Is there a mapper or terraformer mod or app for SC4 on 64 bit macOS? The ones I've found here for Mac are obsolete or disappeared.

Since I broke my previous computer, I use a Macbook Pro under Catalina (terrible for games I know), the problem is that I can't run 32bits games anymore and of course SimCity (2013) is a 32bits game So Is there any way to play in 64bits?

Since upgrading to Big Sur and installing the 64-bit version from the app store, I get terrible pixelation on the region screens, and when I close a city that's been played at a resolution higher than the default of 1600 x 900 (?) I get a weird line on the region map... the higher the resolution, the bigger the line. Is there a setting that I'm just missing?

Work in Progress, please do not add new replies for the time being! As per the info from this post, problems have been noticed with Custom Content using incorrect values. This only affects Mac Users and it's unlikely that users would notice a problem when running the 32-bit Mac version from either the App Store or Steam (basically identical). Recently, due to the removal of 32-bit support from Mac OS beginning with Catalina, all Mac users are being updated to the new 64-bit Mac version of SC4. If you have installed affected content in your Plugins folder, you may experience problems either loading the game or cities or otherwise be subject to a CTD when selecting such content to use. Therefore, I thought it would help to have a single place where people can find patched files and report issues to get them patched. Given all the modding tools are Windows apps, but only Mac users see the problems, it's necessary to work together to do what we can to rectify the issue. I'll be setting up another forum for Reporting issues, with a complete explanation of both the problem and how to identify affected content. This thread is reserved for posting fixes and so I intend to manage that process, so that it remains free of clutter and as easy to browse as possible. Lastly, I've added the tag Mac Compatible to my own uploads, where I've been able to test them as functioning on the Mac version. All such content will be filtered when clicking on this link. Where updates can be made directly on the STEX (most ideal), I'd like to ask people to use this tag, it will make finding working Mac files much easier. Otherwise where necessary, we'll just add replacements for the affected files in this thread.

"Upgrading" to Win-7 Pro x64: 4GB Patch not helping
jeffryfisher posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I recently rebuilt my legacy PC with Windoze 7 Pro 64-bit. After installing SC4 from "The Box" disk set, I manually copied a whole slew of critical files from my moribund XP disk to the new areas. Among the replacements (after making backups) was my fully patched SC4 exe. It runs without crashing, but I noticed that it never grabbed more than 1GB of RAM. So I downloaded and ran the original 4GB patch against it. However, even after that and with 8GB recognized and usable by Windoze, SC4 typically tops out at ~700MB, leaving 6GB free, unused and wasted. And I mention this because my play is marred by gross delays during which I can hear intense HDD activity smacking of page-swapping. The triggers are almost random. Sometimes I can zoom ok, and sometimes I must wait 2 minutes. Sometimes I can rotate a city in a fraction of a second, and sometimes I must wait 3 minutes. Sometimes I can drop a menu instantly, and sometimes I must wait a minute+. WTF? I've been through generic Win-7 help. The generic system optimization hasn't helped. What ran smoothly in Win-XP is now hanging in Win-7 64-bit, and I need to fix it. I've searched the Internet and hit a haystack. How can I coax Win-7 to allocate more than 700MB to SC4? How can I coax Win-7 to use more than 3GB total for applications? I'll try to get a config log from the machine later today and post it here. One bit of good news: Now having 8GB, I experimented with a RAM-disk. My 2:18 game-load dropped to 47 seconds, and my 3:10 city-load dropped to 2:00 flat. These gains are before dat-packing. Granted, the RAM-disk takes time to load, but I am writing scripts to do that at start-up and later remind me after playing that I should sync updated cities to HDD. -
Modding Origin Digital Version of SimCity 4
UndercoverNinja12 posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I've been having some issues with SimCity 4 lately, notably being that one of my computers was upgraded to Windows 10 and will no longer run SimCity 4 from the CD, and my new laptop for college is 64-bit, not 32-bit (but Windows 7), and I have been unable to get SC4 to work there either. So, I've been forced to use the digital version of SC4 from Origin. That runs fine. My question is, how do I mod the digital version (if it is possible). I use the NAM plus a ton of custom content, and playing vanilla SimCity just doesn't do it for me. Alternatively, if anyone has any tips/ideas for running SC4 from the CD on a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop, I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance! -
SC4 will not start, only momentarilly in task manager.

Ok, this has been very frustrating, I had installed my disk version of Simcity 4 Deluxe Edition onto my Windows 7 64-bit computer with absolutely no problems. However, when I try to launch the game any way I can, it always crashes just after the process begins. It has happened both on here and my laptop, however I'm more worried about here, on my desktop. Things I have already tried. -Downloadable Simcity 4 Launcher (multiple different settings in it) -Target tags -CPU cores setting to 1 -compatability modes for XP, 98, as well as disabled themes, and running in administrator mode. -restarting the PC -re-installing the game file into Programs Files instead of Program Files (x86) -turning off sound, turning off intro, doing windowed mode and borderless mode, setting 1 CPU core for it, setting to different priorities, setting the resolution at different levels. - updating the game to 1.1.638.0, and then to 1.1.640.0 None of that which I have tried, worked. I would really appreciate it if someone can help me find a solution to this problem, it's very frustrating trying to fix the game, when you can use that time to actually play it. Here are my system specifications: Intel Athlon 64-bit dual core processor 2.31GHz ATI Radeon 4600 series graphics Sound card unknown motherboard ASUS M2N68-AM SE2
