I am able to connect to some servers, but I can't create a city.

I was doin' great the first two days, but today has been extremely hit & miss. I got on earlier, but then it booted me and I haven't been able to get on since. Even when they say servers are available, I still get a message telling me they're not. Currently, only two severs are busy - North America West and another North American one. I don't understand why it's saying available when they're clearly not.

 

Actually, in the middle of this post, I got connected to a server, but when I got to the menu page, it told me it couldn't connect to a server. So, I don't know. :/

Same here, hit and miss depending on time of day and luck.

 

Last night the Oceanic server was buggy, this morning (Hawaiian Time) I was able to use the Eastern Europe server and have a nice long game, now I'm back from work and it's a no go.

I just downloaded and installed the game without any problems.

 

I've been able to launch the game once, but when i started the tuturial i was in spectator mode.

After this i tried restarting the game, but now i can't even do that. I get a report "Server unavailable please try again later".

 

It doesn't matter if i choose another server.

 

Maybe the're updating the servers?

 

Edit: I've been able to play for an hour now, after that i got diconected from the servers and haven't been able to get back in yet.

I have only been able to play an hour or so, since the launch. I haven't been able to get past the first screen for 2 days and have tried every server. Kind of frustrating.....  Waiting patiently for the fix and look forward to some good game time.

This is Bullshit!! i have had the game all day and cannot even play it, cause the servers keep crashing and i feel i have wasted allot of money!!
no server = no playing
cause ya cannot play offline single player mode like previous versions of simcity... always got to be on a server... but they crash after 10 seconds!!!!

I downloaded and played last night without a problem, right after midnight... yeah, I know, I couldn't wait to play till this evening. Hope this evening there won't be any troubles.

Funny thing though was that though i'm in Western Europe they put me on an Eastern Europe server..

Are people actually playing at the moment or are all servers offline?

I myself can't even select a server atm. 1 hour ago I got to the tutorial, but when I wanted to load the tutorial I got disconnected.

I had a good couple days on NA East 1 with occasional server outrages but really no stop in game play.  Today seems to be full of issues.  NA East 2 went down, backup up and seems to be down right now.  But my buddy is currently listed as having an 18 minute play wait on the server.

 

Game play is fun... server issues are really disappointing... perhaps my hopes were far too high because I actually anticipated a smooth launch.

I seem to be stuck on "Authenticating with SimCity servers" regardless of which server I select.  The game never progresses beyond that.  Awesome.

well, i came here to tell that i have been trying to log in the game for the last 6 hours now..i get alot of que's. the game loads and when loaded it says error connecting to the server..

no matter what server i try.. and now i see that all the servers are full..whats up with that?? i will keep trying...

 

hope someone can answer on some question around the problems there are with the server(s)??

 

 

EDIT:  Now i get server connect errors or network errors upon connecting..

I can't even connect to a server, all but 2 say busy, 1 says full & the one that says available it won't connect to it.

I played for about two hours on Tuesday and an hour yesterday--both cities I started had disappeared when I logged back in today after waiting nearly an hour for a spot. Then, within one minute of being on the server, I was booted and unable to connect. I was using Oceanic. This is very disappointing.

I have been playing for about 2 hours now, and about 30 minutes in servers went offline. I entered Europe East 2 i think. (started from scratch 3rd or 4th time).

 

So I am thinking I will play some more and hope servers come online and save my progress. Or it will get so late that I will have to go to sleep before that happens and not save the game. I am also thinking on just leaving the game on until I wake up, but I am sure all I would find in the morning are ruins.

Well for my part I cannot join the Europe East no.1. I can join all the others but I can't hit the play button as those servers are busy and occupied too.

Today we couldn't even find and add each other with my friend...

This may be of some help to you all.  You can actually get some information from the twitter feed at https://twitter.com/simcity

 

They tell you when they are pulling servers offline.  They suggest just using a different server.  Don't know about y'all but, since I can not migrate my saves, that sucks.  I have been working on a region off and on, as able, and I do not want to start over with a tutorial and empty region on some server.

