About This File

Updated July 28, 2007! All my old files are being updated and re-released to fix a host of minor issues and mistakes I made when I was still learning. The lot and desc files are the same the original meaning that the new version will replace the old one in your cities without any brown boxes as long as you delete the previous version. A BSC Cleanitol file will be available on SC4Devotion's BSC exchange as soon as I have all the updated files released, which will make the job of deleting the old versions easy.

Introducing Kensington Plaza. This BAT brings streetside commercial services to your sims. The building has a collection of store front retail that includes: Merle's Delicatessen, Charlie's Bakery, Janice Beaton's Fine Cheeses, Kensington Wine Market (the anchor store), Honey Bee's Antiques and Crafts, Si Senor Pizza and Lather Hair Salon. Above the stores and accessible from the back is office space.

This BAT is based on a real building in Calgary's Kensington neighbourhood and is my first BAT in what will eventually be a whole series of buildings from that neighbourhood. This BAT includes two growable corner lots (3X4 and 4X3) and a plopable. All are stage 4 commercial with 170 CS$$ jobs. Growables appear on the Houston and Euro tile set. One wall of each lot fits in a w2w setting. See the readme for more detailed stats.
Two dependency BSC Spa Essentials and BSC MEGA Props - MJB Vol01.dat. See the readme for more detailed stat information and installation instructions.

Check out my bat thread here or on SC4devotion for detailed information about the updates or my future projects.

nice :) (the nightlights could have light reflected on the sidewalk, some transparency into the glasses too)

Maybe it's just me. I dont feel that the building matches the name. I guess im too much of a high rise guy. But I like the it for its setting and its function. I feel more could be done with the windows in detail. I give it a 9.

Nice! Realistic looking building...similar to what we have around here in the DC Metro area. I agree with Tag one, C$$s always are a welcome addition. 10/10

Thanks everyone. Few comments. Ultra: The glass actually is fairly transparent. The photo is shrunk if you look closely in game you can see the speculed generic office tiles through the windows. I take your point and others though they could have been nicer.

As for lighting, it's not possible to get lights in gmax to shine on objects and textures added in the lot editor. To make light on the sidewalk I would have had to model the whole sidewalk. This wouldn't have matched the Maxis sidewalks that appear along roads. I put more value in having the streetscape match flawlessly. Thanks for your comment though.

Chancellor: Thanks for popping by. Indeed, in hindsight, Kensington Market probably would have been a better name.

Hrmm...I think there was a voting bug, wouldn't let me vote until after I placed a comment.
