About This File

This is the headquarters of the  world-renowned Washington Atlantic Company, which produces processed wood and paper products, such as plywood, fiberboard, newspaper, and slick paper.

The building is shaped like a skewed parallelogram, creating two triangular plazas on either end of the building.  These plazas often host small exhibitions or other events, sponsored by the Washington Atlantic Company, which of course help to show off their products.

NB - These are classed as Take-It-Or-Leave-It (TIOLI) BAT buildings.  In other words, they are old buildings that do not reflect the current caliber of the designer's work, and have not been updated.

NB #2 - The brick plaza you see in the night shot is not part of the lot, but rather a group of Ped Malls that were plopped there.

Excellent job. Sort of reminds me of a whitish version of a diagonal view of the Bank of America building in San Francisco.

Just a question, but why is it called the Washington Atlantic BANK if it deals with wood products? Do they have secret financial dealings that you aren't telling us about or something?
