    That's a transition piece and thus I can't put a ramp on it.  ;)

Surely you can tinker around and fit it in?

A high capacity diamond interchange hooking onto a major expressway.

Mostly Industry. Maybe some small shoppes, I built it that high capacity so both commuters and freight would have enough wiggle room for massive volumes.

Simple, but elegant interchange, TopDeej! But please use for you to have AVE-6 medians, in that way, your interchange will be a lot more lovely!

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Edit 2: How's this? Didn't make the interchange much smaller but it helped straighten out that ramp, even without a smooth curve piece.

It's an expressway-to-freeway connection so smooth curves aren't needed, by my standards anyway (only freeway-to-freeway connections must require them).

You can redesign that with FARHW pieces so it can be smoother. Here's what I meant:

^^^^I felt the same way when watching the video. The use of puzzle pieces would certainly be more slope tolerant than the starter on the end of the E1 ramp. Don't know if it would be enough of a slope to get where you want, but since you already compromised.... I also think that FARamps look a little bit more realistic in some cases, but the slope tolerance abilities has made it more than useful enough to make them my ramp of choice for close-quarter slopes.

EDIT: I recently tested my claim, and found that FA Ramps are indeed more useful for adjacent slopes and getting said slopes to look decent. However, the slopes are slight, which means that while it's bounds better than the forced flatness induced by diagonal MIS starters, there's still not a lot you can do with it for the steeper gradients.

Haljackey, what slope mod do you use for RHW? I removed RHW from my slope mod to build steeper networks, but found that it produces some undesirable behavior when plopping puzzle pieces or starters (ground flattening/raising, instead of rejecting the piece); it was ruining my slopes.

Thanks for the tip, I always appreciate constructive feedback! I'll give it a whirl in my next vid but sadly I don't have high hopes that it will work. FARHW has better slope tolerance, but I think it might be (just a bit) too much for it to fit. Worth a shot though, that's for sure! :D

Not in a way that gives me any room (it's right on the edge of the tile).

    RHW4 Splitter. Splitter. Splitter. Splitter.

It splits. RHW4 to two MIS. Should work, should fit.

Hard to believe but I have been using the RHW for almost 8 years. Goes to show you even experienced users value feedback... I would have never thought of that! :bunny:

Oh and a video of me fixing it up (I do it at the beginning).

My last post in this topic was exactly 1 year and 11 days ago. I start with the same interchange I ended with. I only replaced the MIS's with RHW-4 (I personally wouldn't like to drive here I think).

    Just some pictures ...

While experimenting with reducing the footprint of stack interchanges, I built this variant. While the actual stack with the crossing MIS is quite small, the through lines are 12 tiles apart, making this interchange look quite big.
    Stack_type2.jpg

I like this variant better as the width here is only 8 tiles which makes the whole interchange look more compact.
    Stack_type1.jpg

However, it has not always to be RHW. What aobut OWR instead? :D

The last one for today is a Full Diamond Interchange, also called a Gothic Interchange.

    Enjoy :)

    Enjoy :D

Why not for the last interchange use FARR  split ramps and pieces instead of the lane reductions and expansions after the overpass.
