New roadavenue underpass  1.0

About This File

Thanks to Marrast - I have been able to create two new underpasses for roads and avenues. These are simply modified lots, completely dependant on his original underpasses (you need them installed for this to work).

There are 2 lots. One is a road that goes underneath two parallel railroad lines. The other is an avenue that does the same.

These are very useful to avoid traffic congestion in denser cities, but they look good out in the rural areas, too.

Note that U-drive and emergency vehicles will NOT be able to use these lots - they will get stuck.

Stats:

Avenue-rail dual underpass:

plop - $8500

bulldoze - $150

Road-dual underpass

plop - $3000

bulldoze - $150

I wanted the prices to more reflect real-world costs. So these are going to cost you!

comments appreciated. I would also like to thank Marrast for all his lots, I particularly like the underpasses and his new rail stations - if you haven't seen them, I encourage you to try them out!

NO. This bug is impossible to fix. We cannot create a lot in which there is an interesection. Either the rail u-drive works, or the road. You can look at the original thread on why this is.

Just to be clear, normal road and rail traffic will work PERFECTLY with this lot. Just the U-drive and emergency vehicles get stuck.

Nice.. How about making the next one so that the rail goes over the road/avenue diagonally?? (is that even possible?) You and Marrast have done a great job!

Some more I'd like to see: -Rail over ground highway -Steel bridges (colored green, brown, etc.) -Angled bridges (diagonal rail over road or avenue)

gd gd! Makes it look more realistic! Glad u did it that way, coz it'd b unrealistic 2 have the road at ground and the rail going under/over

Just got one word for what you and marrast are doing: fantastic! Keep more coming please (although you should lower the prices to keep them in balance with what you pay for other structures). TEN points!

So let me get this straight...normal vehicles can drive through the underpasses? Will we be able to see the cars as well? Oh yea, by the way, great job!

Yes, normal vehicles can. If you try to go through on a U-drive it mission, the mission will fail - it's like you hit a brick wall. If you dispatch a police or firefighter, it too will get stuck.

However, all of your sim commuters - trains and cars and freight truck/rail - will use this just like a normal interesection.

Great, finally! This was what I've been needing for so long. Plus thanks for the double railway track. Hope it's all perfect now except for the U Drive-it thing. I'll rate when tested, but it looks promising.

It looks great in the game, but I'm afraid I discovered a bug in the lot. I tried to U-Drive a police car through, just to see what would happen (it disappeared),

but after that, the road texture went mad when the lot was placed on a bottom-top of screen axis...Horiztontally across the screen it looked fine..
