Clearly you are getting a false positive.  Just add the site to your white list.

Never heard of the virus scanner.  Where did you get it?  Was it free?  Maybe you got exactly what you paid for.

Hi, I can't open ST on my laptop anymore, because my virus scanner says it's a high risk site since a few days. I don't really like posting on my phone, but I had to do it to post this. Can anyone help me? My virus scanner is called Sophos btw.

I got the same thing. Sophos gives me this error:

https://www.sophos.com/en-us/threat-center/threat-analyses/viruses-and-spyware/Mal~HTMLGen-A.aspx

I just made an exception for this site.

It's also used by companies and it might be a bit overprotective. Thanks for the advice, both of you.

On Hal's example, the last update appears to have been more than five years ago.  What???

It updates almost everyday, I think. The problem somehow solved itself, but I still want to thank you both.

A lot of these scanners also monitor reputation, sometimes across third-parties, and, just after Cities: Skylines broke out in popularity, Simtropolis was definitely infected a month or so ago with drive-by malware downloaders that sent protection software into a tizzy for a number of users.  Those drive-by downloads seemed to have now ceased, but the reputation reports dialed home from users' scanners as well as follow-up company web monitors will still be lingering out there, and there were enough such automated reports that several protection companies had put red flags on Simtropolis.  The tragedy of web popularity.  As Simtropolis stays clean, the monitored reputation will be cleaned as well.

That ever-present Korean spam-bot on the C:S forum here probably doesn't help things, though.  Somebody smite it once and for all!

For whatever reason, if I view a news item it get logged out (on that tab only it seems) and it won't let me log in from the article - I get a "sorry, you don't have permission for that!" message when I try to do so.

Not that it really means anything, but it's an odd quirk.

About the spam, I would suggest something like you can't use korean letters in the title of a page. ST is a Canadian forum and we talk English here, so allowing them is a bit like the Dutch gouvernment does with weed :P

Whenever I try to upload, I get this error code:

"There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200"

I've tried it on multiple computers, so I don't think it's just me. However, I noticed that there have been uploads made during the time that I have been experiencing this issue. Any pointers?

Somehow, I think this thread should be closed and a new one opened in the current revision designator.

I get the same error reasonably often - same error code as well.

I've also noticed it doesn't have to be the main forum page... it can happen on the subforum pages too:

Another bug/issue I'm getting is the "Recent Posts" box is not showing for me on the main forum page. The "Recent Topics" one is stil there but it isn't as useful...

A retry or a reload of the page often fixes this up.  I suspect we may have changed servers.

Thanks guys, we're working on these issues. :)

By the way, I agree it's time we move over to a new thread:
