About This File

This is a prop for use in industrial settings. This will be a dependency in many of my future I-HT BATs.

There are five groups of containers and a single container, making for a total of six props. They are nightlighted.

They look good, although I would find them even better with some light rust on the outside ;) Now all I need is someone to build a nice industrial complex to go with this ;)

They still look like they were drawn, and would look alot better if you took the time to texture them in gmax. Still nice though

Xylo is right - they have a strange "cartoon"-ey quality that breaks with the style of a lot of Maxis and custom stuff. Were these made and textured in gmax?

These aren't sketchup models just becuase they look drawn... These are much better than the last one! Still, the textures still need a bit of improvement.

I don't mean to be mean, but these don't really have much texture, besides that they're great. I do think you should update these so they have more texture, that would make them perfect.

I like them! The remind me of the modern "indestructible" containers that are used to ship highly radioactive elements and waste world wide. They may be a little cartoon like, but I absolutely love how the way the shape is very modern.

With these kind of textures, I'm afraid these props /will/ stand out. Getting better certainly, but textures need work imo, I agree that they look a bit "cartoonish". 3/5

@busrocker: That's what inspired them. And these would indeed need to be indestructible; I plan on having several sent into space.

chaos is what this props are lacking of, the world tends to chaos when things are perfectly organized and clean they don't look natural

I had two groups of messy containers in the last version, but these containers, being rectilinear, would keep their organization unless something hit them.

It's for I-HT, actually. When you see my upcoming (sometime in the next two weeks, if all goes according to plan) BATs, it will all make sense.

The black texture is the killer - it's what makes them look "comicbook". No metal drum would have black gloss paint on the rims and have no damage to it. Try altering them slightly so that some are different textures. Also, stacking round drums on their curved edge so many high is very unrealistic without some sort of rack or brace... they'd roll off onto Sims with the slightest jolt.

The black texture? That can be redone. The drums aren't round, they're square, with a bit of a cut on the corners. Think of an octagon whose diagonal sides are very short.

Ok but even shipping containers only stack so high and they have special things in the corner designed to hold them together. I'm just saying I think the tall stack and the pyramid stack either need to be shorter or have some sort of bracket or brace or rack or tie-down neeting or something to make them look more stable...? I'm looking forward to seeing these on an actual lot, I think you've got potential.
