  1. Banners pack of the future CJ

They look great, and it looks like you could easily make others, like: the quarantine symbol, the Nuke symbol, game events for soccer/football, etc., a no zombies allowed flag, special events and concerts.   A Nuke banner leading up to my nuclear reactor and a quarantine/no zombies banner leading up to my disease research center would be great.
  2. Show us your Highest Population!

After a couple months of trying different designs i finally hit 1.1m sims in a Med tile on hard mode: And this is the final design I came up with, it fixed the issues I was having with subways and parks interfering with zoning 4x4 and 5x5 blocks needed to get the bigger skyscrapers: So, 1.1m sims, no com or ind, no demand mods, RHW/NWM and Bullet train were used and it even looks good at night:
  3. Okay, ic what you're saying. Granted its not realistic, but I'm going to setup a second bullet train line in the residential city and have that go directly south with no splits. Based on what you're saying it should work since any sims riding it will not see any jobs to the north.
  4. Not sure what I'm dealing with, either a bug/problem with city tile/or this is just how the NAM 31.2 Traffic simulator works when on Mass Transit Med (American). I have a bullet train line coming into a city tile, it drops off passengers and continues to a Northern city with IHT jobs and splits off to a Southern city with Commercial jobs. Sims go north on the rail to a tune of over 20k, and 0 south. The southern City has over 200k jobs, but no commuters and 1k residents (all the buildings in this city are fully employed and not dilapidated), the RHW also shows no car traffic, just freight. Rather than write a wall of text of everything I've tried so far, I made a video. Use the 480p setting for quality, the default is a little blurry: http://youtu.be/HdYq3Xq6ZZg No narration, the only microphone I have was bad or something, I couldn't even understand what I was saying. In the meantime, I have ran a subway line from the Residential city to the Southern city, and it is being used fine, over 20k Sims use it. I'm kinda stumped here, any thoughts or something else I could try?
  5. high tech models mod

Another mod to check out is the Industrial Revolution Mod by T Wrecks: What is this mod? The Industrial Revolution Mod (IRM in short) is designed to make playing with industrial lots much more enjoyable. It addresses some of the most annoying shortcomings of Maxis' industrial lots: The lots themselves look boring and repetitive The resulting industrial areas look cluttered and unrealistic Everything mixes wildly - modern and old, high-tech and heavy industry There is no real control - a dirty industry lot might grow right in the middle of a high-tech area and cause the high-tech facilities to dilapidate with its pollution If at least one of these points has always bothered you, then this mod might be something for you. One caveat however: Can I simply add this mod to a pre-existing city/region? Yes and no. It is possible with some drawbacks, but it is not recommended. The reason for this is that I changed lot sizes. When you add this mod "on the fly" (i.e., when you already have industrial areas), the lots will suddenly extend over adjacent tiles (transport networks, empty terrain, other lots), and the industrial area will look all chaotic and garbled. You will have to bulldoze it and rebuild it anyway. After bulldozing, some tiles will refuse to disappear. You can simply zone over these tiles and de-zone again, this will make them disappear. If you do add this mod and intend to continue playing with your existing industrial areas, I strongly recommend backing up your region before.
  6. The Next Person...

Nope, never even read the books. TNP has no idea who James Cameron is.
  7. Show us Your Interchanges!

zimmie/Geometrymath Algebra: Thanks for the suggestions! Now, I've never thought of Interchanges as 'sexy', but damn, those FA curves really did a number here: Even looks great at night:
  8. Show us Your Interchanges!

kellydale2003: That's a nice before/after shot, definitely shows you can retro fit RHW into a city without wiping out half of it. Like I did recently Update on my T-Bone Interchange: I made some changes to it per some suggestions, went with a N/S RHW4 L1 instead of a N/W one for now and got some curves in I also built my first Diverging Diamond Interchange: I needed higher capacity for the on/off ramps here so i built it with RHW4 instead of MIS. The curves could be better, but i just cant find a way to make them work off the 8S D2 splitter connection.
  9. Show us Your Interchanges!

RE: GeometryMath Algebra and Pioneer: Thanks for the suggestions, I'll see what I can do!
  10. Show us Your Interchanges!

Here's my first ever T-Bone interchange with RHW-8S: Had to demolish everything west of this to get it to connect to a port city i built, but with the 8S network already in place it was quite the challenge to build it backwards from the tutorial. Counting tiles has never been so mind numbing...
  11. NAM General Support

Haljackey: IC now what i need to do, thanks! Is that a photo from your 'from scratch' series? If so, i'd like to know what part so i could go back and watch you build it. Thanks for the help!
  12. NAM General Support

There are NWM overpass designs in the pipeline, but the development schedule for release is currently unavailable to the public. I can safely say that it is extremely unlikely that it will be included in NAM 32 (around 99.99%). When released it will likely be in flex pieces and not the puzzle pieces you're currently using. That being said, higher capacity (and an ARD-3 overpass) can be created by using the RHW to cross the (8C) highway; they can also be lower in height. Also, what version of the NAM are you using? I'm using the current 31.2 version. If i use the RHW to cross, can i still use the RD4N? Or am i looking at retro-fitting the entire section? Any chance you could do a quick mockup of what you're thinking? When i was building this i don't remember finding any way to get RHW over RHW and get it to connect to RD (anything).
  13. NAM General Support

Is there a better way to do this intersection? I have a RHW 8C mainline that i want to connect to a RD4 Narrow, but i cant find a way to get RD4N over the 8c, just the standard RD's and Ave's. This is what I have: Before I tear it down to use the RD4N to RD transition pieces, is there a way to do the RD4N over 8C?
  14. The Worst Song You've Ever Heard

The Waitresses: I know what boys like. To this day my friends and I still cant believe a record producer actually listened to the demo tape and said, "Hell yeah! Sign them up! We'll even do a video for this new fangled MTV station!". From their 1982 album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4X_pmHr7zW8
  15. Thanks for the tips, i do want the houses to be functional so i'll check out the SAM streets.
