I am so excited and cannot wait until Tuesday.

At this point I am jumping up and down and dancing to the excitement we get closer to launch day. I live on the East Coast so I am hoping by 12am I will start playing SImCity after it downloads.

It's like I won the lottery. 283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif

(Not really doing all these things but you get the point) 8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif

But in all seriousness, I am really excited. As soon as I get the game I am stopping everything I am doing and start playing SimCity. Plus I will be on off from school for spring break and will have much time to play the games.

Its going to be Epic!!!! e8a506dc4ad763aca51bec4ca7dc8560.gif

How are you guys feeling? Are you exited and jumping and dancing as I am? 97ada74b88049a6d50a6ed40898a03d7.gif

I have to wait until Amazon ships it to me.   :P   But I'm ridiculously excited, this week is going by so slow and I suspect next will be worse!

Maybe I'll be excited once it costs a lot less than $80 and there's some expansion packs or DLC available.  And if the maps become bigger than in The Sims 3.

But maybe I'm biased because I've never pre-ordered a game or bought it near the release date.  I at least prefer to wait for the first patch, fixing the biggest bugs, comes out.

I CAN wait until Tuesday :) It'll just be another normal day for me. I'll just pick this up when it gets down to the $20-30 mark (because that's how much it's worth to me).

Maybe somebody could just do me a favor.

Go out back to my barn and pick out the sturdiest 2x4 you can find in there.  Then give me a good solid whack over the head and knock me out.  Any time that I start to wake up, give my old noggin' another whack or two.

In that way, the next 5 days will just zoom on by and it will be Tuesday before I know it.  Just make sure to stop on Tuesday, I don't want to miss anything.  :P

And on a serious note, What I'm looking forward to is the friends on my own city building forum getting together to play on a region together like we've been talking about recently, when friends get together to have fun it make a load of difference over playing a game all by your lonesome.

I just really hope once this game is out this forum can transition to actual discussions of the game and not constant complaining.

Well yeah... Once the game is out, there will actually be stuff to talk about for the game.

Can't wait til NAM 31 (March 1) comes out, Avatar: The Search Part I (March 4), for the new pope to come out (sometime in March).

Oh and my friend's birthday is on March 5, so that's a special day.

As for the New SimCity, the days are ticking for all the reviews, critiquing, and the realization to appear. But I will be there, waiting for all of your feedback.

Going to work on the 5th is going to be awful.  The friend I'm playing with and I have already conspired to "encourage" my younger brother to take all of the liquid trash.  Meanwhile, I may secretly compete for the recycling with my friend in an effort to corner the alloys/plastic markets.

Also excited for other regional dynamics, trying out and mastering specializations, and not worrying about whether my new neighborhood is within the radii of a clinic, school, high school, police station, and fire station.

I can't wait for Tuesday :)  Maxis did a really good job with this game.  I was leery before the beta considering the anti-hype from many here, but actually playing the game quashed any of my major concerns.

I'm definitely excited. I have three friends who have also pre-ordered, and I expect to be involved in multiple private sandbox and non-sandbox regions.

Well, to be honest - there is only one thing that I "can't wait for" anymore... that is for this here collection of threads to be crunched into ONE big fat archive and be signed off to posterity - along with all its assumptions, guesses, half-knowledge, flames, beta- and pre-release confusion, never asked and never answered questions... (from ALL sides, I'm not picking on anyone)!

All these to be replaced by sensible discussions of what can really be done (or not) with the new simcity, and finally see some 'real' game-play and city-development.

That's what I am really waiting for ;-)

^^ I can agree with that. The lovers will buy the new game and the people who don't like it leave it in the shop. The endless discussions will finally end and this forum section will calm down and everyone continues with the game they love to play, whether it's SimCity 4 or 2013.

Now THAT will be a relief for both users and moderators of this site... ;)

I'd be careful about hyping up Tuesday too much. I really want to play, but it's online. Download servers could crash, patching servers could crash, authentication servers could crash, Origin could crash. Anything that could go wrong with the online aspect of the game is most likely to happen on Tuesday. I hope it's smooth though.

