About This File

Greetings and salutations from the ghost of enceedee! Greetings to kitty black and Andromeda!! waves and greets y'all

The enclosed file contains all of the major project Lots I was working on a few years ago. This includes the Whyalla Steel Mill Lots, Open Pit Mine Lots and several others mentioned in my Railyards and Steel Mills thread.

WARNING: For experienced users only! All of these Lots were "Works In Progress". There is no readme.txt. Some may have very large dependency lists and should not be downloaded by those who dislike them, or by people who don't know how to use applications like: the Lot Editor, iLive's DATreader, or the SC4Tool in order to scan for the dependencies used by these custom lots. I couldn't even begin to list all the ones used, except, they were all available in 2008/2009 and they all use my rail textures.

You have been warned. Any complaints about dependencies or complexity posted here will only show that you didn't read the warning and have no idea what you are doing.

That being said, feel free to complete, modify, re-lot, and re-release these creations as you see fit, with one exception: You must mention where you got them, that's all.

The Whyalla Lots were created with the old version of my Rail textures and may need to be re-lotted with the newer textures. This will be a time consuming task. That's why I'm releasing them "as is" now, I don't have the time or energy to do it.

The Open Pit Mine is basically an Iron ore mine and comprises about 5-6 large lots that fit together to form one large mining operation. Two of these have to have the terrain sculpted before plopping for them to look right. Please see my thread "Of Railyards and Steel Mills" for more information.

[edit] I should also mention that included in this package is some re-lotted work of Peg's Sawmill and Timber Lots and the Slatyfork Sawmill Lot. The models for these Lots are available seperately on the STEX and SimPeg sites. The re-lots in this package use the most recent rail textures made by me. They are meant to examples of where the new textures can be used.

Many of these Lots would have been better served as "Rewards" but I don't know how to make "modular" lots into Rewards.

So, if you are an experienced modder and need some fresh ideas, check these out.

what's with BATs starting out really low then climbing up in rating lately?
Is there some troll with 2 or 3 accounts lowering every BAT?

I don't think that is the case. I believe it has to do with a ratio of reviews over ratings and downloads, or some such algorithm. Either way, 4/5 stars is darn good for a package of incomplete stuff, don't ya think?

Hi NCD,
really nice, big industrial lots with spurlines! This steel mill looks very realistic, and i like the way of creating it from an original plan to the SC4 lot. I don´t have the place for a steel cooker, my region is too small but i have to download this lots and look to them in the LE. I´m building every industrial lot and every station with Your rail textures, i prefer the pack 102 for stations and the other for spurlines, and i´m happy to see You back. If You want: look into my Waldey RP on SC4D, it would not exist without Your work. Thanks a lot!

Anyway, great to have you back!

um, there will be no completed form, at least not from me. I have "cleared my desk" with this final contribution in the hopes that others will have use for it, or gain inspiration from it.

-a program that opens a LOT file will list the dependencies used, DatGen included.

-if you have no intention of downloading it, why comment?

-don't let the Whyalla stuff put you off by it's size, there's other much smaller projects included in this package,...read the description.

go away,...you didn't read the description I no longer have SC4 anything on my hard drive. read this excerpt from the description:
