This is my second time making an interchange with the RHW, not perfect and not full access(lots of little complications) but I'm sure with time I will get better and hopefully be able to fix it.

Those are some good looking interchanges! Good use of smooth curves.

This interchange is in a city I have last touched on May 2012. Access to all directions provided, but that avenue can't pass under. Also, there's that weaving on the highway.

Hi,

I've been working on a particular interchange that I would like to show you.

I was also wondering if you guys could give a piece of advice in order to improve it, in order to make it more tight. Here's the drawing of the interchange indicating the levels and the direction of the different ramps (L0 for level 0 (0 meters); L1 for level 1 (7.5 meters) and L2 for level 2 (15 meters)):

And here's the interchange:

My idea for this interchange is based on this example in Burlington, Ontario, Canada:

zimmie/Geometrymath Algebra: Thanks for the suggestions!

Now, I've never thought of Interchanges as 'sexy', but damn, those FA curves really did a number here:

Even looks great at night:

I think Haljackey built an interchange like this

I think Haljackey built an interchange like this

Yup... From the RHW 5.0 era.

-I decided to make it full access too, adding in the connections that are not there in real life.

    And further up the road:

Looks good, especially with the smooth curves.

A suggestion about your avenue underpass: What about making an overpass with two L1 RHW-4 lanes instead? You can drag those over the diagonal MIS. And you can connect RHW-4 to one-way roads and connect those in turn to an avenue. This may probably make it necessary to find another way for the SAM 2 Herringbone street currently connecting your residential area with your industrial area, however.

Squared off roundabout with overpasses and access road connectivity.

Inspired by the intersection of Texas Loop 340 and US.84 in Waco, Texas.

Nice work! The connector roads are integrated well into it.

If memory serves me correct, I believe they are called volleyball interchanges.

Yup, that's a volleyball. Not grade-seperated and bearing the basic concept of a square roundabout.

I had not thought of that. For the street, I would upgrade the underpass portion to a road.

When I widened this highway from 4 to 6 lanes to take when the new smooth curves came out. it was a huge pain to redo this interchange due to the fact its on a hill

Though I haven't really gotten into the RHW yet,  but for your AVE situation, you can forgo the FLUPS and just terraform the ground to create a default tunnel for the Ave underneath the RHW.

Since it's hard to explain How-To,check out this vid. Even though it's for a tunnel underwater, the same can apply to your situation.

Nice! I like your work. Its nice how you design everything out firsthand to ensure its done correctly. Keep going with these posts, they're intriguing.

This is my second interchange, I feel like I'm starting to get more comfortable with the RHW. Pardon the grid, I use it when building roads.

Hm. I would make that so there is a one tile gap between the ramp leaving the through highway and onto the surface arterial and the ramp leading from the ending highway onto the through highway, and connect the two using C1 ramps. That way, there is no redundant route on the through highway. Anyway, not bad for a second RHW interchange.

Thanks for the input. You are talking about the section where the the two 2 lane highways merge into 4? if so I had intended that cars could exit onto the avenue. It's kind of like a trumpet but that area also functions as an exit to the avenue.

It will likely be the last interchange in my 'Building A City From Scratch' video series.

The Autobahn interchange and railway viaduct of Jinnville. It will be an important seaport for salt export and import for the southern prefectures.
