Hay @SC4Fanatic2004, check out the first post in this thread, found here- https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/30082-bat-request-thread/?do=findComment&comment=797317. Might have good results getting the buildings in the game.

Oh, I really miss some urban shopping malls (maybe 5x5 or 6x6 buildings covering a whole block) for high density areas. We have plenty of suburban big horizontal malls available on STEX, but very few urban, vertical ones like these:

Beiramar Shopping - Florianópolis, Brazil

imagem4261_1.jpg

Diamond Mall - Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Praia de Belas Shopping - Porto Alegre, Brazil

Edit: Shopping Conjunto Nacional, Brasília - Brazil

04a073903aae82a6d7f036d6853cd419.png

It would be great a version of Conjunto Nacional as it used to be from the 1970s until the 1990s, with neon sigs instead of those awful cheaper vinyl banners.

conjunto-nacional.jpg

Or also some unassuming, old school, gap-filling, narrow, w2w malls found in busy downtowns like these:

Della Giustina Shopping (1980s) - Criciúma, Brazil

80-Shopping-1.jpg

Or not too unassuming like Toronto Eaton Centre.

However, going back to the realm of the suburban malls, I think that Starcourt Mall (from Stranger Things), especially with those neon lights, would be so great.

I started modeling Diamond Mall years ago due to its very simple shape and facades - usually other shopping centers will have irregular shapes that won't fit SC4 grid - but I got frustrated because I didn't remember its entrances are in different levels and I'd have to adapt one of them (probably excluding the staircase) making the model too monotonous. I still have its rough sketch though, maybe I can do something with it in a distant future.

That's right! I remember seeing it on your list of projects somewhere, like many years ago. Actually, I was looking forward to see it, but I forgot it with time, lol.

And I believe it would be a great job regardless of the level, because it is barely noticeable (at least from Google Street View), I think it can be fixed.

By the way, the pictures are more to show only the overall concept of those malls (so uniquely common here in Brazil), and request something slightly similar, not the actual buildings, since some of them just wouldn't fit on a SC4 regular grid (unless they were overhanging lots).

+1

Also it is striking to me just how dense Philly was/is.  And also how they deformed the street grid to build these towers!

Don't worry about it dude. If nothing else, it highlights the continuing demand for someone to make this building in-game.

I wonder if anybody remember a creator, Jon M? Back in 2010 he was working on a canal called The Urban River Project. It was a truly amazing set that never made it to the STEX.                   I stumbled upon it the other year but unfortunately I didn't save the pictures of this spectacular project. Now pictures are gone. Too bad. Now I wonder if anybody was smarter than me and saved some pictures of this unfinished gem. If You have some pictures laying around somewhere please put them on display here and maybe some of our great artists will get tempted to do something like that. I think we could have good use for some more decorative and cityesque canals... Grungy is cool but sometimes the cleaner, more exclusive inner city look is preferable...