As for me? Normally, I'd be more excited, and I'd be going nuts for a new game, but this semester, I'm 5 programming classes, and they're all a different language... So I'll spend this whole weekend doing homework probably. Monday ill be in class. Monday evening, I'll probably get a bit of guild wars 2 in for the last time in a while, then Tuesday I won't even be getting the game until mid afternoon because ill be in class. May or may not go to class Wednesday though, lol....

I keep going back and forth on whether I'm going to buy.

On the one hand, I loved SimCity 4. That makes me want to buy SimCity 2013.

But then, on the other hand...

I'll probably end up not buying and see if they improve the core problems everyone is complaining about via a future patch or expansion or something.

Only 3 days left. Ahhhhhhh the wait is killing me.!!!!

On top of that I have a weekend of college homework and have to study for a midterm. Besides the money I paid for I feel like I am working for this game in form of college work bombardment.

Its funny that this tend to happen with every major game release. Whenever a big game is coming out that many people are anticipating, I have either midterms/finals in those 2 weeks or a big project at school.

I think either there is this invisible force manipulating fate and injecting much college work before a release or a more likely scenario, game developers especially those at EA intentionally release games during heavy work/school weeks to make people want the game that much more to increase profit.

I am with you all. I am already developing hand-drawn maps.

And don't worry, I am sure a few patches and expansion packs will make even the most skeptical critic find enjoyment.

I took the day as vacation. :golly:

If I were to guess, and I guess I am... :)  The initiali download will be slow because of all the demand on the servers, then game play will be just fine.  They have had three betas to work out the kinks in demand floods so I expect a good day of gaming.

The invention of beer and the wheel were the foundation of modern civilization & together were the catalyst that split humanity into two distinct subgroups: liberals & conservatives. Some men spent their days tracking & killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. These men were called "conservatives". Other men who were weaker & less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's & doing the sewing, fetching & hair dressing. They were called "progressives".

I'm excited for it's release, but unfortunately I'm still in school for this week, and I've got a project to work on. But on Spring Break, you can bet I'll be playing it a lot.

Dang, came down with a cold a few hours ago, at the rate it's progressing, it looks like I'll be full blown germ city come Tuesday.  Knowing myself the way that I do, I doubt I'll want to set my tray  and sit in an upright position to play a game even if I've been waiting for that game for 8 years.

My wife's got some 'splaining to do when she gets home tonight on how she managed to catch a cold so close to release day and then not bother to tell me 'bout it until she'd already passed it on to me.  She's gonna pay dearly for this... I'm talking doing dishes for weeks, cleaning the yard of dog poo for months and maybe even so far as foot massages for life.

    Damn my luck.

Do EU players get to play on tuesday aswell? I don't see any reason why we would have to wait until friday for the digital version...

Because the game is released in EU on Friday, and if EA wants to continue to see the physical copies of their games on the shelves in European stores, they won't pre-empt their own release date.

I've got an hour and a half break between my two Tuesday classes, so I figured I'd use this time to stop by GameStop, pick up the two copies of the game I ordered, and install them, so by the time I get home after my second class, I should be ready to play.

I have school AND WORK that day :(. I'll completely not be able to play the day it comes out and I pre-ordered it!

If you pre-ordered a digital download, you'll be able to start downloading the game as early as 9pm PST on March 4th (25 hours from right now). So I don't know how late you stay up, but you may be able to play a bit before you go to bed.

Where are you in the EU?  Most of Europe gets access to the game on Thursday with a couple of exceptions:

    Tuesday, 5th March 2013

    • North America
    • Hungary

    Thursday, 7th March 2013

    • European Nations (except Hungary, Ireland, United Kingdom)
    • South Africa
    • Republic of China
    • Russia
    • Australia
    • Japan
    • Central Asia
    • India
    • New Zealand

    Friday, 8th March, 2013

    • United Kingdom
    • Ireland

I have to wait until Friday when my game will hopefully turn up in the post.  *crosses fingers* Until then I'll be watching the discussions here and playing SC4:D
