    Nice work SMF!

I finally surrounded this interchange with development. Interesting to see how traffic use is shifting directions as the simulation runs. One month sims are going one way, another they are going the exact opposite way :P.

Volumes are getting high in some places too

    Here's something...

May I suggest that on the continuation of the southern half of the one highway, you use smooth curves?

But otherwise, that is a great interchange you've built. :D

The bottom of this image contains a local-express setup. This aerial picture was taken north of the basketweave interchange I posted last week.

One freeway goes east while the other continues north until a 90-degree curve takes it west. Traffic is currently low because rush hour hasn't started yet.

Nice work Pioneer, I like the smoothness and the FAMIS really adds to it. Working with those smooth curves right next to the overpasses must have been a terrible pain. Upon second look I do see stability issues on the MIS lane passing underneath the RHW6.

Speaking of pain: South Josephinia Cross. Windmill-Cloverleaf-Hybrid.

    SouthJosephiniaCross_zps24aaee32.png

No weaving, which is awesome. I originally wanted to do a complete windmill but scrapped that idea in favour of this hybrid which is more common anyway and looks a little more interesting if I do say so myself.

I also do not know why the westbound-northbound ramp goes around that way.

Was this directed at me? :O Because if so I don't understand what you mean, west to north is 90 degrees and the right and left turners leave the highway at the same point and get split later, this is beneficial to speed and safety.

Edit: Eh sorry, didn't want that emoticon to look so agressive. :D

What a monster, Lost Realist! Might steal. :P

Just completed a mosaic featuring possibly the highest capacity trumpet interchange ever. :O

Go ahead. :P And yeah, that can handle some traffic. Looks nice and tidy, too.

Now you only have to build a super-dense mega downtown there in order to fit with a mega highway.

No, that was directed at Pioneer.

I guess I just don't understand why the ramp should go all the way and loop around when a much shorter ramp could be made instead.

There is a freeway overpass over an avenue east of the interchange. Slope wouldn't allow me.

Looks like a case of over-capacity you have there, Geometry :P

If you build it, they will come.

Geometry: I think that's the first time I've seen a 3-lane loop ramp. Looks very cool!

Speaking of which, my new DDI is starting to get some use now that the area around it is being developed.

I think that bug was fixed. EDIT: Here it is.

Anyways, that looks pretty good. I never used the diverging diamond pieces, but I might try them now.

Looks really nice and smooth! However, I'd use a Flex-fly insteadof the loop in the upper right corner. But ah well, I'm a Flex-Fly guy  :golly:

Very nice. That gave me an idea about possibly extending this RHW south:

    Extremely rough concept

    9n87EW5.jpg

    Full size image: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Haljackey/photos/bitmap.png

At the bottom, the RHW would continue as an arterial (probably OWRs), so there really isn't a need for a full interchange (ramps for all directions).

I'd figure now is the time to do it as volumes are high and most of the area is undeveloped.

Sounds like You're going to have a great time with SC4 Hal! You have my axe! :)

I thought about it. However there is river on the north east corner. That makes it more complicated and left me with no room to make smooth flex-fly to mis transition to the ground followed by MIS-to-FAMIS to RHW6 FA ramp :) It probably would end few tiles after river bank. Sadly that's the limit of sc4.

I think the loop is nice, and more realistic, as it uses an earthen ramp. unfortunately FLEX-Fly doesn't have slope tolerance, so it's sort of an expensive network to build in RL.

I've seen one loop on three-way interchanges when there are (or were) plans to extend the ending highway. It gives room in case of a conversion of the interchange to a cloverstack.

So I wanted nice, smooth and smaller interchange, but then i got carried away with RHW and FA pieces... that's the result:

    Warning: over 9mb mosaic.

That's rad, looks really smooth and all, just the weaving is a bit of a concern but you got the best you could get at such limited space.

I love the city that surrounds it as well as the interchange! What terrain mod is that? Mine's too green.

I made a three-quarter cloverstack, but I don't know. I'm not quite happy with how it looks. Don't know why.

I love it! Terrain does look a little bit too green though.

What terrain mod are you using?  I actually like that green better than anything else I've seen.  Just the right color.

PS:  Lovely intersection.  Gonna try this one myself later today though those puzzle pieces irritate me to no end.  The last thing you mentioned about not being totally satisfied with it, is that why it looks like angry face?

That's the thing that bothers me either :D ... Isn't thaat the part of the upcoming NAM 32?

Anyway, at the time being i wanted to try this design myself and already completed it... just looking for any host that I can upload this huge interchange and paste it here. I'll share as fast as I upload it somewhere.

And my thanks to @Burwellian for showing partially unrolled cloverleaf design that was great help for me :)
