  1. Commute time

I put highways, avenues and monorails in the beggining and scroll down the funding, it makes it easier then to build the city, when its needed i fund it up, so that i don't need to build monorails destroying every building i see... i have now a 130k people city with 2 neighbours, which one of those has 15k people (only rich) and i have buses and subways. I know what i am doing The traffic flow wasnt even at 40% Thanks for your effor guys Happy building!
  2. Commute time

No congestion, i have NAM http://imageshack.us...3/traffic2.png/ Im sorry it took so long to reply, my internet was behaving a bit odd in the last couple of days . So here it is, http://imageshack.us...3/traffic2.png/ I made a new city with the same problem,-- http://imageshack.us...ficstupid1.jpg/ now a city without neighbours, without roundabounts, farmlands, some residential 11k people, some comercial jobs, and rest all farms, bus stops in the town: http://imageshack.us...stopinside.jpg/ Traffic data view: http://imageshack.us...iewtraffic.jpg/ Transportation facilities in the farmlands :http://imageshack.us...ficstupid2.jpg/ (all railstations have a bus stop near them with road acess) This is a bit frustrating, im posting this too because i thought it could help Thanks for reading I fixed the problem, it was an issue with nam, my game was rhd, and nam was lhd, so i changed nam to rhd, and everything worked alright, i spotted that on avenue intersections which people cant drive on it because its 'grass' and the white arrows where in the wrong direction and wrong place , thank you guys for helping me
  3. Guide to Naming Your City

    Very nice
  4. Transportation Guide - An Overview

    Very useful and good information
  5. Make a bigger difference TREES!

That's what i do, i put hundreds of plants in their houses some right in front of their doors but i can't seem to block their way to work hehe Good idea
  6. I like the transportation advisor the most and I HATE the environmental advisor, she teases me about everything whit her pop-ups. I dont like much the health/education advisor because she also teases me alot.

  9. Commute time

Hello, Sorry for making another topic. Here is the deal: Everything is working now, except one really really frustrating thing, sims are realy stupid to have long commute time when a job is right next to them, I got on a medium sized zone a city with like almost 4k people, on one corner. The residential zones are divided into 4x4 blocks, i used bus stops in a 2block sequence in my residential zone along with a subway station in the center next to another bus stop. then i got an avenue with 2 oneway roads on each side ( one on the oposite direction of the other) that avenue with those oneway roads are connected to a roundabount . Here is a image: http://imageshack.us...2/61659155.png/ As you can see i also got a highway connected to the avenue and to some roads below, The sims keep getting commute long time . in the graph data views it says avg of 1.2 hours, i know thats alot, i also see that the subway has a usage of 89 % and the 2 bus stops in the centre of the residential and industrial zones is at 142% i made 1 more bus stop next to those 2 ( 1 more in residential zone and another in industrial ) the usage for both was roughly 85% . I tried building a monorail but no1 uses it, i realy dont know why its like this, i zoned the jobs on the other corner to prevent air polution to go to my sims, but seriously 1.2 hours for that? with all those services? i dont understand, people are abandoning their houses because of the commute time: http://imageshack.us...3/30582068.png/ What should i do ?
  10. lol having a bit trouble quoting but nvm, im jst new to this eheh :S (Jim 546's post) Thanks for suggesting me that, i redownloaded the last version of the NAM addon (network addon mod) . Last time i installed it without looking at the options and i saw at my game that it was left handed, and i live in portugal so that doesn't look so realistic to me, this time, i was looking closer to the options i can select, i chose the " full installation (RHD) and i come with a little question, i have been having serious problems with commute time, peoplle dont want to travel even 20 squares with a subway, ground rails, monorails, buses and double avenues from the residential areas to the industrial or commercial areas. They (R:$ ) seem not using the bus or subway or even the monorail, they just go by car. Back to the topic: I found an option saying: " Select Traffic Simulator and Capacity Levels" There are 4 diferent "levels" on this option : low, medium, high, ultra, without mentioning the classic , previous version and custom options Which option should i take? What exactly does this do? Does this increase the road capacity of cars? Or does it make sims to go trough the fastest way possible to their work? Thanks Best regards, Kevin The controller options provided in the newer NAMs were culled to only the most modern ones that support the most mods (Z Simulator was the only one TMK). Simply selecting "RHD installation" when installing the NAM in an LHD copy of the game will not change the driving side. All it will do is completely wreck most of the NAM pieces, as well as leaving all of the rail networks completely and fundamentally broken, mainly because of the lack of LHD paths in an LHD game. Those four different versions of the traffic simulator change the capacities of all of your networks. Nothing more. Thanks for the reply, thanks to all of you that helped me I am now messing around a bit with tsct ("Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool") Best regards, happy building

  12. Welcome to the conversation. The lot by the monorail line probably is oriented wrong or no longer on a road. The others will be OK. What a zot in that situation means is that the simulator has noticed the lot, but the path finder hasn't located it yet. These things take time, and more time as the city grows. The process is serial not parallel and whether a lot is selected on any given pass is controlled by a randomizer. Thanks for the fast reply, the only thing thats pushing me back is the commute time, tho i got alot of avenues, monorail, bustops , and subways.
  13. Hello, i found a nice tutorial on youtube saying that a good layout for building a city is by doing 4x4 blocks and 2block bustops. Ive did that, zoned my residential to start and commerce and industry on the other side of the river I did this and i encountered a very strange problem (see atached image ) These sims cant reach these litle zones with the "no car simbol" over them. if you see closely, you can spot a 2x1 zone facing the avenue (unreachable) and one next to it 2x1 facing the avenue without that problem. What is going on here? I know it is a bit confusing and hard to explain, i tried my best to do that, This is a bit strange to happen . Can someone help me? Is this a bug or something? If it is how do i fix it? Thanks alot for reading, best regards, Kevin
