This article was copied from SC4ever.com. This article originally created by Al Leighton. Is your city full of little shacks and poor citizens? Do all your industries just give low end jobs. Do you want to change this? The first thing that you have to do to get wealthy citizens and industries is make sure that there is water everywhere. People need water to live right. Then you have to provide educational buildings from elementary schools to college. Make sure that they have good funding and have enough school bus funding. Then you will have to provide healthcare. Once again, make sure that you have enough funding for the hospital itself and ambulance funding too. Also make sure that the area of your city you want to make rich has police and fire coverage, but it is not necessary. Also build parks and trees. Try this for a while and see if it helps. If it doesn't and people just are still living in shacks, check on air, water and garbage pollution. If either of these is bad, that will reduce desireability. For water pollution, you will have to build a water treatment plant and connect it to your water system. To treat garbage pollution, build a landfill, or sell your garbage. For a landfill, make sure it's not near any area that you want to make nice. For air pollution, you will have to destroy and power plants and dirty industries nearby. As well, if you can, try not to use power lines as they are not very nice. Once you've done all this, you should see an increase in wealth. But if all this fails, then raise the lower wealth taxes to about 13%. Lower class citizens will still probably stay but you will see wealthy people ($$$) moving in and building mansions and estates. A nice thing to do is set up an area far away from your main city that has all of the above and see if you can't make a nice little suburb. Having wealthy citizens will make your whole city nicer and it will make industries become more wealthy. Thank you.

This article was copied from SC4ever.com. This article originally created by Bernard. You begin by making a graduated income tax by setting residential $$% higher than $%, and $$$% higher than $$%. Then you do the same thing for commercial. Next, your eyes move down to Industrial. STOP! Now think. Low income residents have less education, and will work in dirty or manufacturing industries. The $$$ residents usually have an excellent education, and always prefer high-tech industry. The result; you will NEVER see a dirty or manufacturing industrial building be more than $$, and high-tech buildings are ALWAYS $$$. What does this tell you? It means that to tax $$$ industry higher than $ or $$ industry results in less demand for high-tech. If you want high-tech industries, you must lower the $$$ industrial tax. To discourage polluting industries, raise the $ and $$ industrial taxes. This brings us to another point. If you want to force dirty industry to leave your city forever, raise the $ and $$ to an insanely high number. Just make sure that there is enough high-tech demand to replace most of the other industry, or you will be left with no industry. Also, remember to destroy the abandoned buildings if you have the simoleons, because they still pollute. Thank you.

I think, STEX rating system should be changed like Google Play. on Google Play, you can only rate an object once. You can't rate it again. This is effective. Some users are using "downrate" system first then if the BAT is good, they'll rate as they want. I've seen many on Google Play. Also, I think we should add questions like "Is the mod made prop pox?" Google Play was implemented this feature several time ago. Thank you.

sale Is There SimCity 4 Big Discount/Giveway on GoG?
Propfam posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hello everyone, I've $10 here. I want to buy SimCity 4. But, I don't want my money to be empty. I want some reserves. I want to buy SimCity 4 if the price is around $4/$5. So, I want to buy SimCity 4 when big discount or in giveway. However, I've a question. Will GoG.com discount or giveaway SimCity 4 in the future? I want to 'subscribe' to that. Also, I hope the SimCity 4 price is around $4/$5. Thank you. -
Is there a SimCity 2000 to SC4 Giveaway?
Propfam replied to Propfam's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Good joke. For withdrawing, aside from my mom recommendation, I must deposit on bank. Not on my school fund-saving service (I forget the name). This is for ease of withdrawing. But, this is require difficult process. Also, the promo is almost over and I couldn't withdraw except in school. -
Major flaw in Windows systems... make sure you've patched it.

