About This File

The Eastern Columbia Building is a thirteen-story building located at 849 S. Broadway in the Broadway Theater District of downtown Los Angeles and is considered by many to be the most beautiful of Los Angeles's historic buildings, as well as its finest surviving example of Art Deco architecture following the 1969 destruction of Richfield Tower. It is easily spotted from Interstate 10 due to its bright turquoise color.

This is a fantastic building overall. Some parts could use a bit more detail but the building's coloring is still a very refreshing break from all of the grey, white, and brown that typically springs up everywhere.

I think your Great American Tower was the better building overall. The textures used here are a little too SC3K to fit in properly. That said, it's better than anything I've ever managed to get out of the BAT.

I think a new texture for the building that has more variance in colour would help. The real building's façade has some really intense turquoise tiles and some really pale ones too.

Still, good work man.

Nice to see SC4 is still attractive enough that people keep making buildings. Not you first upload, BAT thread would be in order here.

The main issue this building doesn't look as good as it could might be the facade material. The building was built in the 1930s I guess and looking at RL pictures it's clearly visible it has an Art-Deco design. Therefore, your building looks too modern, possibly built in the late 1960s-1970s.

I'd strongly advise you to open your BAT thread, tell people which programme you use and show your settings, especially concerning the textures. Take the time you need, if the building will look better people will appreciate that and be patient.

However, although too simple for a recreation, I'm going for 4 stars as it perfectly fits the old-school Maxis building style.

This might be your best building yet, looking good. Will download to see how it may fit into my cities. I love the coloring and design of the building, it may need a little more details on the backside but over its great. 4/5

Another great Art Deco addition to the STEX.  The overall modeling looks great - my only criticism lies in the window textures and the 'white' textures could be toned down a bit to fit in more closely with maxis hues.  Still, it is great to see new buildings to populate our sim cities.  Thanks for sharing!
