I think if anything, the light colours look great, as if they were faded by weather.

Thanks, that's what I was going for! I'm glad someone noticed!, given the current subject matter of industrial deterioration. Also, as a thank you to all the supporters of my BAT projects, here's a little gift for you:

I know that some bleaching was applied to simulate weathering, but I still think the effect may be a tad too strong, especially on the green buoy. I just browsed through Google images, and this confirmed my opinion rather than convincing me otherwise. Not to be misunderstood, the buoys are still great, and I can totally see myself using them as they are, but even so...

Meh well, they do come in all shapes and sizes (and colours too). I had based my buoys off of this sort of colour scheme:

Besides, when recreating something with artistic license one shouldn't follow the reference verbatim, but rather do what looks right. I found a more "wholesome" and saturated green looked too new and clean for this particular application.

Then keep them as they are, and they'll be fine. :)

Well, that's why I released them on my thread only, not on the STEX. Aside from making a special gift for you guys, I'm not going to publish an early preview elsewhere. :)

Remember those houses from way back?

Well, those houses from way back are making a comeback!

    8afcd25076350de520f051120912e3101ad4316a

I'll be doing them in HD since the details really come out at that level and furthermore, some major (e.g. brick and shingles) textures look to smooth and frankly, just textureless, when in SD at zoom 5.

I've got a question though; how do I handle custom foundations and get rid of that nasty brown texture that appears on the lot, even when I try and remove the base texture via Ilive's reader?

From what I can tell, you can create the custom foundation as a separate prop and make sure the property 'isgroundmodel' (or something like that) is set to false so that it will not generate a shadow.  What brown texture are you referring to?

The brown texture is in reference to the default ground texture that seems to appear when the lot grows, despite all attempts to remove any sort of base/overlay textures.

OMG....with these houses you have truly surpassed yourself.  Many thanks for the Beta's of the Piers, Buoys and Houses, I have a sneaky feeling that these will be found in loads of CJs.  Keep up the fantastic work, Bipin.  You truly are BATman.

Just wrapping up a few loose ends with older projects done for other members (you know who you are) ;) among simple ones of my own creation that were close to being finished, such as this:

I believe only a select few of you knew about this project.

That's odd. No one else reported this issue. I'll try and figure out what went wrong. ;)

Is it out of the question to consider standard detail renderings for your BATs. Some people prefer it over HD.

Which BATs? I generally do HD renders for those which have a high level of detail only noticeable at the closest zoom. However, when it comes to larger props and buildings, such as my most recent houses, I do plan on creating HD and SD versions. If that's what you are concerned about, don't worry! :)

I believe I've figured out the issue. In the download, I neglected to add the buildings for the lots. The absence of buildings is characteristic of this kind of error. You may download the required buildings here:
