    East Wirdleonia: The East Village

There is far more to Robinia than its massive South Wirdleonia neighborhoods. That's only seven of Robinia's nine neighborhoods. The other two neighborhoods cross over into the District of East Wirdleonia and are collectively referred to as the "East Village." The neighborhoods' postal designations are Robinia VIII (East Village - area between South Wirdleonia line and the park) and Robinia IX (area east of the park). As we explore the East Village, we will see the structures which make up the town. The park, for the most part, we will see in an upcoming chapter.

We begin our journey through East Village at The Mews, an upscale shopping destination. It features many of the best names in feline apparel and accessories.

    themewsdirectorymapez1.gif
Among the fine establishments gracing The Mews are Ferry's Wooden Shoe Emporium, Sunny Shingure's Cat Boutique, Brad Brian & Beyond (a new home décor store owned by Leech Apothecary) and the new jewelry retailer Suplado's Pearls & More, Inc.

Besides the grand park, the other outstanding feature of East Village is the charming pond. An artificial reflecting pool was created for the enjoyment of citizens, featuring paddleboats and fishing in the fully stocked water. This gathering spot is surrounded by pleasant plazas and fine homes and businesses. The largest facility on the pond is the Hendrix Technology Institute, named after visionary leader John Hendrix, a pioneer in the field of future predicting and scientific breakthroughs.

    hendrix2we2.jpg
HIT was founded as Hendrix College but changed name to reflect its new focus on technology and predicting the future.

    hendrix1qt0.jpg
The college features a great atmosphere for learning and great recreational activities nearby.

Let's take a jaunt on a paddleboat and explore what else surrounds Melton Lake.

    pool1dj0.jpg
Homes and shops line the waterfront, serving Hendrix students as well as the community at large.

    pool2fc4.jpg
Melton Lake is a small artificial lake, but big on excitement. Here is the best place on this side of town to gather and have a leisurely day of fun in the sun.

There's quite a bit more to East Village than The Mews and HIT. Robinia, as largest city in the nation, has snagged the new national headquarters of Schulmania Post, which is located in East Village. To celebrate the new move, the new logo of Schulmania Post has also been revealed.

Administration for the eastern part of town and the plains lying beyond emanates from Regency Hall, a green Southern Style building across the street from Joke Ridge High School, the only public school in Schulmania which combines a classical education with the comedic arts.

    regencyhalloc2.jpg
Regency Hall is at top left. Joke Ridge is at top right. Here's a sample of the work of some of the JRHS students:
. Did you hear about the cat who drank 5 bowls of water? He set a new lap record.
. Did you hear about the cat who swallowed a ball of wool? She had mittens.
. What is the difference between a cat and a comma? One has the paws before the claws and the other has the clause before the pause.
. What do you get when you cross a chick with an alley cat? A peeping tom.
. Why don't cats play poker in the jungle? Too many cheetahs.
. What is a cat's favorite song? Three Blind Mice.
. What did the freshman computer science major say when he was told that the work stations had mice? Don't you have a cat?
. What is a cat's way of keeping law & order? Claw Enforcement.
. How did a cat take first prize at the bird show? He just jumped up to the cage, reached in, and took it.
One of the most significant structures in East Village is an industrial one. It is the first expansion of Busscastle Chocolates in the nation. Due to overwhelming demand, Baby Busscastle cannot keep up the production necessary to meet the needs of hungry customers. The new castle-inspired factory is not just a local landmark; it is also a destination for tourists. After you take the factory tour, you get free samples.

    busscastlechoxxb1.jpg
Busscastle South offers tours hourly from 9-4 on weekdays and 10-5 on Saturdays. Admission is free. And all candies for sale in the gift shop are 50% off retail prices. Enjoy!

I love this. East Village is by far my most favorite of all. It has everything I am interested in. I would love to spend some time with the students at Joke Ridge High. I have to admit that jokes like those make me laugh. Love 'em. The cornier they are, the better I like 'em.

That's a very pretty update.  I especially love the pond, the surrounding gardens are just fantastic.  Makes me wish I had enrolled at Hendrix back during a simpler time...

    NEW! ON THE SCHULMANIA.INFO WEBSITE...

    15-3.gif

    Yes... FIVE!!!

    Five new city profiles....

Click on the WEBSITE link in the sig and go to "City Directory" along the left side and see which cities have been added. Perhaps, it will be one of your favorites! This weekend's update brings the number of city profiles available online to 9. The City Directory has been consistently the highest viewed page on the Schulmania website, so I have added more to it to satisfy viewers. More profiles will be coming in the future as well.

Also, feel free to check out the website as a whole. There's a lot there... including pages in Portuguese, French and Zukish. Also, in the blog, there's a survey for things you might want to see in an upcoming travel/tourism aspect to Schulmania. Do you have a favorite place you would like featured? Or have a travel idea to share? Feel free to comment in the blog or here as well.

    Thanks! And happy SchulmaniSurfing!

Nice update, I like the explanation and map of The Mews. I can only imagine what additional stores are there besides the ones you listed.... Abercrombie and Scratch? The SHARPER image? Cold Stone Catnippery? The Henricks Institute of Technology and Schulmania Post are also great.
