  1. Question: Any major updates?

I am hoping for an expansion in a couple of months, I am guessing July/Aug after the mac release.
  2. I have just built a 125000 population city and understand how frustrating it is when you have used every part of your city. But its something that adds another complexity to the game, i am actively looking at where i can improve upon my city design.
  3. They don't need to get out of anything, for every person like you...there is a person like me who will take the game for what it is. Why don't you play solitaire, there is little change to that minus graphical changes.
  4. Casinos! NEED HELP!

Just because somebody can't play the specialization it doesn't mean EA didn't make it correctly. I am guessing by the way you wrote it that you have yet to play the game or play with the gambling mechanic. If so, how the hell can you have an opinion on something you have yet to experience?
  5. City efficiency vs style

I like to start off feeling creative, then I end up just making square cities. Damn me and my lack of creativity
  6. Do you think that only your point of view should be heard and anyone who disagrees with you should just shut up? What's the point of a discussion forum if everyone agrees with each other? If everyone has to sing from the same song sheet it's not a discussion, it's a religion. I just don't see why people feel the need to complain about something they don't have to consume. If they don't like the game, why don't they go and talk about a game they do like, they will at least be somewhat constructive their.
  7. I'll take care of Rising Sun Valley and Jugband Hills Origin ID - lloydylloyd
  8. The members of this community are a minority share of the targeted audience of the game. They are not going to change their vision of the game to fit in line with a section of that community who are no longer happy with how the series is being changed. People like you are the reason that games development can't progress at a faster rate because instead of thinking of new ways to do things, you would rather they take the formula of the past and add small new features (remind you of the FPS market?). Like everybody else has said, if you don't want the game, don't buy the game and for the love of god....Please don't talk about the game. If you wanted the developers to read the thread, why didn't you make the thread on the EA forums?
  9. Feel free to add me - lloydylloyd
  10. I am assuming Sims will be happy to travel to any point of my city for work considering they will travel to another city. I am quite happy about this.
  11. Origin Friends

  12. What's the first city you'll build?

I plan on making a city that specializes in mining, though I have yet to decide on Coal or Oil. I then intend to harvest the land for all that I can before using the profit to make industrial based city. After that I am going to look at making a separate education based town, though I might change the order that I make them.
  13. The problem is the glassbox

Can't help but disagree with everything you said. The Glass Box engine will be the thing what takes this series and makes it into a true City Simulator. It will evolve into something that can plot 1,000,000 sims individual moves at the same time and create a realistic representation of not only a city, but real life. Sim City 4 did quite a lot regarding realism, but the fact the Sims were never dynamic and everything was in continuous loops held it back somewhat. The Glassbox will allow for more complex animation on the street level, you can follow one person for the day and see how you could improve his day in your city. This wouldn't be impossible in SC4, you could follow one car until it got to the end of the street and dissapeared. But I suppose SC4 had built in Deloreans for that added realism factor. There will come a day that large cities will be available on SC2013 (They are small because of the processing power of mapping each individual sim/building etc. to have dynamic actions and consequences), but until then I will take great pleasure in seeing one of the biggest developments in gaming evolve right in front of me. + The reason why there are green areas between cities is because it is made to replicate real life. Drive from one side of your country to the other. I guarantee you that you wont be driving through cities for the full duration. Though some simulated farms wouldn't be a bad idea to fill the space.
  14. SimCity Store ?

It depends entirely what is on offer. If it is micro transactions then I will more than likely wait for the bigger products that have more than just an aesthetic change.
