Don't worry, it will be. Also, here's one solution for that wall:

The area to the left where the vertical garden exists, as pictured above, will transition into a traditional garden within the ground, or perhaps patio space, or maybe even something else:

Let me hear your ideas. Enjoy!

Wow, that's really impressive. I must admit that I wasn't really sold on the idea when you started this one, but it sure has evolved into a very interesting and beautiful building. It could totally work as an exhibition pavilion (world exposition or simlar), too. :)

I think that while it looks pretty cool with all that greenery, it would probably be best to have the one without it, or to offer both. The reason is that I always imagined this on a high rock, next to a river or a waterfall. In an environment like that, the trees would probably look pretty weird.

This guy is closer to being complete.

I've fixed the windows up, and also added coffered doors. These have cutouts in them so the doors may close around the gantry rails.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I really appreciate the feedback, and there's something to be said about all those thumbs-up points. Thanks a million everyone!

Awesome! That's gonna look brilliant outside a mine or a sawmill!

I had never envisioned a mine, let alone a saw mill, but I can totally see how they would fit. You've already given me some ideas.

Loving that outhouse with the chimney stack held up by wires... the roofs and textures on these indutrial BATs are outstanding.

The flora you've added to the futuristic house is beautiful. Love those little flowers.. how did you do those?

Thanks once again for the kind words Reddonquixote. It's funny you say these textures are exceptional. I guess it has something to do with the fact that as of recently, these buildings are nothing but textures. To ease up on creation time, I had lowered the poly count drastically from what I usually work with, and instead focused on creative texture work. Case in point:

    8afcd250762c8e2b13b9cd0f13aa2ba4f386c8a1

Minus the flora (which by the way, is created with a fractal plugin for Sketchup), this is what the model looks like immediately prior to import into 3dsMax. The devil is in the detail texture, as they I say. :P Sometimes I download and modify publicly-available plant assets from the Sketchup warehouse if I'm looking for something very specific and cannot make it myself for whatever reason (often it's time). As far as warehouses go, they are pretty bare-bones:

    8afcd250768523ce253519bc734a8aa9a083f9c1

This model is more or less accurate to what I import into 3dsMax for texturing and rendering. I believe it is only lacking part of the roof and a ladder. I would encourage all of you to give this style of BATing a try. Evidently it gives pleasing results and saves on time. I am now able to make two buildings with size and detail akin to that of the aforementioned warehouses every three days. It also helps when making complex girder-work structures such as this:

    8afcd2507600bc75f915ab3f5bfd392150953280

It is for these structures that certain plugins really come in handy. The ability to draw pipes along simple splines with a few clicks make a world of difference.

    8afcd25076ffacc2af1ec8fce8a583c8c0b22508

The purpose of this structure is to perform a very specific task for a very specific type of industry. If anyone can figure out what the real-life counterpart of this BAT does, then you've figured out what my next line up of BATs will be. ;)

    8afcd25076965a05ca52cc075aa0e740db8dbe51

Hint: Look at the large, cylindrical structure encased in the girders. Also, if I were to BAT this structure in its condition prior to the 70's, it wouldn't look so rusty. I hope you enjoy the progress!

Wonderful work, I think you can be the master of the Industry jobs, we do need a industry batter replacer. Can you fill in the job please, I think Sim City needs more factories. :D

I noticed it snowing outside this morning, so I turned on the fireplace, but that wasn't enough. Here's part of a blast furnace to keep you all warm and fuzzy inside:

I think your industrial models are amazing. I'd only like to point out that they might be too reflective. They all have that blueish tint that comes from reflecting 'sky". This doesn't happen in new steel and especially doesn't happen in old rusty steel. Apart from that, well, amazing.

Thanks Vlasky! By the way, if you're speaking of the top, don't worry. That'll be covered by a thousand bits and bobs:

Happy to give you ideas, bips, even when I don't intend to.

I really love the details of all your industrial stuff, and that futuristic glass house you're working on is just so inspiring. I've said it before and I will say it over and over again; you're awesome!  :)

    I've been away for too long, Bipin. >.< Nonetheless, amazing progress on that organic/futuristic house--loving the weathered, "broken-in" look. :yes: As for the industrial structures, can't get enough of that earthy-rustiness (hmm is that even a word?). Haha, but yeah thanks for the blast furnace! It's getting really cold here, ugh. Have a good one as always. :}

I think we can call it quits for the smokestacks. In other words, that means a release today or tomorrow!

    8afcd2507689856f1a0e6d07a18c7229511d36db

If you can think of any other industrial items you'd like to see in the upcoming release, let me know. The aforementioned release will include the following generic lots and props; a starter kit of sorts:

    • Red brick outbuilding (complete)
    • Tan brick outbuilding (with gantry crane) (complete)
    • Concrete/iron framework outbuilding (complete)
    • Small concrete outbuilding (Incomplete)
    • Large cooling tower (with Xannepan's smoke effect custom-made for this) (complete)
    • Large smokestack (complete)
    • Medium smokestack (complete)
    • Small brick smokestack (complete)
    • Straight road overlay 2x1 (HD) (complete)
    • Curved road overlay 2x2 (HD) (complete)
    • Tight curved road overlay 1x1 (HD) (incomplete)
    • 4-way road overlay (HD) (complete)
    • Road grade crossing overlay (HD) (complete)
    • Road overlay bridge 7x1 (HD) (complete)
    • Dirt pile (complete)
    • Gravel pile (complete)
    • Gravel pile (with tarpaulin) (complete)

All the aforementioned props and lots have been shown in this thread at one point or another. Enjoy!
