Elevated Railway (Offline Only - replaces maglev)  1.0

About This File

I've been working on this one for weeks, but it's finally here; the elevated railway based on MaxisGuillaume's 'Maglev as Subway' mod (https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29428-maglev-as-subway/). This mod uses the maglev network to create a Chicago/New York style "EL-Train" with tracks and stations that can be placed above roads.

Can I still use the maglev?

Yes, this mod exists as a completely new network - however, due to how the game is implemented, the EL-train vehicles replace the default maglev ones. So, you can still build the vanilla maglev tracks and stations, but the vehicles that will travel on them are EL-Trains.

Can I use this in combination with MaxisGuillaume's Subway?

Yes - while this mod is inspired by his, it exists as a completely separate entity, although just like with the maglev, the new EL-Train vehicles will travel on the paths - of course, in case of the subway this might actually be preferable if you want a more realistic subway. For the time being you can't connect the two networks together yet, but I'm planning on making this possible.

(Many thanks to MaxisGuillaume for helping me to get this to work)

So... oppie seems to be pretty inactive. Poor, but I think, that I'll have to live with that. I really wished, he could fix those annoying bugs.

Great mod. Love it!. It brings such character to my cities. Im guessing this isn't possible because the maglev uses the same models on both normal and avenue roads. But, if it is possible, can you make it so the supports reach the side of the Avenues?

It looks great, but I cannot get the track sections to connect to each other or to the station.  The blue circle lock-points never appear at the ends.  Anybody else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

Umm...yeah...Great mod, I live in Chicago, use the El train daily. Only a couple problems...

1. It can only be placed on avenues, no regular streets

2.Tracks over streets disappear when there is a streetcar stop below them

3.There is a strange maglev train floating above every station

Otherwise perfect!

@indian007 are you using it in single player mode (offline mode)?   It does not work in Multi-player mode(online mode).

@St0o81  It works on both streets and avenues,

Stations only work on avenues. The tracks however can be drawn over streets.

Edit: Actually placing stations on streets works, but it's a bit glitchy. If you don't get the attachment points over streets, try drawing a small unconnected street nearby, then hover the elevated rail station over this piece until the attachment points appear, then move it swiftly over the street where you wanted to place it. The attachment points should appear.

Is there a conflict with this file and something else. I've been trying to get this mod to work since it came out, and to date I have no success in doing so. Can someone please help me to get it working.

Great mod! Unfortunately it is not compatible alongside the UDON and Bi-Level UDON.

Can someone please take a look at the mods that I am using to let me know if something is conflicting with this and the regular Maglev.  I can place the stations just fine but cannot connect any tracks to them.  The lock points won't appear on either the El or the Maglev.  I still need to go in and try the subway but right now I'm working in a lower altitude region but I'll do that sometime today.

I've tried removing mods, re-downloading mods.  Going through and reading to see if I need to remove certain mods that are knowingly conflicting with these and for the life of me, I just can't figure it out.  My Maglev was working before but I can't remember what mods I installed prior to the point where it stopped working properly.

I do know that some of my mods such as roads, vehicles, and others such as those do conflict with each other but I've been using a mod switch that keeps them off and have had no issues at all with those.  (Just wanted you to know that I do know certain mods are conflicting but those are mostly just smaller mods and nothing - at least that I know of - that are actual 'changes in play' mods).  But if you see any that you think I could be missing that could be causing this issue, please let me know.

OR.... IF THERE ARE ANY MODS THAT I AM MISSING THAT I 'SHOULD' BE USING, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD LET ME KNOW THAT AS WELL.

If someone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate the help!  Thank you so much in advance!56c6266b2f089_CurrentMods1of2.JPG.73a00256c6266c3a16e_CurrentMods2of2.JPG.a0f1b9

Roads with no Traffic Lights will make this mod unplayable - cannot attach and abolish elevated railway.
