Apparently the SimCity NES soundtrack is available on the Internet Archive along with the ROM and some other stuff, in case anyone wanted it.

I'm at bit late to the party here, but thanks for the great music uploads, @biff. What a great idea.

The music in all SimCity-games was a great part of the overall aesthetic and atmosphere, and hence it was (and still is) a vital part of the game experience. In the later stages of my life, I have used the soundtracks from SC3K and SC4  intensely for my reading sessions at university (they can also be found on YouTube). Jerry Martin is an exceptionally underrated composer. Funny to think about that this man is probably responsible for a lot of 80's and 90's kids earliest introductions to city jazz, classical music and lounge music.

The Sims soundtrack is also amazing (the first game - you know, that game we all played once) - the music here is also composed by Jerry Martin. I really dig the bossa nova flavour of the "neighbourhood" tracks.

    I never played Sims as a kid, but I had SC2K and 3K. Funnily enough I initially didn't like 3K's non-jazz tracks.

I can understand why. Some of the non-jazz tracks from SC3K kinda freaked me out. There was a lurking feeling of intense mystery behind many of them. This one (see link below), for example, had some unreal vibes to it, one could even say it had some supernatural elements (especially the voices in the beginning). However, as my musical mind has matured through the years, I have come to recognize the track as an avantgarde lounge piece that perfectly aligns with the process of managing a greater city. Also, this kind of music was very popular in the years around 99-00.

I've dragged a couple .mp3s into my Radio>Stations>Mayor>Music folder, and they aren't playing in-game, nor showing up in the player in-game. Anyone know what might be going on?

Did you click the box for custom tunes under the playlist in game sound menu? You may also need to turn music off and back on again to reset it.

I love pretty much all of SC4's music. I enjoy most of SC3000's music as well, especially this one which is my favorite SC3k track:

It's just so industrial and, idk, dystopian, and Bladerunner-esque. Love it.

At least you guys get music. Mine doesn't even get the Maxis stuff, let alone custom. I've tried every configuration, too. The Preview button is grayed out. Not that big a deal, I can play it elsewhere, but once in a while, in game would be nice.

Thank you HJ! I so agree with the article! One of the reasons I decided to reinstall the game in 2013, after at least 8 years of hiatus from the game was because I fetlt hat music so much!

Now I just play the game religiously. :)

Heck I even play the SC4 music when I play C:S

Is it possible to load music onto the Origin version of the game? I notice the "Radio" folder does not appear in the Origin file structure.

That's actually really neat. Sounds livelier than any other arrangement of SC2K's music I've heard, for sure - very citypop-esque. Apparently Sue Kasper was the only actual composer for the music and the 3 other guys were just technical assistance; I may update the files to reflect this in future but it's way, way down my priority list right now. If we can get a dump of the actual album that would be absolutely amazing, but for now I'll stick a link to the video in the OP.

    EDIT: I have it.

While not from an actual SimCity game, the OST from The Sims (original) fits very nicely when playing SC4.

    Remastered soundtrack here:

"Buy Mode" starts 30 mins in and has a very SC3K vibe.

So this version of the SimCity 2000 Macintosh arrangement is better than what I managed IMO, even if it's a soundfont reproduction instead of an exact recording: https://archive.org/details/SimCity2000MIDIMacOSSF/01+-+Downtown+Dance+(SimCity+2000+Theme+Song).flac

I've been making my own list of songs that sound like SimCity music. In the playlist I included some of the original songs that I really like, but here I'll be marking them apart, if you want only the ones that would be additional. Obviously, is a work in progress and I'm contiuously adding more songs that match the style.

Overall, is a cool mixture of jazz, fusion, math rock, ambient and some other game soundtracks.

I just downloaded the Sim-Melody songs. They're so awesome! I mostly enjoyed the jazz tracks, and some of them sounds like Jerry Martin's "Rush Hour" from SC4. I guess JM had a great inspiration moments when he made his tracks :D

Now I have SC2K, SC3K (my very first SC ), SC4, SC Societies (some tracks are actually neat) and SC13: Cities of Tomorrow (of course *:P*) in my track list.

Sorry for the double post, but I had some free time. Now that I have some SimCity Classic tracks from Amiga CDTV (the SNES tracks are beautiful, but their loopy nature is just not my cup of tea), I can now say that I have something from almost all SimCity OSTs in my jukebox, including SimMars. And yes, I have replaced some SC4 tracks with SC3K tracks.

    sctrack.jpg.3633d626d8469e1357cc48fc1a6ce339.jpg

Totally 189 tracks from almost all SimCity games, various games (Cities: Skylines, Anno 2070, Anno 2205, Beyond Earth, Stellaris, Command and Conquer games like Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, Universe at War, Grey Goo, Rise of Legends, Blade Runner, Forge of Empires), mods (SimMars and Robot Storm for Red Alert 2) and various artists (Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Yianni, Daft Punk, Frank Klepacki, 2 Steps from Hell, Konstantinos Delioglou, and many more). A mix of jazz and electronic music

    sctracks.jpg.bf1b554c22c3a4e0b25e420c16e44bee.jpg

And for the region mode, 97 tracks. Once again I have replaced some SC4 tracks with music from Spore and SimEarth, and include music from other games (Anno 2070, Anno 2205, Stellaris, Beyond Earth, Populous: The Beginning, Universe at War, Space Force: Rogue Universe) and various artists like Vangelis, Yanni, Jean Michel Jarre, and even @MandelSoft. A mix of naturalistic, Celtic, electronic, and space ambient music.

Hello there! Thanks for making this comprehensive soundtrack compilation, it's been very useful to me. However I have a question related to SimCity Creator for Wii. It seems that many of the tracks are very short and appear to end abruptly. A friend of mine suggested this could be due to internal looping points in the tracks, but another suggestion is that this is simply a faulty rip. Does anyone have any information related to this?

    Thanks very much.
