    South Wirdleonia: Robinia Revisited

Once you visit Robinia, you will never forget it. And, you will probably want to come back again and again. As Schulmania's largest city, it has secrets to be discovered with every visit. There is so much to see and do that most guests overstay their hotel reservations. It's a good thing that hotel rates are so cheap - otherwise, the extra days would really add up fast. Let's see what else there is to see and do in Robinia.

One important stop on any tour is the Bureau of Feline Affairs office for Wirdleonia. It is by far the largest BFA structure in the nation. Rumor has it that Princess Katherine is planning t make a move to bring the headquarters here from Temple Terrace.

    bfa4bk8.jpg
The strategically placed building is just across the Pyyus Canal from Regency Green, Schulmania's largest urban park.

    bfa2vx4.jpg
A perfect setting to project power on the national stage. Princess Katherine is certainly ambitious. But, she underestimated the park's draw upon workers. Nearly 80% of workers spend the majority of the day looking out the window or sunning themselves instead of doing their jobs. Perhaps this building is a bit too feline friendly in its design?

A popular tourist destination is the massive St. Pyyus Cathedral, which sits in the center of town. Featured on local coinage, this landmark is the most known and most beloved icon of the city. The Tuna Pounce mosaic floor also helps bring in a good crowd to services.

    cath4ce2.jpg

    cath3fs7.jpg
The wide plazas surrounding the cathedral are a great gathering spot. Vendors sell every flavor of Fancy Feast known to man, and some which are not. Tuna? Got it. Liver? Got it. Zebra? Got it. Emu? Yep, got it. This is the best place to go for exotic Fancy Feast.

    cath5de9.jpg
As delicious as the vendors' food is, you must finish it before you enter for your tour.

Another must-see for visitors is the South Wirdleonia District Capitol. This special landmark is featured on many postcards. If Schulmania had cameras, everyone would be taking pictures of it.

    district1oe6.jpg

    district2to1.jpg
This building also backs up to the Pyyus Canal and Regency Green. Needless to say, many bureau-cats are busy sunning and looking out the window. Perhaps this explains why you have not gotten your license in the mail yet...

Princess Katherine's palace is right next door, so she has a very short commute.

    distcaptpalacemb2.jpg
Now that is the shortest commute I have ever seen!

    distcaptpalace2ai4.jpg
Despite the close proximity of these landmarks, a good tour will take quite a while. If you come at the right time, Princess Katherine has tours of her palace. And, you can climb up the steep spiral staircases to the top of the cathedral bell towers any day until dusk. One of those climbs and you will be in the hot tub for a while!

At least one afternoon is recommended for leisurely enjoying the ambience in the piazza.

    piazza5wr7.jpg

    piazza6xh2.jpg
The statues are great pigeon perches. The unsuspecting pigeons become fresh meals for happy cat tourists. This is an idea some other cities should try out to thin their pigeon populations.

The dome of the Regal Capitol is a distinctive addition to the city's skyline. The Regency of Wirdleonia's territory spans three districts. Princess Katherine has to commute a bit further to get to her office here.

    regcap3yy8.jpg

The capitol is close to many important sites.

    regcapbfa2ku4.jpg
It sits across from the Bureau of Feline Affairs and the college.

    regcapitolarcaderq1.jpg
It also sits next to Wirdleonia Arcade, the largest shopping mall in the realm.

Any fabulous day sightseeing must end at Regal Theaters. Here, fabulous liver performances entice those looking for comedy, drama, action, adventure, music and more.

    robinia6theaterpk5.jpg
Admission is as follows: plays - 15 purrs, stand up comedy - 10 purrs, symphony - 20 purrs, dance - 15 purrs, bird feeder watching - 5 purrs. After an evening at the theater, you will stroll back to your hotel room pondering the eternal query: "to purr or not to purr... that is the question."

    robinia6theaterdistuy2.jpg
The theater district offers many a diversion for before or after a show. The nearby Admiral's Galley Restaurant offers a 25% discount if you present your theater ticket.

With this much excitement, is it any wonder that Robinia is the hottest destination in Schulmania?

Bruce- Once again, Schulmania has ruled another year over here. You remain a machine, and your imagination continues to know no bounds. I'm always amazed when I stop by, and can't wait to see what 2009 brings.

    Happy New Year, my friend!

Nice, Rubina sure is a cosmopolitan city with everything. The bureau of feline affairs building sure is grand and I liked the theatre district. As for the statues where pigeons perch, have they figured out they're dead meat yet and try to one-up the cats, say by, uh, leaving marks on the statues to prevent unsuspecting cats from eating them? lol

Great update, and happy New Year!

Well, it all indeed looks great! The style is really developing here.

But as far as the building being too "feline friendly," I mean, seriously, is there anything that could possibly been done to the building or the parks around it to encourage a cat to work? I'm surprised anything gets done in Schulmania. 3.gif

That reminds of when I was studying in Japan. The classroom window overlooked Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, as well as the school grounds which contained a very classy Japanese garden. I can totally understand the workers' feelings, and I'd probably be staring out the window the whole of 9-5 everyday myself!

PhatHead Thanks! Glad to be back!

blue sinjid Yes! Finally! I survived the move and the ISP!

Benedict Thanks! More is certainly on the way.

panthersimcity4 Thanks! I am very happy to be back from cyber oblivion.

Leech10 I will have to keep her on retainer for future reference.

    Hester Perhaps on a holo-ohone...

Leech10 Then the hold music wears down your resistance...

    NMUSpidey Aaaaaaaaaaargh! More off-key caterwauling!

    Hester Still braced?

Jacqulina Thanks! It is good to rejoin the living again.

Petrovar Ambassador Thanks! I am glad to be back as well and hope you like the update.

Leech10 Have we decided yet: to purr or not to purr? I, myself, am leaning toward purring.

suplado! Thanks! If I could to the lot editor, I could do an even better job blending things in. For some reason, LE does not like me. I am glad you like the update. More is coming soon.

Hester Thank yew. Thank yew verra much. Thus spake Elvis.

Dedgren Thanks, David. I hope you like what is coming up in Schulmania as well.

Dfnva The pigeons seem to offer little resistance. Some of them do leave some... graffiti... on statues and such, but it does not deter the snack attack.

PhilsCafe Cheap? It's all about volume. Sort of the Wal-Mart of the hospitality industry.

art128 Thank you and welcome back for 2009.

Pipishere Thanks and I hope 2009 will be great for you as well.

Zelgadis Well, I suppose cats are so efficient that they have lots of lounging time in their work schedules. That's what the cats say, anyway. Glad you liked the latest update.

NMUSpidey Would you see a bird outside the window and pounce, only to discover an invisible pane of glass kept you from your prey? I have seen someone furry and mighty do that before.

blue sinjid Thanks! I reserved Robinia for more of a Spanish/Mediterranean style. I am glad you liked the result.

Twenty20 You are welcome to visit anytime. I am sure Princess Katherine would love to host you in her palace.

Tomasneto Obrigado! And I am glad you enjoyed the update.

anarchy0029 Thanks, Governor. We need to get together about your new city soon as well.

Hester Standing and braced? That's got to be uncomfortable.

Petrovar Ambassador Thanks! More excitement is on the way!

I humbly apologise for my lack of replies over the holiday period...  I was on one occassion at least distracted from my CJ reading / replying duties by a long (3 hour) internet telephone converstation with a very good friend whom I have never met in my life...

Goodness knows what we talked about...  but my ability to multi task is directly proportionate to the distrubution levels of my x and y chromosomes.

Just make sure there aren't any chromosome collisions during their distribution, who knows that effect that would cause.

Here's the latest SchulmaniStats... from Dec 08.

This includes the website stats and the Volume 1 - Volume 2 comparison graphs. I have expanded my top PDF file list to 20 because of increased activity and eliminated the multimedia list since there was so little activity in that area. I am impressed with the consistency in top websites from month to month. I have seen that the city directory page has been a #1 for some time. So, I am working on extra city profiles to add. I have 3 done and will get 2 more and release all 5 at the same time. If you have not been to the schulmania.info website, why not drop in and see what's there? Over 2500 PDF files have been read so far (well, ~100 files read 2500 times) so there's plenty there for you to see. And, thanks to Twenty20, several of the PDFs are in French!

There's also a blog on the website (direct link in sig) which currently has a question for you regarding a potential travel and tourism aspect for Schulmania. You are welcome to put in your 2 purrs worth on that subject. BTW, you can subscribe to the blog thru RSS and keep up with the latest in Schulmania. It's easy - it's free. So, DO IT NOW! 3.gif

    Anywho, on to the stats:

Thanks! More excitement on the way soon. And remember, only 10 days until Schulman Day!
