I missed these updates.... Great monuments, especially the Neyland stadium, and the Princess Catherine's palace. Robinia and Balalonia are two very nice cities, with an italian look. The hanging gardens are very beautiful, great work, as usual.

I loooooooooove chocolates !! Here is my order.

    East Tenne: Hammer Time!

Exploiting the rich fishing grounds of the Tenne coast is always a priority with Schulminions. Along the southeastern coast, the town of Knoxvegas serves as administrative center of the fish camps set up along the great river delta. To the north, another great river flows into the Tenne Sea. This river, the Wirdle River, is another highly productive fishing area. Several fish camps have been set up here as well.

    ham0a.jpg
These provisional settlements may one day grow into towns.

The temporary settlements line the river on both sides inland for miles, providing ample opportunity for the fishers to haul in the ingredients for many a can of Fancy Feast. Some of the most select fish go into the new and improved Pounce.

    pPETS-3759623t400.jpg

Pounce: the official treat of the Supreme Wirdle. She actually clawed and bit her way into a pouch of this once. So much for waiting until treat time...

    ham0b.jpg
Shore to shore, fish have nowhere to run... nowhere to hide.

On the mainland, a small fish processing facility was constructed, marking the first permanent building on the Tenne mainland. One day, this could be the center of a sprawling town.

    ham0c.jpg
Could the East Tenne Sea Cat Fish Company Building be the start of something great? We'll see. But, not now.

We are going to look at the town which sprung up on Pellissippi Island, one of the barrier islands just offshore. This town, named by the carpenters who built it as "Hammers", is the first permanent settlement in the North East Tenne District. Let's explore Hammers and see what it has to offer.

The town is served by a ferry port. It features mostly Narrow Style buildings, commonly found in Schulmericho, all the way on the other side of the Tenne Sea. There are also some Lake Style buildings, first seen around Lake George. And, a few new types of buildings have cropped up here. Will this creative burst spread across Schulmania and usher in a new style of architecture? Perhaps. Hammers has high hopes. Their motto "If you haven't been to Hammers, you haven't been to Tenne."

    ham1.jpg
Clinton Street serves the port. Assorted merchants ply their wares along the street, hoping to part unsuspecting shoppers from their schulmonetas. One shop, the House O' Discounts, features "factory irregular" clothing for 50-70% off retail everyday. Anyone need 3 legged pants?

    ham2.jpg
Cozy, modest homes line the eastern and western shores of Pellissippi Island.

    ham3.jpg
Row homes and apartments provide residences to many citizens involved in fisheries.

Several commercial blocks provide goods and services needed by residents. But, not a lot is there for the visitor. Unless, of course, you happen to be interested in fish.

    ham4.jpg
Among the unusual local businesses here, the slender gray building wedged in between two larger brown brick buildings (one opposite the ferry) houses the Shoe Leftorium, where left shoes only are sold.

A novel building erected at the corner of Clinton Street is the green Mallet Building, erected in a style hitherto unseen in Schulmania.

    ham5.jpg
Will this new style take off? Only time will tell.

Much of the town reminds one of the style seen in Schulmericho.

    ham6.jpg
Narrow facades of brick, stone and stucco dominate the streetscape.

    ham7.jpg
The facades closest to the port are a bit wider. Next door to the port is the small fast food joint known as Ace Burger. Here, burgers are served on a bun shaped like the Ace of Spades. Unusual in a fishing town, isn't it?

A somewhat unusual take on the predominant architectural style is the Civic Center, built in a long block with architectural elements which echo the narrow facades of the nearby built environment.

    ham8.jpg

Seems to be the only way to get from settlement to settlement is by boat or by swimming. 3.gif

The other town is looking quite good. Not quite seeing the "unusual take on the predominant architectural style" you were referring too, but it all looks good anyway. 4.gif

    The Schulmania Hillbillies

For the first time in a decade, we are moving. Not far... just a few miles down the road into a bigger place. But, in the mean time, I will need to disassemble the computer stuff and relocate it, get it set up again and get enough stuff unboxed to make life possible again. After all, boxes are not good mattresses! So, I will be offline for a few days, beginning tonight. I anticipate my return within 4-5 days, plus or minus a bit. So, while I may be gone in body, my sprit, much like Garlic Cooking Odor, will linger on in my absence.

In the meantime... I give you the modern interpetation of my moving song.

See y'all on the flip side!
