Hi guys,

i would want to create new buildings with animations by bat in GMax. For example I would want to edit a Dutch windmill with the wind blades rotating as eolic power plant. Is it possible. How can I do?

Thanks

Hi, I'm not an expert at BAT stuff, but I believe this can be done with the Bitmap Animation Builder tool.

There's a few pics of the program's UI inside this old topic.

I hope this helps!

There's also this tutorial on the STEX. According to the SC4D topic, the BAB was founded on this tutorial, so probably the program is the best place to start. It may be helpful anyways.

Looking for a prop or texture? The SC4 Prop & Texture Catalog might help! View online here.

There is a (rather thick) tome out there called "The GMAX Bible," which is a very extensive and in-depth look at the program.
I scored a copy from an online used book dealer ages ago, and though I haven't read the section on animation, I've found the book helpful in other regards.
Some of it might not apply to BAT per se, but I am guessing there's a lot of crossover and similarity...it might be worth checking out.

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

I had a copy of that book at one point, but I never did any complex modelling. Gmax is a stripped down version of 3ds max 4.2, so references for that program may also be of some use.

Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.
