About This File

Updated July 28, 2007! All my old files are being updated and re-released to fix a host of minor issues and mistakes I made when I was still learning. The lot and desc files are the same the original meaning that the new version will replace the old one in your cities without any brown boxes as long as you delete the previous version. A BSC Cleanitol file will be available on SC4Devotion's BSC exchange as soon as I have all the updated files released, which will make the job of deleting the old versions easy.

More commonly known as Scotiabank, the Bank of Nova Scotia began in 1832 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is the third largest bank in Canada and is the most international of the country'sfive major banks. Scotiabank has extensive operations abroad, especially in Mexico and the Caribbean. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage since when Argentina defaulted on its loans and sent the country's economy tumbling in 2001, Scotiabank lost some major change. Losses in Argentina has not deterred the bank's international expansion and it is now ready to set up a branch in your city.

This BAT is part of my five BAT set of Canadian bank branches that is designed to help relieve some of the monotony of small Maxis commercial service buildings. It is based on a real Scotiabank branch on Spring Garden Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Despite the look of it, as far as I know the building was never a church. Included in this upload is a growable and a ploppable version with identical stats. Both come on a 2X2 lot and provide 100 Cs$$. The growable version does appears at stage 3 on theChicago and New York tile sets. One dependency, SPA essentials available here. See the readme for more detailed stat information and installation instructions.

Check out my bat thread here or on SC4devotion for detailed information about the updates or my future projects.

I know this branch well, It's on the corner of Spring Garden Road and Robie Street in Halifax. A very distinctive building. By the way, the STEX needs a medical school, why don't you do the Sir Charles Tupper Building at Dalhousie University.

Thanks everyone. I hope my BAT does find a good spot in your cities. simdad1957: It definitely is a distinctive building isn't it. I could possible do the Tupper Building but it won't be anytime soon. I'm living in Calgary right now so my Halifax BATs are coming from digital photos that I took when I was home at Christmas. I'm moving back in Sept so maybe in the Fall I'll take up the challenge.

Whoa! I know this building, I pass it all the time. Great work! A Tupper building model would be pretty cool (then again, so would a Purdy's Wharf..:) )
