"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. Transportation. The utilities guy is always bothering me about the obvious fact that there's no power yet. The environmental person is bothering me about trees, the fire and police person is telling me to put in fire stations, and the city planner is always telling me to zone more. When I have absolutely no room to do it.

Favorite advisor: city planner! Always announcing the goodies and rewards!

runner up: finances! Always warns me and gives me advise when I'm in trouble with finances.

Most annoying advisor: envoirment! She's never satisfied. She keeps complaining that I have not enough trees and parks, while my city is IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FORREST!

runner up: transportation! With the NAM he alarms me that roads are clogged, while it's just the traffic simulator simulating the holdup at the stoplights...

I like the transportation guy and health and education lady because they are the best at giving me information that correlates to the actual state of my city. Utilities is a runner up because he warns me before my power plants blow up. The environment lady is the worst; she always seems to have something to whine about as soon as I start to build anything beyond a simple farming village. No matter how many parks you build, she always tells you to make more, and of course building an industrial district will have her mad at you for all eternity.

My favorites are city planer and utilities. City planner because he always showers me with praise and lets me know how awesome my city is. Utilities because he's just cool.

Least favorite is probably finance because she does nothing but complain when the city becomes bankrupt.

Environment lady doesn't give me water trouble, i just build my water pumps away from industry and heavy traffic. However she doesn't seem to realize that sims can't live in the forest.

The transportation advisor almost always has a good point. He can get a little annoying sometimes when he bugs you about the same damn street which you can't do anything about, but for the most part, he points legit problems out and gives you good ways to fix them.

The most annoying by far is the Enviromental advisor, who seems to not think anything is wrong with eco-terrorism, and screams and yells whenever a small amount of water polution appears in the middle of a heavy industrial zone.

Neil Fairbanks always has praise and/or cool rewards when he pops up. All the other Advisors do nothing but complain. The worst would be the Environmental Advisor. Easily ignorable advice, and I hate getting my water pumps shut down.

Since I am using a "money cheat", the finance lady is NEVER an issue. Infact, she only appears when you're bankrupt. The Health Care/ Education is OK as long as you keep up school/medical funding. The fire guy gets annoying when he yells about not having enough fire stations and, IMO, he starts the fires on purpose. The environmental lady's messages are closed and not read. :P It is funny when her and the Utilities guy start to argue and want me to pick sides, "Don't listen to the crazy tree hugger! Give your sims jobs by zoning industrial" and "That green meddler shut down the water again".

Which is exactly why she is the most useless advisor in the whole game. You don't need someone telling you that you are bankrupt, because the numbers tell you how much money you have.

If we only had a "no pollution" cheat--nifty cities would be easier to erect and no environmental nagging!! Does anyone know if there is one? (similar to how there are cheats for money, power and water)

The environmental advisor and the financial advisor are my favorites. They never EVER fire popup warnings at me when I'm in the middle of something, and if I decide to look at the news viewer (or whatever it's called) I can just delete their warnings without paying much attention at all.

The WORST advisor is the health/education lady. I HATE THAT WOMAN WITH THE POWER OF A THOUSAND THOUSAND BURNING SUNS OF RAGE. She is CONSTANTLY yammering about the lack of funding in my hospitals and schools, wants more money than I have sims to be funded, and ALWAYS pops up with her stupid warnings. I HATE HER. The city planning dude is a close second because he pops up for no reason, too! I don't care about the stupid Coca Cola HQ! If I want to build a reward, I'll check the news viewer to see if you have a story for me and then I can easily open the rewards menu to find it! I don't need your help! But he's a very distant second to that woman who is NEVER happy with me with her constantly angry face with her stupid red background. I'd hate to be her husband, although I can't believe such a bitter old hag could possibly be married in the first place. I wish I could fire her and have her tied up outside city hall to have tomatoes thrown at her for a day before I ship her out of my city to make someone else's life worse. Grr!

The city planner is generally a cool-guy who tells me what I like to hear. ;)

As for the other advisers. . . the environmental b#@$% is always #@$!%ing about everything. If it's not pollution it's the parks. . . if it's not the parks it's the trees. :rage:

Transportation guy is runner-up for always #%!@$ing about road congestion on some single-tile section of road in a low-density residential area.

    hehehe

For me it's a tie for favorite between the Transportation Advisor and the City Planner, but the Transport Advisor gets my vote because he hardly ever bothers me for/about anything. The advisor I hate the most would have to be the Enviromental Advisor, who is always going on and on about a lack of trees, parks, etc when litteraly every empty space in my cities are filled with a park or at least an 'Open Grass Area'- when she isn't whining about something equaly trivial or shutting down my water facilities. I also dislike the Health and Education Advisor, altough that could just stem from my predisposition against going to school or the doctor's office. All of them, however, are equaly hateable when (s)he pops up in an 'Urgent Advice Diaolouge' window, usually saying something along the lines of "MAYOR, I HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO TELL YOU! EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE PROBABLY AWARE OF IT ALREADY OR I HAVE TOLD YOU BEFORE, YOU MUST LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!!!11!!!1

    /rant

I seemed to have quite a hard time typing that, I guess I have a case of fat fingers tonight lol :boggle:

Most of them I don't really mind. It is reasonable that they give me hints like "Warning: Systems are at Capacity" or "Traffic Congestion is Hurting Commute Timing". But the one that I absolutely HATE (and I am NOT using this expression lightly) is the same as NMUSpidey: the Health and Education advisor. This woman is the Devil! She always demands that I give more money to the schools and hospitals when I already have maxed funding and the largest facilities built. Even in small cities, when I make full funding my financial advisor steps in and says I'm giving too much. To me, this is a "Well do you want me to do it or not?!" scenarios.

Besides that, It's really annoying when my Safety advisor keeps yelling at me for too much crime at (the very out-in-the-open corner of) the airport even though I already built 4 police stations around it but he does let me know as soon as a disaster just starts (even though this screws up my roads when I try to build them). However, the others aren't as annoying since they give me rater useful pointers. The Finance lady often unlocks buildings that generate income whenever my city is out of money. The City planner pops up at the most inconvenient time to announce that I unlocked a building that doesn't do much for my city. The Transportation advisor gives me useful hints about my networks but he complains way too much about traffic problems that I can't solve without first destroying and moving building I wanted to keep or by wasting a huge amount of cash just to get it to work right. My utilities advisor is good for letting me know if my cities power/water/garbage problems need to be fixed and he manages to strike deals with other cities but the only problem is that he pops up again and again after I click him off. And lastly, the Environmental lady keeps complaining that I don't have enough parks even though I already use Ctrl-Alt-Shift to bring up god mode and spawn a bunch of trees everywhere.

So in order from my most Hated to my most respected advisors:

    Health/Education>Environment>Utilities>City Planning>Safety>Transportation>Financial

I totally agree. A coal power plant is decaying, and he has to scream at you 3 times that you have to build another one. I hate him. My fav is the Finance advisor, because if you are making money, she doesnt talk, and sometimes she might compliment you :D.

I like the transport one and finance but HATE the utilities because he states the obvious for example no power when you have just started and alerting you of power shortages when you can SEE the no power icon!