Do you know Let's Encrypt? They are providing us with FREE certificates! I'm not their staff/sponsor. I'm just support their action. The certificate is free, but with short lifetime (I think about 3 months, can be auto-renew'd with a script). Based on a research (you can find it on Google), HTTPS website is immune from any eavesdropping. HTTPS also provide protections of path censor (usually, websites are censored by IP/domain name, but in some countries, websites are censored partially). I think, IPS has option to enable HTTPS. If you still see HTTP-version of the site even you've installed the cert, you must redirect it by configuring .htaccess or nginx settings. Back to the topic, the IPS cloud hosting (that are used to host this site) should be safe because they aren't running Windows (Win licenses aren't cheap). If their hosting is compromised, they'll restore last good backup. They'll fix the problem shortly Thanks.- 80 Replies

Is there a SimCity 2000 to SC4 Giveaway?
Propfam replied to Propfam's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Yeah, SC2K is free. But, I want to buy SC2K (if not abadonware), SC3000, and SC4. I want like @CorinaMarie (I was typed "Corina Marine" , seriously but this is fun). I want to be edit SC3K and want to replace my old CDs. I think, SC3K & SC4 is good due to ability to terraform the terrain, edit buildings (editing building is more easier on SC3K than 4, but SC4 is more advanced), good mod potentials (this is increasing on SC4), can make custom airport/seaport (SC3K), can use funny glitch (SC3K), and I want to make CJ!!! Thank you. -
Hello, I want to buy all SimCity series. I have enough money. But, my mom 'prohibit' me to withdraw now. My mom suggest to withdraw at the end of month. By this, can you giveaway giftcodes to somebody on my post (SimCity 2000-4 Giveaway) and with 'the fastest can get it' system? Thank you.

This article is copied from SC4ever.com. This article originally created by David Worsley (Duvad). I'll migrate the photos to Google Photos, stay tuned. This small guide has been created for people, like me, who like to design beautiful, realistic-looking cities, rather than huge skyscraper-filled cities. This has just some basic tips for when creating realistic cities. The are also some pictures for you to view, of cities I have been building. General Tips Remember to use elevation! Using the terraforming tools, creating small hills, not too high, but enough that the change is at least visible. These small hills can add a lot of beauty to your city, especially when in CBD areas and small neighbourhood areas. Never use grids, except for when you are planning your CBD area(s). There is possibly not one city in the world that is just based on a grid. Grids are unrealistic and makes cities look very boring. They can only really be used in the CBD areas for the large skyscrapers. Try not to make everything straight. Meaning that when creating cul-de-sacs or your "blocks", do not have them all the same length/size and try to make some roads twist and wined. Either play your game on slow or medium speed, as it will give you enough time to plan your zones and other things out. "Downtown" or CBD Like I've said above, this is pretty much the only place where you should be using grids. It can help force the construction of office towers, if your population becomes high enough. Try to have small recreation areas every 7 or so grids. It not only highers the desiriblity for residential/commercial, but also looks nice on the eye. Inner Suburbs The inner suburbs of your city are usually "blocks" where the whole area inside of the roads is a type of zone. You should also just be laying down low residential/commercial zones, leaving the rest of taller buildings for the middle of your region - your "downtown", or CBD. Remember to build parks in these "blocks". If you get one of the mansion-type houses in your zones, you can destroy any other buildings in that block, then replace those zones with "Open Grass Areas", and finally adding trees to the top of them. You can even rename that mansion, if you want. Spreading these "mansion blocks" evenly across your city and uncommonly, gives a pleasing effect to the eye. On the busier roads of your suburbs, these areas should be where all your commercial shops should be zoned. But remember, unless they are office parks, it should all be zoned low density! Outer Suburbs/Small Surrounding Towns In these areas, they should be full of cul-de-sacs, leading to the main roads of the cities. You should zone at least 2 by (x) residential around these cul-de-sac streets. Any unzoned areas inbetween your cul-de-sac streets can be filled with either Open Grass Areas or trees, though they aren't really needed. Using some of the buildings available under the "Parks" menu, you can get some pretty nice looking parks. In the example above, I've used the Open Grass Areas mixed with Open Pavements to create a walkway effect. This article is copied from SC4ever.com. This article originally created by Kendal Strickland. The most difficult thing for me about SC4 has been its emphasis on budgeting and careful financial planning. As you may have noticed, keeping a balanced budget has now become MUCH more difficult, necessitating a heightened awareness of the relationship between revenues and city expenses. Here I present my ideas on how to create a thriving, self-sufficient, and financially sound city. The very first city in a "region" has to be self-sufficient; it must rely on itself for income. Taxes provide the bulk of this revenue. For this reason I prefer to use high density zones to start with, as to me the increased tax revenues outweigh the initial zoning costs. Otherwise, though, I don't use any special method of laying out my city. Once the city is laid out and all utilities in place, I do an "audit" of all my expenses. This should happen before the game is initially unpaused. At the beginning of the game, there is no need to fully fund all your services and utilities, as this is simply a waste of money. Power, Water, Schools, Police, Fire, and Medical facilities can all be cut to lower funding levels, as my beginning population is never so large as to fully utilize them. It takes some measure of experimentation to get this right. Next I meddle in taxes. Your tax policies will of course be dependent on your goals for the city, but as a general rule you can get away with having higher residential taxes than industrial or commercial. In the early stages, commercial zones should pay the least taxes. I have found that it is best for city aura when one discourages low-wealth development. I do this through a regressive tax system. For example, low-wealth might be taxed at 8%, medium at 7.5%, and high wealth at 7%. (In real life this would be horribly unfair, but in SimCity it pays to be elitist). At this point it is OK to unpause the game. In a short while development will begin to spring up. Once your zones are more or less fully developed, take a look at your cash flow. It will almost always be negative at first, and your treasury will shrink at what seems like an alarming rate. Not to worry, though. As the city approaches "broke," accept every business deal except the toxic waste plant. They will help pad your shaky budget. Frequently check up on your utilities by "auditing" them; you will have to increase your funding as the city's population grows. Hopefully this cost will be offset by increased tax revenues. At this point your cash flow will either be negative or close to break even. In order to expand and grow your city, you must employ the power of leverage. When you want to expand or build something special, you must take out a loan to provide the capital. Loans cost you money every month, so the key is to use part of your loan to create revenue, hopefully more than the cost of the loan payment. You do this by placing in-demand zones, as much as you can spare. Whatever you don't use for zoning can be used for city improvements or other costly endeavours. For example, if you discover you need to build a power plant costing $7000, you might take out a loan for $20000, and use $13000 for creating new zones, and $7000 to build the plant. This way, you can provide new services to your city while keeping things growing at a nice rate. Be judicious with loans, however, and don't just take on debt without a plan. Thank you.

