  1. PEG CDK3 Garbage Docks

This is awesome! I love the whole story behind it (especially the 'bodies found' thing lol =D). The industrial look is sure to fit in with some of my future cities... two thumbs & 10/10!
  2. COCO Park

The nightlighting is beautiful, & the execution of the complex shapes is too!
  3. ITS Euston Road Tower Revisited

Looks cool. Great quality. Most of all, it is a CO$$, need more of those =D ! Two thunbs!
  4. Frankie's Help Line

Hi Frankie! I need help with this problem. I have recently started a region. So far, I have several residental cities & one main city with commercial & high tech industry. To this point, demand for high tech in the residental cities (or any other city for that matter) is very high. I had started to build industrial for high tech in the commercial city. It grew to about 4,000 jobs total. Both I-D & I-M are taxed to maximum to avoid them to grow. No I-A. Then demand tanks in the commercial city, & it is now at zero (no positive or negative demand). I previously had the Industry Doubler mod available on the STEX. I thought that was the problem, so I removed it. I re-enter the game, the buildings now have the normal capacity of jobs. The demand went up again. I zone some more industrial, & it grows, but again the demand stagnates at about 4,000. I have one seaport in that city, & it isn't even close to capacity (~200/500), so I don't think it has to do with bad freight trips. The demand is still high in the residental cities (it is at 6,000 in the demand graph, maxedf out). (Note: Could I-H be dependent of I-M or I-D? I have enough I-D because there is no demand, but there is very high demand for I-M, but I haven't given ti any space. I don't thjink this is the problem either because the I-H demand is high in all the cities except for the commercial one. Could another factor be the large amount of commercial jobs in the city? Esp. CO$$$?)

However, we will certainly see more and more mid-rises and "conventional" high-rises...there are so many 1-3 story buildings (of course, this is dependent on the geographic area...so I should restrict this opinion to the USA) that it simply wouldn't be necessary to build such tall skyscrapers in 2050. My opinion would be that it certainly could be done, but would it be pursued? (a minimum of 6 miles is quite an undertaking, but 44 years are still remaining...considering the technological curve, that is a LONG time)....Afterthought: but the lower stratosphere is where commercial airliners typically fly these days...that might make things a bit complicated! I think you mean low-density suburbia will collapse...some high-density suburbs may merge with the main cities, but I would guess most would prefer to keep their identity.quote> Yeah, I meant the lower density suburbs. As for the supertall skyscrapers, just think of it as a sarcasm...lol...
  6. First BAT

This sounds interesting. It could be useful in a cj (or the conclusion of one anyways, lol).
  7. Diagonal ground/elevated highway stack

Have you clicked on the custom interchanges button under the highways tab? There is one called the orthagonal x diagonal cloverleaf interchange. It is only for elevated highway though. I think that is the one you are looking for. P.S.: Remember to press 'Tab' to cycle through the options under a button...

