  1. Looking if there is easier way to edit multiple exemplars at once rather than each individually using SC4PIM or Reader. I use Residential Halver, Commerical Doubler and Industrial Quadrupler and I was hoping to modify some of the building packs that SC4PAC allows you to easily install to match the appropriate filling degree (0.1/0.2) to compliment those mods to vanilla buildings.
  2. Recently I've discovered a rather unique way of saving space in the in-game menu that I'd like to discuss with you. I don't know if this has already been discussed before, I never heard of it, and I found it out by just trying it out. And most likely this won't be related to any mod or content I'm planning to release; I'd just like to talk about something I found out. You may be aware of the fact that every building in SC4 requires a lot exemplar file and a building exemplar file to work properly. Usually with ploppables, both have the same IID and are located in the same file, and there's one building exemplar for every lot exemplar. With growables, this can be different: You can have multiple buildings assigned to one lot by creating cohort files, and you can point multiple lots to the same building. The last mentioned way ist being done by just making sure that several lots get the same building in LE, or copying the corresponding LotConfigPropertyLotObject(Data) from one lot to another. I once wanted to find out what would happen if you do this with a ploppable lot: letting multiple lots point to the same building exemplar files. In case you want to try it out on your own, I've quickly created some test lots and attached them to this post (it's in the park menu, there are 4 1x1 lots with just a simple base texture, and the lot will cost 3 $ per month, so you can see if it works). Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention, when trying these testlots, please search for "zzz Testlot". Results: Only one icon is present in the game menu, and when you use this, it will always give you the same lot: the one defined by the Lot Resource Key property. The lotplop cheat will still allow you to choose which lot you want to place. The buildingplop cheat will list only the one building exemplar file, but when you choose it, it will also allow you to choose which lot you want to use in the next window. Putting multiple entries into the Lot Resource Key property doesn't change anything, it will still only give you the first lot in the list when choosing the lot from the menu. Lot size doesn't seem to matter. Would this be useful to you? That's probably the question. I could think that this could be useful for a plugin that comes with a very high number of lots, thus making saving space in the game menu something that would really help, where all lots have the same settings (cost, landmark or other effects, jobs and so on), perhaps one lot is much more frequently being used than the others, so you will want to have easy access to it from the menu, and some others are used rarely enough that you won't mind typing in "lotplop" every time you need such a lot. Ploppable water systems, such as the BSC Canals or Diggis water lots, would probably fulfill these requirements. Of course, the most important requirements for such a way to organize lots would be: A really good naming pattern for both the building exemplar and all lot exemplar files, so you can not only find them, but you also know only from the name what it looks like, This is only for people who really know what they are doing, and know this game well, and you need to write a good readme to explain it (and it requires that the readme is actually read to the end).   3. Dear all, I have a question when testing some railway stations which were modeled recently, Is there a way to install multiple train automata mods? For Instance, I have two or three favorite trains, Can they come up randomly at the same time without having the cars and engine's mixed, It looks unlikely by now, I tried to put two VDK trains into plugins, there was only one of them came out, I guessed they probably rewrite by each other.     Hi Sim bros and sis, This is my first time uploading a lot. I know this is not perfect yet but after many times playing SC4, then I had an idea if I can mod a lot to have two buildings and functions in one lot. So then finally I can make this and hopefully it will give you fun. This mod consists of two lots: 1. BobHPB - Security Center Head Quarter: Provide integrated police and fire department functions. Can dispatch both police and fire trucks. It generate income as well as cost. 2. BobHPB - Security Operational Administration Office: Support the head quarters with 2 unit cops and 2 units fire trucks, also a jail in this lot complex. This lot actually can help you in plopping services in one instance, so it can make you easy to plop the police dept and fire dept, and also give you an aesthetic touch of the view from the complex that can make your city beautiful. Each lot can be separately plopped. If you dont have enough simeleon and still in small town development, then you can plop the Operational office only.
