As of that Sinkhole to China Bug

That has happened to me too. I think it's because of uneven terrian. Anyways, nice first start on interchanges, fonzey!

@Ganaram & NTM, thanks for the critiques! I'll try to make the curves smoother and hopefully get better!

since I can't get simcity4 to start with this disk (Wrong one maybe...) eastside.pngdisregard the terrain.

How do you get the roads to split like that? I always end up with intersections...

(Yes, I finally managed to find a download)

Edit: Almost forgot!

Wiimeiser, select one (or more) road nodes and checkmark the Merge/Split field. ;)

While I'm at it, I might as well show some pictures of my new symmetric 5-way interchange.

It's getting foggy:

You might want to check your directions again. For instance, the cloverleaf ramp at the south-west corner doesn't go to the HWY-1, but instead you take a U-turn back on the HWY-6...

Beside that, why don't you just build a cloverleaf or a clover-windmill? Plenty of room here...

I'll fix that ASAP.

What's a clover-windmill?

Looks a bit like this (a clover-turbine), but with tighter curves:

665px-CloverStackIntersection.svg.png

The advantage of this interchange in contrast with a regular cloverleaf is that there's no weaving, improving traffic flow, while the interchange is still relatively cheap. I created a rather large one in my region Schellingen-Stadt:

The profile could be at least 40% smaller, but you get the general idea ;)

I hope this clarifies the case.

Best,

Maarten

Nice. Where did you get the RHW-2 FLUP's?

They are at the back of the "Road viaduct over RHW" menu.

Those are the FLEXFly curves, found in the FLEXFly RHW menu. They overhang so you can put them in awkward places where normal puzzle pieces won't fit.

Ah, I don't found the FLEXFly RHW menu. What should I do?

That explanation is a little bit wrong.

They're found under the RHW Wide Radius Curves menu (last item in the tab ring) and they're overrideable puzzle pieces. Essentially, it's a puzzle piece that you can drag RHW through to create many variations.

There is a new piece using the same theories coming in the new RHW, but it's not a FlexFly.

One of my big ones...I didnt put a lot of technical thought in to it. I knew I wanted to put a RHW interchange in my city somewhere and I just started to create.

elizabethcitysep1661309.jpg

This one is super simple. I got bored and built this one

indianspringsmay1302130.png

And finally I needed some connectivity for my airport and took the easy way out...

Isn't having a roadway running directly under an airport rather dangerous? One car bomb could ruin your whole day.

I think those are quite common. In Zaventem ("Brussels Airport"), we have a tunnel under one runway, and some railway tunnels. Same in Paris, Charles de Gaulle, where highway A1 goes in a tunnel under the airport.