I will be celebrating my 60th Birthday (June 11, 2050) Happy Birthday 2. Future U.S. Presidents will continue to ignore the national debt, which could reach the high trillions 3. A meteor will strike Earth in April 2029 (Highly possible) near, or destroying a major city (maybe Berlin or Moscow) 4. Gas prices will reach $5+ (U.S. Dollar) by 2040 There wont be any by then, and thats still less then what we brits pay today lol. (5. Deals with Global Warming/ rising temperature) 5A. Climate continues to heat up, 2-4 degree increase in world temperature by 2050 5B. Hurricane & Typhoons increasing strength wreaking havoc on cities such as; Kobe, Tokyo, Houston, Hong Kong, and Miami. 5C. Europe will see temperatures reaching 100+ around Paris or London Allready has 6. The United States will increase it's occupation in the Middle East and attempt to gain control of their (Middle Eastern) oil fields. 7. Isreal may occupy Lebanon and other surrounding countries. 8. Hummer will go out of business in favor of more economical vechicles. 9. Japan will be the most technologically advanced country in the world. Allready is 10. Japaniese cars will top world auto markets in terms of sales. 11. Maglev Trains will be tested and commissioned for cities in either Germany or Japan. Allready are, in fact the UK is building one between London and Glasgow soon 12. Los Angeles will be the most polluted city in the world. That i doubt 13. An earthquake will hit either Seattle, San Francisco, or Los Angeles causing massive disruptions in air travel, international commerce, and daily life in the affected areas. 14. Credit cards will replace paper money, but face massive problems such as identity theft and personal debt. Very likely 15. The European Union will be the most powerful and strongest economy in the world.quote> quote> I agree with the corrections that Tonkso made. In terms of consumer products (computers, cellphones, etc., Sony, you know...), yeah Japan is at the top. As for Los Angeles, I doubt it too. Look at other cities now. (compare the pictures below, Mexico City vs. L.A.) Mexico City Los Angeles Although many posts regard China being the next superpower, that is another of the places that will make the air (& maybe traffic) in L.A. look good. (This is assuming all these places go in the same track they are going in now. At the rate that China is erecting power plants, coal fired power plants for that matter, using its coal reserves, & releasing CO2 emissions into the air, it is presently ranked as the 2nd most polluting country in the world, behind the U.S. who is first, but will most possibly reach, rival, & surpass it sometime. Another factor to consider is the fact that China is the biggest importer of iron in the world, to make steel out of it, & steel mills, though to me personally impressive to look at, are not a good thing for the environment.) MagLev trains in more use around the world? Hopefully. An earthquake devastating the West Coast of the U.S.. Possible (very). But not hopefully. As for a small side-subject, politics in the world will really be screwed up, especially with incompetents *cough*bush*cough* eventually replacing even the brightest of real politicians because of joke companies such as Phillip Morris. Back to the subject of urbanism, cities will probably merge together. Buildings will reach into the stratosphere. New more weather resistant materials will be needed. I think that suburbia will collapse, eventually letting cities become total gridirons. Dystopia. Please no. That is one way it could go. For the sake of not making this post any longer, maybe the world will advance as predicted by some astrologers, who believe that the Age of Aquarius will help humanity reach a time of harmony, dominated by high technology as a mainstay, as well as medical advancement. Invest in high tech. Great idea. (Bio-engineering, programming, graphic design, etc.)
  9. Tower Life Building

Unanimous 10/10! The detail is impeccable, & the floodlights are very realistic. The terra cotta texture is also awesome. 2 thumbs up!
  10. the Golden Gate in 2050

This would go great with the wrecked ship lots by fukuda & the plane crash lot that you made a while ago. Awesome. 10/10...definitely.
  11. Downtown Performing Arts Centre

It draws a certain reaction from the viewer when they see the building. Very unique. It would fit pretty well with other futuristic lots. I really like the lights behind the bars. Originality at its peak...8/10, exceptional quality.
  12. DA NDEX Williams Tower

Cool. I agree that the building would look a lot better if it were to be larger (the general design of the building looks like it would fit a taller building). Its very good however, esp. for a first BAT. Needs a little work wth the nightlighting & the textures, but still too close to professional quality to be ignored. Take it or leave it? Taking it. Click. Download...
  13. That last paragraph says a lot. Resources should become a part of SC, whether in an expansion pack (it would have to be a very radical one though), a new game, or a totally new line of Sim games...lol. It would make the game more interesting with making structures such as coal mines & oil derricks actually functional. A whole new dimension of SC play... wheeeeeeeeeeeee. Some interesting ideas here. Personally I am content with SC4 & RH, flaws & all. But improvement is always welcome...at a price of buying a new game, or God forbid a new computer. Just my comment. Or 2 cents anyway.
  14. RNP Villa Aiser

Thge detail on the building is amazing. I also really like the idea of an Eneregy Neutral Building, i think it would go well with more modern cities (its a modern concept). I agree with Goldfish4209 that the building is a little thin however, especially for a R$$$. Great lighting, 10/10 hands down.
  15. Particle Accelerator

i agree w/ Johny-Walker about the fact about shrinking it from such a hige size, it takes away realism. Ignoring that, the lot itself doesn't look half bad, so 7/10. One suggestion though, I'd take away the gray texture from under the circle, it looks too artificial if you know what I mean.
