About This File

I always thought variety was lacking in the games water utilities, so I thought I should make some additional water tower lots for the game! This pack contains 4 ploppable water tower lots that are all unique in their own way. All of them (except the locomotive tank) have a transparent base texture in an attempt to give them a more realistic appearance. The pack includes a very unique water tower that can be placed next to a railway line. They all fit nicely into the water utility menu and have different capacities depending on the requirements of your city.

I hope you find these water towers useful!

Open Water Tower

Lot size:
1x1
Water Produced:
4,200 cu m/Month
Monthly Cost:
§75
Plop Cost:
§250

Power Consumed:

The open water tower is the largest tower in the pack that can hold 4,200 cu m/Month. It has a larger capacity than the default water tower. Don’t be concerned about the open top; sensors are positioned in the basins that automatically release water depending on the level. It would suit a farm/rural area.

Medium Water Tower

Lot size:
1x1
Water Produced:
3,200 cu m/Month
Monthly Cost:
§60
Plop Cost:
§200
Pollution:

Power Consumed:

The medium water tower can hold 1000 cu m/Month more than the default water tower at another §10 per month. Its steel structure makes this a more modern alternative. It would suit a suburban location.

Small Open Water Tower

Lot size:
1x1
Water Produced:
2,000 cu m/Month
Monthly Cost:
§35
Plop Cost:
§200

The small open water tower is a smaller version of the open tower. It is fairly cheap to maintain and is commonly used by farming industries to provide water.

Last but not least is the locomotive water tower. These are used to fill the tanks of steam trains. The tower is situated in a small compound area (with platform) where maintenance staff can run repairs on this rusty old tank. The shed at the back also has a small light on it at night.
I have not made these models; Full and deserved credit goes to Deadwoods, Simgoober and Jestarr for making them!

Dependencies:

There are 3 dependencies. You will need these files or a brown box will appear instead of the water tower. For the files marked (LEX), you will need to register at the SC4 Devotion Lot Exchange (LEX).

BSC Mega Props DAE Vol01 – deadwoods > Model for Locomotive Water Tower.

BSC MEGA Props SG Vol 01 – simgoober > Model for Open Water Tower & Small Open Water Tower.

BSC Mega Props - JES Vol06 – jestarr (LEX) > Model for Medium Water Tower.

All dependencies are to be placed in your My Documents, SimCity 4, Plugins folder.

Installation:

To install, extract the folder named “Water Towers” (containing the 4 LOT files) to your SimCity 4 Plugins folder. This is required for the lot to appear in game.
(Located in My Documents, SimCity 4, Plugins)

Note: Readme is not required.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, but it doesn't matter who gets first comment/rating. It isn't a competition!

In fact, "First!" comments not only don't matter, but they are also clearly und unmistakeably discouraged in the STEX commenting rules, which probably not everyone has read. ;o) *hint* *hint* Back to topic, @hittwice: it's good to see that you drilled down the dependencies so clearly, especially for people who might only want to use a few, but not all of these lots. Another good job!

@adamknowsstuff: It sounds like you haven't installed the dependencies. There is a list of three prop packs that you'll need to install at the bottom of the description. Good stuff! These will fit well in rural communities.

Good work again, well done. While im commenting, i cant get the industrial Lots i was gonna make ploppable to show up in game properly in the landmark menu. They appear, but have no props and only base textures. Im gonna keep fiddling, but dont expect too much too soon....
