I have made some serious progress! It's almost as if this thread was my CJ, but I'm not going to start an actual CJ because I can never keep them going.

The-city-without-a-name is growing! Mostly west bound with a science park and -what!?- an intersection? Well I'll be a son of a gun...

Oh yeah, It's New Year's eve.

yes, looks great Borg. The night shot looks great - you should light up that highway running through it too.

Thank you for the tip! Hope you like it. :thumb:

It's been a while since ive played this game. Some of you might remember me, having posted abit in here before. Here is something i made tonight. Allthough i should have raised the big black box of uglyness which spawned.
This is San Sofia, a city with no public transportation except busses (since i forgot to add any, doh).

Anyways; while i post here i hope i can make a small request, if not then just ignore it;
I am looking for some warehouses to plop/grow in the outskirts of my CBDs / make actual warehouse districts like most major US cities have (o:

Cool thanks - i didn't specify enough - i am mostly looking for some gritty warehouses as found in the warehouse district on the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles.

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

firstly, nice username. second, i think there needs to be a more uh, stark demarcation between your downtown and the rest of the city. that would make it look quite nice.

A lot of nice downtowns in this thread.  Nothing said they had to be BIG downtowns, so here are a few of mine.  Mostly small towns.

6705834075_800fe257a8_b.jpg

Downtown Weldman, a small-medium mountain town that is the center of activity in a mostly rural county.

5799259790_a2def3e91d_z.jpg

Downtown Chaneville, the county seat of Chane County with a bustling population of just over 11,000 people.

5759492961_908771ee47_z.jpg

The small downtown of Surprise Valley, a small rural town in the heart of the Surprise Valley, surrounded on all sides by steep misty mountain peaks!  Just under 9,000 people live here.

Thanks for taking the time to look everyone who did.  You can find more of my work in my country journal.

Small city. Nice shape, quite reminiscent of the real deals that I've seen. I like it.

@APSMS: So you're the one behind all that damage. I'll leave you the bill. I just used any military jet I could quickly find on Sketchup, plus the A-10's quite famous anyway.

I like this a lot. Now, pretend that the local industrial concern packed up and left for China. What are the effects on the town? I'd love to see that.

It seems very nice. Although I'll have to say, there is a good chance for an aeroplane to hit the highway or that building so close to it. :D

True, I like the design but let me give you a scenario.

One day, the government decided to relocate the airport for the downtown expansion. Many buyers of the land was interested. Suddenly, the place grew to a bigger commercial area!  :thumb:

Well, I have nothing against the airport but if you don't mind, it would look so much better if is goes manhattanization. Booyah. :D

That's why only the top notch pilots are allowed to fly into this city.. lol.

But on a realistic note, if you've ever seen the documentary "Extreme Airports" on the History channel, my airport wouldn't even make the list compared to those airports. You should check it out sometime, it's absolutely crazy to think airports exist like that and pilots that actually traverse them.

However, I did try and make the "take-off" and "landing" areas just outside the perimeter of the airport as flat as can be. Because of the rail that goes into the

I-HT area, I wasn't able to bring the highway back down to ground level. And figured the town hall building isn't exactly in the line, though I do see the potential risk.

As much as I would love a huge city, unfortunately I'm only working on a 2x2lg city region (actually 16 medium to be exact), which drastically reduces the amount of Sims I'll be able to pack in to create such a thing. And since a few other city tiles have their own small downtowns consisting of mid rise COs, it's not easy to build a large central city yet. However, I have been reducing the amount of COs around the region in hopes to start to centralize it on the city posted here to make it larger in time. I'd like to start pushing the mid-high rise buildings north of the highway to keep it from crowding the airport to much.

As far as the airport being relocated, I do have a smaller private airport in another city that could essentially be upgraded to the regions main airport to open up more space for the downtown, but as I stated above, that might never come to pass.

I've posted a regional shot in the Show Me Your Region thread so you can see just what I'm working with as far as space goes.

Thanks for the words guys, I always love constructive criticism.
