SimCity 2000 Sprites Recreated in Isometric Vector Art
JardsonJean posted a topic in SimCity 2000 Resource Club's Topics
I spent a couple of weeks in the end of 2025 recreating some of the original SC2K sprites in isometric vector art style and just want to bring it here for showcase and feedback. Hope you guys like it. -
Hi all I was advises to join this forum after displaying some of my SCURK tilesets on Reddit - Im trying to achieve an authentic as possible New York City from 1940. I'll post some examples shortly I just wanted to jump on and say hi. Also happy to answer any questions about my project! I do have a couple of questions though - has anybody found a way to edit things like roads and powerline tiles? Stuff that isnt available to change on SCURK? Also the dream would be a choice of different tiles if I was to say place a Hospital - could i have a choice of 2 graphic tiles instead of one? Im fast running out of tilesets for this project and having to get super creative with things. I imagine this kind of request would take some super deep modding and would probably be virtually impossible, but i know there are some geniuses out there so asked anyway! Im playing SC2000 win95 edition on with the SimcityX mod that i found on here. Thanks all!

I recently got my hands on a disc copy of Special Edition, and was wondering if it was pre-patched (with the official updates, 1.1 and 1.2)?

The other day (well actually longer than that, I think it was actually several weeks to several months ago), I was faffing about and found a site called "abondonware.com" (or something like that), and one of the programs on it was an online version of SimCity 2000. For nostalgia's sake, I played it for a little while. Although I found it kinda interesting, I got the nostalgia out of my system in about 10 or 20 minutes. Although SC2000 is sort of fun, SC4K is a better game in just about every measurable sense. It has better graphics, it can be expanded with mods from STEX, SC4devotion, and probably lots of other places, the maps are more "customizable" (I think), etc. I also found another on-line game that was like SimCity, but I don't remember where. Except for my 10-20 minute nostalgia fix, I haven't played SC2000 in years, and don't think I ever played the original, so I can't say which one it is more like. I also think you can play, or at least used to be able to play the original game on EA's (or Maxis, or whoever owns them now) site. I also used to have a disc for SC3000, and I probably still do, somewhere, but I just can't find it. I looked on amazon and ebay, and could not find any copies of it for a price that I am willing to pay, so unless I either find it online like SC2000, or find the disc I already own, that is a game I just will not be playing in the near future. As for the next game in the series, SC5, SC2013, or whatever it is called, I have not played it, so I cannot say from personal experience, but I have heard that it is actually a "worse" game than SC4K. Hey everyone. I love the content you all put on here but I was curious to see if anyone likes re-creating older content from SimCity 2000 and others. I've been working on some cities myself and I hope you like them. Attached I have the project of Flint, MI from the SimCity 2000 scenario. Let me know what you all think.

sc2000 So cities can run themselves... Into the ground.

Hope you all are up for some nostalgia... I had installed Sim City 2000 awhile ago, since as long as I've lived, I've never properly played it. I've played Sim Copter, Streets of Sim City, and even found my way around SCURK. But I've never play, until just recently. At any rate, I wanted to play the Flint scenario, since it's somewhat close. The first time I played, I was in about 7 years; industry, commercial, and residential was picking up and I was adding some dough to the treasury. I guess I thought I had lost though, so I read up on a strategy guide Setting Industrial tax to 0% and won in about three years. I left the game on the budget window, thinking it would stay like that. Boy, was I wrong. Essentially, 82% of the city was somehow reduced to rubble. I'm guessing a gang war broke out so the other side did ok? It seems like I still managed to generate a nice chunk of cash, so I guess I'll keep playing... On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know if the water distribution simulation is bugged? I can have a surplus of water capacity, yet some parts of the city connected to the water main don't get water. -
