Please keep in mind that a tool for custom models or "lots" has not been released, so requests as such must be limited to modding. Any request considered a "crack" will be removed, such as unlocking Limited Edition content, altering the source code of CXL, etc. quote>

first of all great topic

i think this is the future of cxl not the new version of cxl 2011,because a firm with i dont know 200 people is ***** next to the hole "bunch of people" as to quote mr bush...

secound of all it would be great if you could create parametric design of streets (drawing a square or a circle instead of curbs linked togheter, or being able only to create rectangulars of 3/2), also building sites with only the path of the building considerable...the rest of the site should match the boundaring sreet shape...

also there should be a tool in the game to let you create your own buidings and stuff... imagine google earth combined with cxl...thats the ***** i wanna buy, culture online gaming being only able to play your own area...stuff like that )

forth of all this is too much for just 10 people togheter and for this there should be a kind of revolution in gaming, at least for this kind of games, and that is that the game should be only a tool and a engine for creating artificial life and mega cities like they say on the marketing promo of the game.if we could achive this goal wich i dont think its posible, without the help of the owner of the actual game .

The online comunity of city builders would be greater .this will create more revenues to the firm so its a sustainable concept ...

What about one-way expressways? I think I read about this somewhere, but I could be mistaken! Or like a super-road! With like 20 lanes of traffic! 9.gif But, I don't think that's possible XD

Is there anyway to make new types of bridges? Yes I know new buildings arent possible yet but for now at least be able to build any "bridge (or tunnel) model" with any type of road? For example, as of now the only type of bridge you can build with the freeways is the golden gate, but what if i want to build a small metal bridge such as with the small avenue that doesnt necessarily span such a great distance? Also the street and small roads have a nice "rural" (for lack of a better word) tunnel entrance that i might want to use with my larger avenues but when i build those tunnels I only get those awkard white squares for tunnel entrances. It would be greaat if we could get new textures for tunnel entrances, bridges, what ever is possible to do at this point.

Changing style for each road is possible, and also adding them...

For example it's possible to have 3 avenue bridges (one for "brick", one for "metal" and one for "golden gate").

And it's something pretty easy to do...

About tunnel, the tunnel entrance should be linked to the bridge used (underground)...

So, yes. It can be done.

If nobody here want to do it (or is working on something related) I'll do it tomorrow!

Changing style for each road is possible, and also adding them...

For example it's possible to have 3 avenue bridges (one for "brick", one for "metal" and one for "golden gate").

And it's something pretty easy to do...

About tunnel, the tunnel entrance should be linked to the bridge used (underground)...

So, yes. It can be done.

If nobody here want to do it (or is working on something related) I'll do it tomorrow!

lktimmons there used to be a 8 way expressway i believe, but they took it off. IM officialy requesting a 6,7,or 8 way road, if this cannot be done then im sorry for requesting it.

it can be done. a while ago i was actually trying to make a giant 12 lane road (6 lanes each way, sidewalks double-width). it was 70 units wide (whereas the freeway is only 45). the game kept crashing so there must be a limit.

either way, roads can be made for cxl because we're not adding anything, just adding textures and changing their dimensions.

How big is a unit and are these units used in "zones"?

Hello all,

I've looked around and I can't find any mod related to taxes, is there any?

Anyway, here goes my request, following the purposed format:

Request: Mod to adjust taxes and the level of tax satisfaction depending on the population wealth (skilled, elites...)

Details: Tax system is very unreal, it should be more adjustable. If the unskilled are 70% satisfacted with taxes, the elites should be 100% and laughing on the floor about it right? Doesn't happen! So the purposed mod is to adjust the taxes by wealth, exemple: if the unskilled pay 12% then the elites pay 20% and everybody is happy about it! I know it is not possible to control taxes individually, but I don't know if you can make a mod or change the game code or whatever so the skilled pay, say, 10%-12% more than the unskilled, the executives 18% more and the elites 25% more, something like that...

Game benefits: It would add realism to the game and some cash to your budget!  2.gif

Wow. Looking back, everything has come a long way as far as Cities XL modding goes. I really do appreciate all the work put into doing this as it's a pretty cool game.

I do have one request though. Since not everybody on my computer know all the tings you can or can't do when playing a game such as snapping railroads to a station, I would like to take out these certain features so that troubleshooting wont become an issue. I'm sure it would help a bunch of people out if separate packs containing different features were put out instead of an all in one. Thanks. 1.gif

what i like to see in my city, is a circuit.

this is al ready posible with the roads in the game, but wat i like is cars who can be placed like the train mod or the ships.

and i know is not posible but it will be nice if there where also tribunes and building and maybe a pit street.

I would like to see a mode made possible to make junctions of roads.

Something like the junctions with Highway.

At the start of the game we can't build highway and it takes too much time to be able to do it. and managing this would be great.

I had a look in All_layouts.pak and it seams to be a way to do this, but there is so many files for each road and i didn't tryed to make a change.

The idea would be if we intersect a road in diagonal and put this road with a 1 way road it would not create a intersection (the game call it a box intersection) but instead it would create a junction.

this way we could really increase the traffic speed on the game. and btw we all know this is how it works in real life.

There is a bug in Cities XL 2011 that I think could be fixed with a simple mod. The building/zone button that you trigger on/off, when it's on and you click on particular things, the button disappears and you have to re-enable it.

Also, when you are plopping houses, shops, offices, and factories, it should give you a preview of where you are placing it like hotels and special buildings do. That way, I can be sure that whatever building I want to plop looks right before plopping it.
