A heavy lift terminal with 800t cranes to load components of wind turbines for the wind industry in SimCity4. This File contains several props and 2 lots: A_1P_SP_Dock_3x6-HeavyLiftTerminal_atwork A_1P_SP_Dock_3x6-HeavyLiftTerminal The lots are using the PEG CDK3 Sea Port Waterfront - Style. At this post other lots are listed that go well together with the WindIndustry Port lots. Dependencies • PEG-CDK3-SP_SEAPORT_SUPER-PAK.dat • PEG_ChainLinkFence_RESOURCE.dat • A_1P WindIndustry Port Pack-1.1 Thanks to the simtropolis and sc4devotion community for support and advice. Additionally, I thank the Heretic Seaport Project team, for providing the base lots and UI design. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and I might do a v1.1 if I have some responses.- 6 Comments

Hi Dreadnought, sorry for the confusion. Use V1.1 of both packs, so install: A_1P_WindIndustry_HeavyLiftTerminal1.1.zip A_1P_WindIndustryPort-Pack1.1.zip the reason that there a two options available is due to the version history (I rendered the props in HD and redid the lots in v1.1) The barge seems to have been removed unfortunately, but I plan to come up with transport and installation vessels if you are willing to wait a little https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/32831-wz-wind-turbine-farm-barge/ Btw the inspiration for the HeavyLiftTerminal is in Blexen, you might know it.

The wind industry port lots and heavy lift terminal are now available in HD render for download! Enjoy and let me know what you think! (If you we already using the pack I recommend to redownload and replace the lots in the game, sorry there is no automatic override) also, the lots and the props are now seperated into two dat-files

working on a heavy lift terminal for the windindustry port: could some of the experienced modelers explain to me which options there are to render in a higher resolution? so far the understanding that I have of the process is what I am using: gmax+BAT game pack> can render in "high" as maximum setting and save in *.SC4Model (is there a way to circumvent this setting or boost in in some config file?) I heard that 3ds MAX from autodesk can be used and I would assume it can render in a higher resolution, but how is the SC4Model file created then? is there a sc4 addon for 3ds MAX (seems unlikely to me)

I am glad someone is using this! Right now I working on the heavy lift terminal, and a bigger lot that can go with the components, and make the scene a little more authentic. If you enjoy creating ports I really recomment this post of me listing waterfront styles and lots that can be used together. Here is some inspieration for a navy, oil, and garbage port I created:

Okay everyone I am trying it, here is the first content I created. These are port-lots with parts for offshore wind turbines awaiting shipping to the site. Here is some inspiration of what you can build with it (the blade factory in the left of the screenshot is created by Simmer2): This File contains several props and 9 lots: A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6_RotorBlades A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Hubs A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Nacelles A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-TransitionPieces A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Towers & A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Towers2 A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustry_1x5-TransitionL A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustry_1x5-TransitionR A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustryFiller The lots are using the PEG CDK3 Sea Port Waterfront - Style. At this post other lots are listed that go well together with the WindIndustry Port lots. Dependencies • PEG-CDK3-SP_SEAPORT_SUPER-PAK.dat • PEG_ChainLinkFence_RESOURCE.dat Thanks to the simtropolis and sc4devotion community especially Tyberius06, Simmer2 and mattb325 for support and advice. Additionally, I thank the Heretic Seaport Project team, for providing the base lots and UI design. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and I might do a v1.1 if I have some responses. My next project might be a heavy lift terminal to load the components or a jackup vessel for turbine installation.- 6 Comments

Yeah, i totally understand. It took me a few moments to get it, but in the end it is pretty straight forward... A big plus is that you can pick what you want to organize, things you don't touch remain in the menus you are used to. (my Plugin folder is only 3 GB tho). Good luck if you wannt to try it some day!

Seaports menu is absolutely right! I will add that to the description, thanks for the feedback! I am using DAMN Manager to remove some of my content from the game menu to my own menus, would that maybe help you too? (you can configure your won menu structure and then use the message box in the game to navigate your files)

Hi Everyone, I am very close to finishing my first few lots for sc4. However, I have a few questions that the more experienced people here might be able to answer so my stuff is a little more desirable. 1. Missing shadows As you can see my self made props have no shadows unlike the other items in this lot. I am assuming that is a rendering thing? I used gmax to create this content. Is there a way to get shadows using gmax? 2. Difficult railway overlay textures in lot In some zoom lvls/ rotation orientations the railway tracks seem to disappear and reappear. Any advice? I used LotEditor Is there a way to make the forklifts appearing at random times? 3. Custom Query Window I used lots from the Heretic Seaport Project to start with my content and of course I am trying to implement my own custom query window and connect to my lot with the reader. That does not work unfortunately. I guess I am missing something. Any advice is appreciated. Query Window file: Lot File: If there is ay other info needed, just let me know. Thanks to everyone who can help!

As announced, I created more content for the wind industry in sc4. This is a blade reck as mounted on construction vessels for offshore farms. The tip of the blades are usually hung in slings: Is there a way to export in a higher quality than the "High-Option given in GMAX- BAT?

I just got into creating my first few models for sc4 and decided to spice up the offshore (and maybe at some point onshore) wind industry a bit. The first piece I created for this, is a typical Transition Piece (TP) that is used to form the connection between the monopile (foundation) and tower of offshore wind turbines:

YES, that was it, excellent! Thank you so much! I am very new to this, but I am relatively skilled with autocad and inventor so it is kinda oldschool fun playing with GMAX! I just don't know all the secrets yet. Here is my first own building -

Hi mattb325, thanks for the quick reply (your stuff is waesome by the way!) I adjusted my building to be centered in GMAX, but now only half of it is rendered, that is what i tried to express in the 1st post. It seems to me that Camera Z5 (left window in screenshot above) is what GMAX determins as the "area" that is rendered (and i do not know how to adjust this camera z5) (?!) as you can see my building is now at the edge of that camera angle and i assume that is why my building is cut off: -

Hi everyone, I have an issue with the zone that BAT places my building on. I set up my building in the positive area of y around the x-axis: When i export this building and try to integrate in a lot, it is somehow shiftet (roughly one tile) from where the LotEditor claims it is: I tried moving my building down the y-axis in BAT and export it again, but it seems like the rendering zone does not shift (camera Z5 shows the building just on the edge) and parts of the building get cut off now: Can anyone explain to me how to position the building that is crated in BAT in the center of the lot that is created for it, or how to adjust the area thet Gmax uses to export the file? Thanks very much! -

CHAPTER 11 -- THE COAL HANDLING PLANT
AP commented on Dreadnought's City Journal Entry in IMPERIAL DOCKYARDS WILHELMSHAVEN
I would not be able to recognize the similarities anyway since the harbouur has sure canged a lot since the Kaiserzeit (reign of the emperor). Today I would assume the most significant areas are the "vierte Hafeneinfahrt" that is used by the navy and oil port as well as the old navy arsenal (which ich probably still accurate to the old times location) and the newly build Jade-Weser Port. I guess the only way to be more accurate would be by going through old city chronicals and historic maps to try to figure out which areas had which functions and how they were connected. (If you are interested, I think I have areal photographs of the hoarbor from a few years ago) Good luck for your next project!- 7 Comments
