Haljackey,

PLEASE supply us with a link for that trumpet style stock highway interchange.

If it's in the RHW3, then I don't have it yet lol

It's in the updated NAM 2.gif

Nice interchanges everyone! although I gave up on v2 of RHW because of the malfunctioning of the road to MIS(no cars could get on... my highway), I might consider trying again, seen what you all do now.

@Legoman: It's in the new NAM (Jan 2009). Go to the "Highways" menu, click on "Custom Interchanges", hit and , and it should be there. Make sure you also have the new NAM essentials.

Here is a large, partly collector/express interchange:

West side loop:

Center:

East:

Collector/Express Exchange (East):

Edit: Looks like I forgot to turn off the grid

I don't know what to put here anymore.

That's a complex interchange system you have there, Vince, and it appears as though everything works.  I especially like the picture labeled "East," as it is one of the more original uses of the MIS I have seen.

    mitsos I swear you make some of the best Maxis highway networks and interchanges. They just look so awesome!

    I'm also seeing some excellent RHWs on this page. Nice work everyone!

    Keep showing us your interchanges!

    this is really only an idea, and i don't even think its possible.

    Red=ground level

    blue=2nd level

    green=3rd level

    yellow=4th level

    Its a Y/T hybrid

    tyinterchangeby2.jpg

    Ill be posting a few pics of my SUPER 2 next post.

    There's a challenge! Certaintly won't be exactly what you posted, but probably possible.

    moose, this interchange idea looks terribly awesome.

    i can vividly imagine placing such a monster.

    but I'm afraid nobody will model it in a given time and recreating it with puzzle pieces don't seem to be possible, at least not with 4 levels of roads

    Sorry folks for not having posted here in a long time, but recently I lacked some inspiration and thus had the game a bit on the backburner.

    But as I saw bluemoose's drawing today, I couldn't hold back, fired up SC4 and gave it a try. The following is a quick and dirty (read: no real beautification and fine tuning) but fully workable version of a combined T/Y interchange. I hope that it's reasonably similar to your idea 1.gif.

    Sorry also for this post being short and without comments, but my next one will be more detailed, I promise 12.gif.

    bluemoose - here's my atttempt. As I say, not exact by any means - 4 levels is simply not possible. But it's close enough.

    For some reason, Imageshack is only letting me upload really small pictures, so apologies for that. I should also point out that it's LHD.

    I'll have some of my interchanges out of the Patrician Showcase soon, and post them here.

    rushman: Simplicity often breeds efficiency and clarity. It sure does in your case.

    Gammro: I'd advise you try RHW 3.0. It takes a while to orient yourself with it, and be prepared to do a few practice interchanges at first, but you can do a lot with it.

    Blue Lightning: I think that's a drive for maniacs! There's too much weaving and too many tight turns.

    mitsos: It may numerically be trumpet overkill, but I must confess it looks good. Great job with the beautification, and the interchange fits into its environment. The best interchange is the one that does not stand out from its surroundings, but rather compliments them -- like the Golden Gate Bridge.

    clonedclone87: A nice looking intersection. It has that "small town" feel.

    Soulchaser: Looks good, but why doesn't it connect to any other roads? As it stands now, it's only a transfer between sides of the freeway.

    Bluemoose Challengers: Both of your attempts look good, and I'll give it a try myself -- with beautification. It may even find use in my cities 3.gif.

    DavidBrown: A very peculiar problem. If Imageshack doesn't work, try another image hosting site, such as Photobucket.

    I'm liking what I'm seeing around here.

    pat-max: the pic was taken just after been built to connect the two parts of land. I just thought the construction would be clearer without any further development. I just didn't want to overload this tiny pic2.gif

    Some of these interchanges boggle the mind!

    I've been playing about a bit.  Here's my modest contribution:

    interchange1st.jpg

    interchange2st.jpg

    It'll do for me!  You'll never see any monster spaghetti junctions from me.  I tend to switch to Maxis highways when I need high capacity, small space roads.  I like to give the simple ones a chance though in my rural and suburban areas.

    This one's from a new region in my nation of New Gelderland, near the city of New Rotterdam 4.gif

    So today was the first day I could experiment with the new RHW. I made three interchanges, a T, a diamond and a Texas style diamond (with the frontage roads, in a high traffic area).

    So here is the diamond with the frontage roads... and the MIS going over them,

    industrialareawithfreewag2.jpg

    That is all.

    Wow, great work everyone. Mitsos, your waterfront area looks amazing, I love the layout of the freeways. Psander5, good use of the RHW, it really sets a nice rural scene. un1, that's a nice diamond interchange.

    Here is an interchange from the city of Wellwood in my CJ - Fortune.

    In the UK, we call it a dumbbell interchange. They are very common, especially on newer motorways and dual carriageways.

    Let me also throw in a sense of amazement. I'm seeing some truly wonderful work here from everyone! Well done!

    selles: Try not to curve your raised one-way puzzle pieces. They look kinda odd and unrealistic. Other than that nice work!

    Keep showing us your interchanges!

    Best,
