Hey, i want to recreate my home city, Allentown. The only problem is that Allentown has one significant skyscraper. I was wondering if anyone could recreate it?

Westfield Shopping Centre

Nightlighting

Description:

Westfield Group operates one of the world's largest shopping centre portfolios with investment interests in 103 shopping centres across Australia, the United States, the United KingdomNew Zealand and Brazil.  The Westfield shopping centre depicted above is located in Doncaster, Victoria, Australia just outside of Melbourne.  Common major retail companies that occupy these centres are Coles, Woolworths, Myer, Kmart, Target, and David Jones.  Australian Westfield shopping centres commonly have their car parks tucked in the building itself (such as a garage/parking structure) unlike many American shopping centres that have flat car parks that sprawl outwards.

Westfield Doncaster Wikipedia

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Having a Westfield shopping centre would be beneficial to the community, especially those building non-American themed cities due to the lack of non-American shopping centres on the STEX/LEX (and a lack of large shopping centres in general).  Current "malls" listed on the STEX/LEX are all branded with American retail shops, many of which you won't find in other countries.  Therefore, those who wish to build Australian/Euro themed cities have no options of shopping centres available.  The great thing about lotting a Westfield is that the only "brand name" you really need to include (at a minimum) on the exterior of the building is "Westfield", therefore this lot can appeal even to those building American themed cities as Westfield operates there as well (however it would be nice to have the Australian stores branded on it somewhere).  In conclusion, Westfield shops are well known and a common shopping destination in Australia, and no medium to large sized city is complete without a few decent shopping centres thrown into its suburbs.

Skyline-Cleveland-Ohio-night-1-z.jpg

Those big 3 skyscrapers (from left to right): Key Tower, Terminal Tower, and the BP Building, all in Cleveland, Ohio.

I know that the Key Tower already has a BAT, but it's not exactly high quality.

These can be beneficial to the community because they would make perfect skyscrapers for a city skyline, and the Terminal Tower is one of the greatest art deco skyscrapers every constructed.

Ridgecrest Cinemas

Description: A large cinema that can play up to 6 movies in total (3 in 3D and 3 in 2D) either in 2D or 3D.  It was built during the perk of Ridgecrest so that the people can watch movies. Most of the people still go to this cinema to this day.

Location on google map:https://maps.google.com/maps?safe=off&ie=UTF-8&q=Ridgecrest+Cinemas&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Ridgecrest+Cinemas&cid=219195417806177363&ei=Hny6UuTbLc-FoQSsiIH4Cg&ved=0CLcBEPwSMAk

Why would this be beneficial for the game or community: It would be beneficial to the game because, it would be useful for small town or cities so that lower and middle classes can enjoy movies for cheap and also improve the mayor rate. They aren't many cinemas within this game and the community would love another cinema.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It's one of the most modern stadiums in the world and it's going to be on FIFA World Cup 2014. There's not brazilian stadiums for SimCity 4, how can the best country in football not to have a stadium on the game?! I'll be really greatfull if some of you do it.

If i didn't consider myself unofficially "retired" from BAT I might tackle these myself; however, seeing as there is something of a niche for porting SC3k buildings into SC4 I thought I might make a formal request.  I'm not aware that anybody has done these already.

A couple of CO$$$ art deco beauties, the Kong (left) and Gold (right) towers:

Clarkson-Aug222175-41779.jpg

Also, at a lower priority, the CO$$$ Justin Brown Plaza:

Clarkson-Aug222175-41837.jpg

If anybody wants more info such as closer screenshots or has other buildings they may recall, let me know.  I just installed and fired up SC3k for the first time since before SC4 was released just for the nostalgia from looking at my old cities again .

Hey there,

I am making an Antarctic themed region and I was wondering: would it be possible for some BATers (batters?) to whip up some cool icebergs on request? I've seen a lot of tropical plopables but icebergs would be new.

I would love to see more Tokyo buildings, most notably...
The Tokyo Skytree Complex
http://jto.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/nn20120221i1a.jpg

Description

In the Taito District of Tokyo stands a 2000+ feet broadcast tower that dominates the skyline. It is a steel latice tower with two observation decks, one 350 meters and another at 450 meters. It is currently the tallest broadcasting tower on Earth surpassing the Canton Tower.

NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/30/NTT_DoCoMo_Yoyogi_Building_2009_cropped.jpg

 Description

It is the tallest skyscraper (non-tower) in Tokyo in terms of pinnacle height. Like most of Tokyo's tallest skyscrapers, it is located in the Shinjuku district. It has a large clock on two sides of the tower.

Shinjuku Park Tower
http://c1038.r38.cf3.rackcdn.com/group1/building7860/media/02dg73m.jpg

Description

It is a hotel skyscraper in the Shinjuku District of Tokyo. It has a "step down" design with three segments moving downward (or upward depending on your view). It is most notable for the setting of the film Lost in Translation.

