Out of curiosity, why did we lose the box for recent visitors in the new CJ section?

Oh no... I was tinkering around with that infobox to test its limit. Did I break it? :uhm:

EDIT:

Performance issues. Apparently there is no limit on the number that you can set, so people have been setting 1000 or so and this causes some performance hits especially lately. This box may return once we're able to put a fix cap on that number.. so stand by...

Uh oh... I might have :lost:

Not a major issue, but I've noticed that the "x user(s) browsing this topic" has also disappeared.
This used to be displayed below each topic, at the footer. Instead, it now only shows at the bottom of each forum, for example:

EboeGHf.png

Has this also been disabled to enhance performance?

Apparently me clicking onto the Forum index constitutes a 'fatal error'

I get this message.

Fatal error: Method __f__07197a100d7ee0166215ebf93e1401ff does not exist in group_hideForum in /home/admin/public_html/forum/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php on line 4022

Strange.  I just tested that and it works for me.  Where in the world are you?

Salford, England. It's working now though. Must have been a server thing.

There have been some funny lockouts in the process of the current debug/upgrade to a higher volume.  Dirk has done a heroic job getting things running well again.

Yes, the site is now much more consistently stable, with a 99% uptime over the last 7 days.

Also, good to see the "no. of users" status indicator has returned to the topics (as well as the forums). Nice work on promptly fixing this!

I had that same error this morning for five or so minutes before I could get back into the forums.

It is not often that I browse down the forum to the Gamer Topics, but, I have noticed that the "Gaming Talk," "City-Building Games," and "Strategy Games" sub forums do not display correctly on my Android 2.3.6 smartphone.  While the rest of the forum looks and works correctly with mobile themes using Android's stock browser, those three sub forums are displayed as compacted, unformatted text, with most spacing and dividers missing and with seemingly incorrect, all mid-tone blue, background colors showing.

Sorry, I do not know how to take screen captures off my phone display to show how this mobile formatting problem looks.  I also do not have this formatting problem when browsing on PC using IE.  Given that the Gamer Topics sub forums even have title fonts already differing from the rest of the forum by their use of colors and italics, there may be some other hidden variation in formatting or coding that is affecting the mobile theme.

I think that's it, noted, and will see if there's any workaround. I don't have an android to test tho, but thanks for reporting.

Not a bug but a thought: the SC4 forum CJ section has a link to the main CJ section. Why not have links between them and others, such as 2013 and CXL, at the top of each page so they can cross pollinate?

I have had occasional hiccups, but it is inconsistent.  Might be related to the current demand.  With the higher traffic, the chances of collisions with load levelling seems more likely.  Were they large files?

Just to let us know, if we still do not have an Android system to test on, that the issue seems to have been resolved, and the mobile site for those sections now seem correct.  Hooray, thank you!

After the minor forum update today, quotes now have the word 'undefined' directly after the post time. For example:

Someone, on 11 Mar 2013 - 12:00 undefined, said:

It doesn't show up in the editor -- only when a post is actually made.
Maybe the quote is expecting an AM or PM at the end, which isn't being displayed...(?)

A problem that has been getting worse.  When a thread has many images in it, the advance to last post lands far too early.  I suspect it is not able to compute the size of the images.

I think the site may be having an issue as to where to put my City Journal. Apparently it is now part of the Boomtown Group. I looked through a few other CJs and none did the same thing. I've uploaded an image to show what I mean:

I noticed the image problem too. Normally, when clicking on the 'newest post'-thingy, it would take you to the newest post exactly, but now often the site takes you to a different place in the thread (which has to do with the fact that it first loads the page, and when the page is finished loading, the images are loaded).

It has become quite a pain to view threads with a lot of images (for example any 'show us you...'-thread). As you are scrolling through the thread, new images constantly pop up, making the thread longer and changing your position in it, that way making it impossible to continue reading/looking (because you are disoriented and need to search 'now where was I?'). How come the forum doesn't know anymore 'here should be an image of that size, so I'll reserve a space for it'?

I hope I made myself clear, it's not easy to describe, and certainly not in English :)

Not sure if this has been reported or not, but the city journals search engine is not working. Every search ends with "No results found, even as simple as "SimCity 4".

I don't understand what happened here. This is a thread in the General Discussion-forum, if I'm not mistaken, and yet it shows up like it is a thread in a group... ()

Yes, this is quite a strange one -- I've noticed this previously on a few occasions now. Looks like a similar instance to above. It almost seems as if it's redirecting the topic to the group forums, even though it hasn't been moved. If I remember correctly, on the previous occasions, it also occurred with a topic in the SC4 General Discussion forum. Though there doesn't seem to be a clear pattern (i.e. such as the topic poster being a member of the group).

It looks like a similar thing has now happened to this topic in the SC13 forum. Strangely, it's now seemingly part of the Boomtown group. :???:

A consistency is they're all being displayed in the groups section. Also, if you're not a member of the group (or guest posting is disabled), then it's not possible to reply to the topic.

I've seen a couple of these, but they didn't seem to be located in any specific group.  There is some rare problem somewhere.

If anyone else is having the above issue, feel free to post the links. I can update this list periodically as the master list, if the staff wishes.

Thanks, I’ll get onto it as soon as possible.

As for your CJ, It might take little longer, but I’ll keep you updated with how it’s going.

If you want to maintain a list of problem threads that would be great :D