I think the Sim City rollout is such a fiasco, that the only way to salvage it is to retool the software and rerelease it as a stand-alone game with Microsoft style one time only activation. The other online stuff could stay optional. I have hesitated to buy this product, and instead gotten my old copies of SC4 and Rush Hour out of mothballs to play instead. Sim City 2013 may be the best that could have happened to keep SC4 alive and thriving. The idea of forcing a multiplayer scheme on a single-player game like Sim City is absurd.

I am quoting my self just to be able to give you a full account.

 

The city that I played on for over and hour and a half with no connection to the servers(red letters and a broken globe at the left corner of the screen)  was saved up the the last second I played on it before I turned the game off. I lost nothing. And it was Europe East 1.

1.The servers are real rubbish. I played server Oceanic 1, on the list, it said "Available". I clicked on it, and on the launcher it  said "Unavailable". I only know "Available","Busy" or "Full". What does "Unavailable" mean?

2.I went to play my original city. It was fine for a while, then it sent me to the main menu, I went to resume, then it said "Unable to load the city at this time, please try again." I did what it said, and it gave me the same problem.

I think I should change to SimCity 4 or Cities XL.

P.S.: Is Cities XL good? I heard that there's no terraforming like SimCity 2013 and no disasters.

I've been playing for a couple of hours on the server named "Oceanic 1", but it seems quite unstable.

 

I have been thinking about starting a new game since I'm afraid this server will never run properly again (simply too many who signed up for the first handful of available servers). Can I expect other servers, espcially the new ones added within the last 12 hours or so, to be more stable in the long run? Which ones would you suggest?

"Sim City Servers are down, attempting to reconnect..."

 

     This flashes in the upper left corner of my screen constantly.  After a while it will say "connected!" and then thirty seconds latter the same old message appears again.  I spent 3 hours (after waiting 3 hours to log in) building my first region today, then I was booted from the server and when I logged back in, it was gone!  Anybody else having horrendous problems like this?  I've already started over twice on different servers, besides i shouldn't have to start over, this is ridiculous.

 

I should have wiped my @$$ with 60 bucks instead of buying this game, at least then I would have had something to show for it.

I have been enjoy playing simcity over the last few days it’s a great game IMO. the only real problem I had was just recently was kicked out of my game on serverOceanic 1 after playing for about 40 minutes.  I Keep on getting a message loin Closed Although it shows Oceanic1  available????

I can log onto other servers ok, but that is pointless as you cannot load the game you have invested 20 hours or more in. MAJOR FLAW. Dont want to start a new game EA want to play the one I have worked on for 8 hours plus.

I wasn't going to buy this game but unfortunatley curiosity bettered me lol. (not to mention SC4 has been CTD a lot on me recentley :-( which pushed me to SC2013). I have actually had no major problems despite my unreliable internet connection, I play north america east and just ignor those connection messages. If it says unable to connect I just keep trying... I'm usually on and able to load on the third try within five minutes normally. When playing I lose connection to the server but keep playing anyhow, just makesure when you quit you are actually connected otherwise you probabbly will lose your progress, but I havn't lost anything yet due to intermittent connection.

statuses totally unacurate on this site,my game keep disconecting from server today,and on the site say its online for the whole time

EDIT-great frickin job EA. game is up 2 minutes than is down 10 minutes,i just made 18 millions in my city without exiting,and now i cant even get in back,hope it didnt rollback...

I've been basically unable to play all morning on the North America West 1 server, even though it says "available". This is garbage. EA/Maxis need to fix this pronto, or I will be demanding a refund.

UPDATE: I can't even change servers or start the game now. It hangs on "updating" indefinitely. All servers appear to be down. Anyone else?

I've been booted out of my own created game three times already this evening. At first I simply pressed play and loaded my city, but after the third drop I had just realized the state of my game has been reversing by 45 minutes with every reload...

I can open Simcity but I cant enter my cities (On Antarctica server)