Why these would be beneficial for the game or community

With the lack of Tokyo BATS, these are among my top buildings to be batted. Many who appreciate Tokyo architecture would love to see more BATs in this area. Also, IMO, they are aesthetically pleasing structures that should be in-game.

Dude, all of those you listed for New York City and not one building in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, or Staten Island? Wow. Just bustin' ya chops man, but there ain't squat for stuff for the other 4 boroughs. I like your Beantown suggestions though, add Fenway Park to that list. :)

Actually, I do have a couple buildings I was going to add that aren't in Manhattan. But I felt like I was asking too much already. I'm actually making my own version of Liberty City from GTA IV, but it'll combine landmarks other northeast cities, not just NYC and I'm focusing on one borough at a time starting with Manhattan's doppleganger, Algonquin.

But with that in mind, there are a few non Manhattan buildings I'll post just for the hell of it.

Colman Dock / Pier 52, Seattle

800px-Colman_Dock_%28Pier_52%29_from_Col

"Colman Dock (Pier 52) from Columbia Center.jpg" by AtomicTaco via Wikimedia Commons (full resolution)

Other images: Google Street View | Waiting lanes

Description: Seattle's Pier 52, located on Elliot Bay between the city's central waterfront to the north and the Port of Seattle to the south, is the home of the flagship terminal for Washington State Ferries, the largest ferry system in the United States and the fourth largest in the world. Colman Dock, as the terminal itself is called, is served by two routes that carried over 8.5 million passengers and over 2.5 million vehicles coming from/going to Bremerton on the Kitsap Peninsula and Bainbridge Island. (source [PDF])

Links: Wikipedia | WSDOT (official website) | Google Maps

Why BAT it: A BAT of Colman Dock would fulfill two areas where the SC4 is lacking in good custom content: stuff from Seattle, the largest city in the Pacific Northwest, and ferry terminals suitable for large cities, instead of existing ferry terminals on the STEX that would suit the other terminals on the Puget Sound. Bonus if someone replaces the Maxis ferries with any of the WSF fleet.

I would like to see more auto dealerships. Particularly Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, BMW, Acura, Lexus, Land Rover, Jaguar, Nissan, Infiniti....

I am aware that mikeseith has created a few I just mentioned and they are pretty good, so I was thinking a variety of architectural styles would give a more real world feel to our cities.

I'd post some pics from around town but the "add Image" button is not wanting to cooperate.

These would be beneficial to SimCity as more than a commercial enterprise. These could be made into business deals, or a pack of rewards when the city reaches a certain point in its commercial population.

I hope somebody makes a model for a Barnes & Nobles, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Fendi, Chanel and other luxury stand alone shops. They are really good in making shopping districts aside from the existing SimGoober stores. The Barnes & Nobles isn't really a luxury but it would be interesting to add some book shops too, well FullyBooked will also do good. :)

Hi mates,

would like to ask for a lot that I think woud fit perfectly in my game and also in your cities. Would like to request someone to create a landmark of the Tower of Hercules, that is a roman lighthouse with a cover of the XVIII century, is the oldest lighthouse in the world still working and declared heritage of the humanity by the UNESCO recently. Is in the city of A Coruna in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain.

More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Hercules

And here a 3D model I found: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-tower-hercules/694262

Thank you so much if you do  :)

The Sears Crosstown Building In Memphis is a building that I would love to see someone create and would LOVE to see in SC4.

Art Deco style 1.5 million sq. ft. Sears distribution center and store that has been shuttered for 20 years, but being refurbished and repuposed currently.

The Sears Crosstown Building is an art deco high-rise building in Memphis, Tennessee. The building was designed by Nimmons & Co., and construction was completed in 1927. It was one of the first Sears stores designed to attract customers by being situated in a relatively open area of the city and providing a large amount of free parking.[1] The Crosstown Building was a premier Sears retail store for more than 60 years.[2] The building became vacant in the early 1990s after Sears closed many of the buildings it had constructed in the 1920s:[3] the store that had occupied the lower floors was closed in 1983, and the catalog distribution center in 1993.[4]

Attempts by various organizations have begun to repurpose the high-rise.[5] The Crosstown Arts project is working on resurrecting the building as a "mixed-used vertical urban village." Developers received commitments from nine prospective tenants called "founding partners" to fill more than 600,000 square feet of the building with various uses, most notability health care.[6] The rebirth is based on a series of Sears reconstructions, most notably the Midtown Exchange in Minneapolis, which was a Sears retail store and was then completely repurposed.

It's kind of funny how people just want everbody to make everything that pops up into their heads without even checking if they have already been done before or if there's a reason to make this. If you would read the thread rules you would notice that you are supposed to give a reason and a describtion like why the building would be awesome for the community and not throw in whatever you want instead of trying to them yourself. I think if you would have read the rules and mind them, several people wouldn't even have posted in here or, at least, would have retought their lists.