. ZDN in my username isn't mean that. ZDN is meaning acronym of my call name, Z ay d a n (spaced word mean a character of that acronym, I'm using tablet to post so bolding is 'painful'). Yes, I can buy but my mom 'prohibit' me to withdraw my balance. See my posts for giveaway suggestion. I couldn't explain it here because it can be out topic.

I've seen a community that a way of 2 ways to be a staff is always active, contribute, and make an application. I think, this community doesn't need anything but trustworthiness, active (I think the member doesn't need to active 24 hour a day), and make a big contribution. I think, the moderators here is more relaxing than more need-moderated-things community, like multiplayer servers. Correct me if I wrong. Thanks.

I think, this is a time to implement revision backup system. Some people (due to storage price) just copied a backup (not incremented) to external drive to ensure they aren't infected by ransomware. But, if the drive is corrupted by ransomware, those people can't restore the data. Is there 'Git-like' backup system but it's free for all platforms and doesn't decrease the space drastically. By the way, the name is WannaCrypt/WannaCry. Some counters in some hospital in Indonesia had this malware. The counter is error. I don't know the counters have sensitive data or not. The attack is targeted to 99 countries including US and Indonesia. However, some IP has been 'taken down' by the malware itself. But, the data still encrypted and (possibly) stole by the creator if the victim doesn't pay.- 80 Replies

