Making Our New Maps From Scratch
TheCrybKeeper replied to TheCrybKeeper's topic in Mapping Community Room
Due to my recent bout with death, lol, I have short term and some long term memory loss, but now that I see my forum topic, I do remember it, but cannot currently implement it. Wow, I was actually getting good at this? Maybe? -
After browsing hundreds of greyscale topography, I finally decided on, making my own custom map, using Adobe PS CS and Bryce 6.0. I will not be using Adobe Photoshop filters, as they tend to make the same generic conditions, that are simply not natural enough nor unique enough for my personal tastes. Not finished, but here are my results so far:

Sort of is, kinda. Legos made a bunch of other toys more fun, like Hot Wheels for example, with backyard dirt and pine cones for trees.
-
The girls and I, used to also make open floor plans of houses, stores, gas stations, autos, etc. They had those tiny "Polly Pockets" dolls to play with in our little town. If you may be too young to know what "Polly Pockets" were
-
100 boxes or more, of these "babies" and we can make a life sized doll house!
-
Hey Simizen, Cool name! I wish I had pictures to show. My daughters and I, spent 100's of US dollars, purchasing all of the Lego's we could store in a spare room. We built a life sized, playhouse castle we could all three climb into.

Wow, super big thanks! Grids do work and there is nothing bad about imagining how real cities have grown. New York is a very gridded out city, but it doesn't seem to work well. ... I have a plan for that,... I think.

Can anyone post me a greyscale map 1025x1025
TheCrybKeeper replied to TheCrybKeeper's topic in Mapping Community Room
CorinaMarie: Grabbed your map as well. Thank you guys! -
I am not finding the best greyscale to edit my regions. Can anyone throw me a bone? Maybe a tiny biscuit? 1025 x 1025. I only have Windows paint on this entirely old as the hills rig. Please help and a huge thanks to all of you, who support this community.

Um, that would take some work. I was looking for a greyscale I could copy paste in Windows paint. My graphics software has become outdated and doesn't work with Win 10 OS. Someone forgot to give me a treat. I like milkbones. -

Hi, I'm nobody really, but I know Corrie and Cyclone are so capable to maintain this community. Likes to you guys and Dirk. Been here FOREVER. Still playing SC4. I used to be FRNDOFYAWEH on Simtropolis. I am still here, as The Cryb Keeper(crib keeper, keeper of the crib). New members, new to the game, maybe a bit of a lurker, just looking for mods, please come on in and introduce yourselves - we all appreciate everyone.

Hello CorinaMarie,
WELCOME BACK! YAY, for Simtropolis!
I know ya'll need volunteers, but I am not too savvy to be one of those. I am saving up some money though and will try and help financially, if that helps?

For the day to day operations we do.
Sometimes Dirk will go a year or two or three without popping in to the site, but he's always available if anything goes wonky beyond what CB or I can fix.
We are the first two admins to ever be given Webmaster permissions (we have them as secondary roles so we still show on the site as Admins). Then we also have root access via SSH and CB even has the Cloudflare login.
So yeah, we do pretty much completely run the place, but Dirk can and does pop in whenever needed.
-
So glad to hear that. I want to keep the Simtropolis family alive. Love you guys, tell CB "Big Hugs!"

It is CRAZY trying to sign in to a game website, with too much security hoops to jump through. My PalPal account doesn't do all of this crap! Nor my bank, Steam, anywhere else and even Fort Knox is easier to get into!

Introducing Mythicon Valley(Mythicon: Latin; means mythical) Mythicon Valley is a massive region, composed of many waters, so Poseidon seems a fitting trademark for a start. This region will require me to conform to the existing landscape. Only small modifications can be made - For example, I may blast away the side of a mountain to allow a highway to pass through, but am not allowed to level entire mountain ranges. I might shore up a river bank, but am not allowed to fill in the entire river. Tunnels for railways and roads are allowed. This region will follow my grid system, as most successful cities in our real world, do follow some type of gridded layout. My grid system will use the core numbers, that allow for maximum growth and best traffic flow, using the best options for transportation, mass transit and commute times - Commute times can be very long and Sims won't mind that, as opposed to other options, where Sims find plenty of reasons for complaining. The beginning....

Hey my friend! Just me showing off my SC4 formula by the numbers. Where was I? Been sick, in and out of hospital.

I haven't used any terrain mods/plug-ins. No NAM mod. I use simple cheats like money cheat and pollution cheat, that's it. I do have a buggy keyboard tho, hmmm. I create my terrains by hand and guess work, I guess, haha. -

Exactly. I push all four keys together, separate, two at a time and nothing comes up. I have the greyscale map in the regions folder and created my config image. The map came from Sim creator in here. -

Well, since this map install doesn't do anything, I have to terraform each city by hand, from scratch. Shift+Alt+Ctrl+R doesn't do anything. -

Same for me. It used to work, when I had the game CD, but now using Steams digital version, it no longer brings up the BMP files window. Nothing happens. -
What is the best public transportation to use in a city?
TheCrybKeeper replied to LightSkinnedPisces's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Best mass transit is definitely busing. -
Tiny hospital. It looked like a dutch building.
