  1. Buying Tomorrow, I have some questions

I believe that the mistakes you are making in Simcity 4 that causes you to quickly go bankrupt are going to slaughter you on Cities XL 2011. The number one mistake that players make is placing more services than the city can afford. Read some of the tutorials and stuff to help you.
  2. Cities XL for 360?

Forget aboutt the Xbox 360 and just get a desktop PC that meets the requirements of Cities XL 2011. They are not even that expensive.
  3. What I wanted was to increase the capacity of the power plants so that it would power the region, just like in real life. It seems like in order to do this, I have to learn how to use Ilive's Reader. I know that simply using a mod would be a lot easier, but I just want to try to accompolish exactly what I want before resorting to plopping an ugly cheat building into my cities. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was just pointing out that I tried to do this with the Lot Editor, but I saw no way to do it. But if anyone knows about any modified Maxis power plants, please do tell. EDIT: Ah! It was so easy! Just click on the Building Tweaker, do your modifications, then save as DAT in your plugin folder.
  4. Do you even know what you are talking about? I've downloaded the Lot Editor and I don't see anywhere where I can edit the amount of power the power plants generate.
  5. Any tools I could download to modify the Maxis power plants?
  6. Easy, Medium, Hard

I was wondering the same thing. Is the disasters even worse on hard?

  8. I have a city of 50,000, everything seems to be running okay, but whenever I zone new residential, hardly anyone wants to move in! What gives? The demand for residential is high. I want some detailed information about how these population caps work and whatnot? How many parks/rewards do I have to build to raise it, or if there's any other way? EDIT: Is there any mods to remove these population caps?

Um, I hate to say this, but GlobexCo is dead. [Too rude, but I left part of the post - edit by GlobexCo]

Why don't you use MediaFire? It has no waiting times, even for free users, whatsoever.
  11. Keeping the rich seperated from the poor.

Well, I got the no-Maxis-mansions mod and it works pretty well. Now my towns/suburbs look more realistic.
  12. Keeping the rich seperated from the poor.

Well, I guess that I am just so used to Citites XL's way of doing residences, but even then, I remember in SimCity 3000, you couldn't get mansions unless you put a bunch of parks in an area and made sure that it was crime-free, had high heath, education, etc. I guess the problem in Simcity 4 with the mansions being in-between the slums is because the way of handling demand is different from both Simcity 3000 and Cities XL. The demands between the different wealth levels of Sims is different. But at the same time, it's way too easy to get high land value in Simcity 4, it seems like. So it creates a problem where the $ and $$$ residents are everywhere, but the $$ residents are rare.
  13. I am relatively new to Simcity 4, and I have been playing a city that is about 40,000 in population. One thing that is bothering me is that among a bunch of slums, there are big mansions placed here and there. How can I stop this? It bothers me because these mansions look very out of place in their otherwise slummy neighborhoods, and why would rich Sims want to live amongst poor Sims? There is also a great lack of middle-class sims, for some reason. Land value among my residential zones is generally high, with a few parks, adequate hospital, fire, and school coverage.
  14. Is SimCity 4 Dead?

It's such a shame that SC4 runs so badly on newer hardware.