This article is copied from SC4ever.com. This article include 2 two article created by A miscullanius mayor and Mayor Matt. If this article has problems, just send comment below. When You Started a Town Zone residential and commercial next to each other, and industrial about seven-ten tiles away. Put an avenue through the residential/commercial and industrial. Put a toll booth on it if you like. For small town, use gas power plant. For medium-sized and large town, use coal. If you want to conserve the nature, you use wind power plant or use Cogeo Photovolatic Power Plant. Your commercial demand won't be very high until there's an airport. You shouldn't build a small airport until you have 26,000 sims in your city (that's when you can zone high density for skyscrapers). If you want to zone high density, you have met two requirements: water (pipes should be 12 spaces from each other, avoid diagonals), and 1,100 sims. Build a clinic (or two) until you have 1,100 sims, then build a large medical center. You pay $200/month for a huge coverage area, three clinics = $300/month for the smae area. Get a sim as soon as possible to get maximum feedback about your city. When in Middle of the Game Bulldoze old water towers! I think they still cost upkeep but produce nothing. (Not sure, but I could have swore that they do! Will experiment later) I have not played with the different combinations, but I have a city with 125000 people, and I have a fully maxed out munincipal airport, and it is still not big enough! I guess the best thing is to build big. Build all of those gifts, even things like opera houses. You may think it is a waste of money and space, but you can always cut the funding if you need to, and it just makes for a better city. Building a major art museum and other things makes your city a better place to live in. The funding is usually so minimal that it doesn't impact your bottom line much, and new sims will probably move into your highly cultured city so fast it won't matter anyhow. As to that effect, look at all the requirements for the different gifts. See what you need, and see if you can get the requirements filled painlessly. If you are only one library away to get the main-branch library, why not plop another library down? (provided that all the libraries are good, it needs good libraries, which means funding) Upgrade all your old streets to roads, even in low traffic areas. It just makes for a smoother commute for everyone. Try building an integrated transit system. If you have train stations, try linking them up to subways or bus stations. With practice, I have made systems that made enough in fares to pay for itself! (It is not uncommon in my largest city to find a trainstation subway station combo that has over 5000 commuters a day, or more) Building highways can help keep traffic down. I noticed this when one half of my city (without highways) had really bad traffic and another half (almost as dense building wise, but had highways) had little traffic. Try specializing cities. My main city has massive blocks of residential and commerical, but little industrial. Neighbor cities are filled with heavy industries and agriculture. Although neighbor cities get the shaft population wise, they still end up being pretty decent. After you are making good money, start dozing (or torching with the god tools, its free!) the bad business deal buildings (like the waste dump... yech). In the end, I'll probably keep the casino and federal prison, but I want to dump the rest (I mean, they were only tools to make me money anyhow, no hard feelings Army Base). Thank you.

From client side/your perspective, Google Photos is best place to save your images. The compression algorithm doesn't reduce the quality of image drastically, especially for non-detail images like CJ images (I don't afiliated with Google). The storage is unlimited if you choose this option. If you want details, just select Original but you don't get unlimited storage except if you have Pixel phones. The 15 GB storage is more than enough for CJ images since in-game screenshot never produce RAW format. If you don't want Google monopoly, you can use the included attachment feature. The attachment, however isn't for CJs because the image is embedded on bottom of the post. From server side, S3 is a big storage house. You can save files on it with cheap prices since it's using object-level storage. You just need to pay if there is an object or more. However, S3 is difficult to implement. You must to install some plugins to accomplish the task. Thanks

What kind of fanbase does SimCity 4 have today?
Propfam replied to ReshiramLover's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm played SimCity 2013 long time ago. But, the graphics isn't too realistic compared to SimCity 4. The critical features like terraforming couldn't be found on SimCity 2013. The gameplay is changing drastically. And, there is no NAM-equivalent mod (both in function and size) in the SC2013 community. UDoN isn't big like NAM. So, I think SimCity 4 is more better than the 2013 version. Old is gold, though.- 11 Replies

sale Is There SimCity 4 Big Discount/Giveway on GoG?
Propfam replied to Propfam's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thanks for info. I have sufficient money. But, I couldn't withdraw easily since my money is in my school saving (or in Indonesian, tabungan sekolah). My mom recommend to withdraw in the end of May. This mean I can't buy 3 series of SimCity now. Can someone giveaway at least 10 giftcodes to someone on a post with 'who fast is getting the item' system. Thank you. -
For texturing, sorry I'm can't build it because I've no knowledge in NAM modding. I'll learn that soon. Can you give me a tutorial how to mod the NAM?

Yeah, I was adding empty filling in my post. You can give me an idea to make 2nd design and 3rd design, and if you don't like my logo but you've suggestion, just vote No, I don't. I think... If you want to dislike my logo fully, just vote No, I don't. I'm forget to share my idea to NAM Team. But, I hope this will successful because I still open door to 2nd and 3rd design. Side note: I was made a logo for other community (not SimCity4). My logo is simple. But, the community isn't respond. Maybe, I forget to send idea to the respective party. Thank you.

Is this replacement of SC3000.com that acquired 2009? I think, the previous content on the previous site should be here. Also, don't forget to close SC3000.com and redirect visitors here because sc3000.com has some caveats, such as no ability to register. I think, SC3000 forum should has Omnibus zone since previous site has Knowledge Tree (like current Omnibus). Also, don't forget to move SC4ever.com data here. Make the Knowledge Tree articles as Omnibus articles. I like these site because these site have some knowledge that ST & SC4D don't have. May I copy contents from previous site for archiving to this site? Thank you.
