About This File

In older versions of SimCity the powerlines didn't look like high-voltage power lines. In SimCity 4, you'll have to use a separate power supply for every rural development when you don't want to disfigure your landscape with huge ugly masts. The SFBT rural power lines will make this obsolete. You can use them along a road or straight across the country. Since the base texture of this lots is transparent, they will match with any terrain texture you have installed.

Important note: The power lines can only be used on perfectly flat terrain, otherwise the props won't align anymore.

The lots can be found in the lower part of the utilities - power menu. The set contains the following lots:

  • straight power line - 1 tile long
  • straight power line - 2 tiles long
  • straight power line - 4 tiles long
  • corner
  • T junction
  • end piece with terminal box
  • powerline piece to cross streets, roads, oneway roads and railway lines

Thisdownload comes with an EXE installer; Mac users can use FileJuicer to extract the files.

i looked into it and tried it you could get these on a network in the lot editor just setup a lot texture it with the texture of the nework you want and then transit enable it with the proper network other then that i don't know if it will work

@BIWDC: Yes, you could do that, but unfortunately, you cannot build one transit enabled lot next to another. In addition, these lots affect commute times, so it's not really an option for long stretches of power lines.

You could probably make a 1x1 TE lot with overhanging props, then you'd only need one TE lot maybe every 3 or 4 tiles, and the rest could be normal roads (or whatever). Your limit would be however far apart lots can be and still transmit power (I forget the number).

I need these to make my power-grid look more realistic. I wish there were also wooden high-voltage wires. I like lots of wires, in certain places. You get a ten. It would be nice if they could go up or downhill.

I'm still baffled as to why these were not in the game from the beginning. Excellent work!

yea this is way better than the standard huge ones, it actually looks kinda dum to place huge commercial sized poles to just one house like how it does with mine
