Hobby Lobby

Circle K, Speedway and Marathon gas stations

Love's, Pilot, T & A truck stops

Planet Fitness

any kind of yoga/Pilates studio (dance studios too!)

Buffalo Wild Wings (Bw3s or B dubs as we locals call it)

The Pinus Taeda, also known as the Loblolly Pine is native to the southern United States more than any palm tree. Would love to see this addition to Mayor Mode ploppables.

BORA BORA - FRENCH POLYNESIA

URGENT REQUEST

I need some tropical type hotels that can be placed IN the water. I am recreating Bora Bora in French Polynesia. I have the terrain, water and beach mods close to perfect but cannot simulate the hotels in the attached photos. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

I hope this is the proper place to make such a request, but I am trying to reproduce the fictional city of Tar Valon from the wheel of time series.  I reproduced the map of the city (or that area) using photoshop, I am still working on figuring out how the put down medeivel  houses/farms instead of modern ones. What I specifically need is a reproduction of the white tower (I am still not 100% sure of the terminology and such a reproduction is called a "bat" or a "mod" or a "lot" or if those terms are interchangeable):

latest?cb=20100107034730

Is this the right forum/thread to ask on?  Do I need to go to one of the other SC4 builders forums, do I need to go to the forums on sc4Devotion, or what?  I figure that the builders forums here on simtropolis would be a place where the people with the approoriate skills in GMAX (or whatever) hang out.

Hi all!  I'm interested in making cities that reflect a future that's much more environmentally stable than the world we live in, and have been trying to get modding tools working on Linux, under Steam without luck. I'm looking specifically for some municipal works for these projects. Specifically;

1) MSW composting - something similar to the recycling depots already in game; reduces trash destined for landfill or waste-to-energy plants and provides a boost to agricultural demand by composting food and paper waste. Effectiveness boosted by the pre-sort requirement, ideally.

2) Runoff remediation - facility that uses some fast-growing aquatic plant to capture nutrient runoff from farms and turn it into garbage - either for composting via MSW facility, for biofuel in a waste-to-energy plant, or for just landfill. Would reduce agricultural water pollution, increase agricultural demand, and produce garbage that needs to be dealt with.

3) Biofuel plant with carbon capture - power plant that provides a large boost to agricultural demand (for growing the biofuel), provides power similar to a gas or oil plant, with low pollution but for a relatively high price - higher, say, than gas but lower than waste-to-energy.

I'm also interested in some city ordinances, go figure, but figure this isn't necessarily the place for them. If anyone has any tips on modding in Linux that'd also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yo, guys --

I know I'm probably banging my head against a brick wall -- but here goes, anyway --

I've been fiddling around with SC4 since 2003 and I've been able to learn how to create lots with buildings, props, etc, and I can even open lots and manipulate the properties with some skill...(all thanks to a great deal of time and effort on the part of many helpful and talented people in our community).  BUT -- I have never been able to get the hang of making my own BATs, so I can only work with the existing creations of people with much more skill than I have.  It amounts to me trying to make do the best I can with what is already available in the game.  I'm pretty creative about it, but it has limitations.

My problem is WARSHIPS.  There are probably already enough warships in the game, but they are mostly modern.  I am seriously interested in working on a dockyard scenario with models from 1910 to 1918 of battleships and battlecruisers.  I'm not greedy -- just one or two would do.  I've been waiting and hoping for 16 years, but to no avail.

Can ANYONE make me a water-ploppable model (and a prop that can be attached to a quay) of the SMS BAYERN ??

PLEASE -- before I get too old to use it ??

Here is a link to a brief description of the ship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_Bayern

If you are interested I will endeavor to find and send to you additional photos and plan drawings.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Elevators-functional:  stackable or various heights

A 1x1 glass pedestrian elevator that will transit to various terrain levels and a 2x2 vehicle elevator like they have in New York.

Car factories- Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc. with jobs. I'm only aware of a VW factory lot, and how many people drive them?

Vine covered Antibellum mansions like they have in the south.

A really cruddy looking trailer park with actual residents. The ones we already have are too pretty and are merely landmarks.

Recreate the arcologies from SimCity 2000. Of course, actual arcology functionality is impossible, but just having them be landmarks (of the basegame kind) is fine by me.

Also, might be worth making them a lot bigger (Does 12X12 sound about right?). The paths below Launch Arco can be PaengParks paths if you want.

They're already in Cities Skylines. And there's even some fanart of Darco, and a Minecraft recreation.

EDIT: I also found this while finding the Arcos on the Steam Workshop. Even if they're non-functional they'll make City Journals look a bit better.

I made this into an R$$ Stage 8 with approx 5,000 capacity, untested but no reason it shouldn't work, simply requires the original model to work.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

It would be cool if someone created automata of UPS vans, a UPS package distribution center, and a UPS store.

Here are the van automata. Check out Simfanatik's other files, there are a lot of good ones!

This is the closest we've come to having a UPS (or FedEx dist center for that matter). I think the distribution center/warehouse space is definitely lacking.

I know for a fact that UPS distribution centers still exist that are not former Overnite buildings. There's one in the town next to mine (Rome, Ga.)

It's weird that no one has made one yet.

There are distributor lots for Lowe's, Home Depot and Wally-Mart. And a huge Amazon facility. Lots of warehouses too, lotted and in prop packs. Definitely not lacking.

The Dell one that Bobbo662 is good as well as the ones Goober did. I was thinking more large DCs with lots and lots of trucks with several of them maybe taking up a city tile. The Dollar General ones are popping up everywhere to support their large amount of stores for example.

I’ve been thinking about filling that space. We have the props, and I have a building I’ve been developing that I can use.. after the office set I am working on. I have some ideas to make it happen. Summer project maybe?

I’m done with the two floor variations and now have to move on to the one floor ones. It’ll be a little bit. I am looking at over 150 different building models for this pack.

It would be nice if somebody could make this trucking company signs.                                FedEx, Yellow, Roadway, UPS Freight, Con-way, Saia, Old Dominion Freight Lines, J.B. Hunt, R+L Carriers, Estes Express Lines, Southeastern Freight Lines, ABF Freight System, AAA Cooper. Even maybe a modular trucking terminal.
