I see you are using Left Hand Traffic, could be "just" bug in correct pathing in NAM pieces. But first try to bulldoze station and both roads, build station again, then monorail through station and for the last both roads. Have path showing active all time and watch out for moment when paths disappear. If nothing got changed post your problem here: https://community.simtropolis.com/topic/58484-nam-general-support-thread-v2/page-44 and try to modify your network layout a bit. At least for now.

There could be also conflict with other plugin also modifying GLR textures. Most likely in folder on letter N and further.
-
Have you tried to reinstall most-up-to-date NAM? It does contain "standard" white textures.

Like it was posted in Indiana's 2nd link: - First you start with 2 patches: first one updates game to 1.638, next one to 1.640 giving you night-lightning on custom buildings, digital version of game doesn't need patching. - Then next step is newest NAM aka Network Addon Mod - it has great, very customizable launcher (you don't have to install everything, only selected components) and most importantly optimized network controller fixing game's issues with commute time. - Third step would be installing various fixes created & uploaded by fellow Simtropolis members addressing few issues that were left by devs, most important one: I-HT missing jobs bug fix. - Fourth step: enjoying game and browsing both Simtropolis and sc4devotion forums for handy info, great non-hostile community and plethora of custom stuff. TIP: it's good to have sandbox region for testing new plugins out, to not screw up in any way your precious cities.

I think I'm back... I think...
AcronShinra replied to Terring's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Or if you prefer more panoramic views try 1280x800 in Windowed Mode. IMO it's good to keep all your downloaded plugins, as archives, in separate folder - backup is best pony. -
He had in mind custom residential ploppable buildings that can be be find on STEX here for example, mostly older lots. But most of modders is aware of problem with ploppable residentials, so they prefer to offer their creations as normal growable lots or landmarks.

You know, whole this absurd situation reminds me of royal wedding madness from few years ago, but when half of Great Britain was burning in riots, media were more reluctant with informations.

Train Crash with Chemical Spill Question
AcronShinra replied to nathanthemayor's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
@nathan I have an idea. Do you use Extra Cheats.dll plugin? If so, once you spot freight train with waste car, pause the game, press CTRL+X, type or choose udriveit, press ENTER and select that train. Now you will be able to ride it and try to derail train by increasing speed over the max (hold and press W). Maybe just maybe chemical spill will work. -
Lighting issue on night time
AcronShinra replied to Deimos2k13's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
OP, you are not alone in problem. I also use Simfox's Day'n'Nite Mod and I also has same problems with overlaying shadows, but for some strange reason only in Full Screen. In Windowed Mode it's ok. 1280x800 Windowed http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8342/bb48.jpg 1280x1024 Full http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/594/upui.jpg Why? Don't ask me. -
Does anyone know way(s) to force frame limiter on SC4 in Windowed Mode? Seeing about 1000FPS in region view (measured with Fraps and Dxtory) and hearing GPU fans becoming Messerschmitt's rotor due to temperature of thousand of suns (+30 Celsius degrees outside doesn't help either) isn't most heart-warming thing to experience. I burned GPU once due to bugged frame limiter in my old MMO, so it left me quite paranoid. In city view however it limits me to 30 FPS until I try to scroll or move map, then FPS jumps like EKG of guy after heart attack. I tried to limit frames in NVIDIA Inspector or to Force V-Sync via NVIDIA Driver Panel(wasn't surprised that it didn't work, V-Sync usually works only in FullScreen), trying to force frame limit through D3DOverrider also didn't worked. I got limit working thanks to Dxtory, but Dxtory has tendency to bug out game in many different ways under certain circumstances. I know, I know game is old, but yeah if anyone has idea, feel free to post. Limiter works flawlessly in fullscreen mode, but I also has problems with fullscreen(messed up night time lightning, CPU usage higher than in Windowed Mode, and GPU usage almost non-existent, like game was forcing software rendering in fullscreen), but it is topic for another thread. PC specs: XP 32bit Athlon 64 X2 5200+ GeForce 9800GT 4GB Ram PS. Graphic driver settings are set on "controlled by application".

FPS issue in Windowed Mode
AcronShinra replied to AcronShinra's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Update on my, now solved, problem. After, finally, moving to Win7 64-bit EVGA is now limiting FPS in windowed mode as it should. -
It is. You have to start with creating config.bmp with dimensions bigger than default 32x32 pixel size. You can also use quite popular SC4Terraformer, but TBH I never tried it.

First question: - Do you use NAM? Without its optimized Traffic Controller it's hard to build any bigger successful city. If you DO use NAM, then second question: - Does this problem touch all residential types? Or only high wealth (R$$$)? Third question: - Do you have enough educational buildings in the city? Fourth question: - Are you sure you haven't overzoned COM and IND sectors? Fifth question: - Do you use any demand mod? Sixth question: - Do you have any demand cap relievers? Neighbour connections/ plazas(for COM)/ parks(for RES)? Seventh question: - Have you made any changes to taxes?

Any graphics editing program. Every map folder has config.bmp file which tells game how will city tiles be distributed on region map. Check link: https://www.simtropolis.com/omnibus/_/simcity-4/mapping-and-terraforming/configbmp-how-to-make-it-yours-r76

[Send to disaster] button is one of most unused buttons in game. Just plop stations and other civics around, and you won't ever need to send any vehicle anywhere. I wish there'd be option for muuuuuuuuuuch often occurrences of such random semi-disasters.

Make my custom airport active?
AcronShinra replied to michaeldcannaday's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Naaah, those ones are considered props/effect props, usable via Lot Editor. But as custom airports are made from many smaller pieces, it's quite impossible to fully animate such lot. -
Way the industry and freight works always made me to wonder how would SC4 look if it was merged with "Transport Tycoon".

Can cities specialize and ignore all but 1 "product"?
AcronShinra replied to Gsim4's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Of course you can create dedicated cities, lots of experienced players are doing it and yes, this is practical due to how regional demand and neighbour connection works. And there's no penalty except for advisors reminding you whole time of lacking development types, but who ever listen to them anyway. Graphs > advisors. For me if city is on small or large tile doesn't matter, goals are always the same. City must be always profitable, if it's 10§ or 10000§ of profit also doesn't matter as long as finances are "green". Other goal: tile must be completely developed, with as many civics/parks/eye-candies/transportation methods as reasonably possible. -
If outcome of every simulator action was static, with almost no room for randomness, I would call it bad coding. But on other hand, have you played Civilization 3? There was "Preserve Random Seed" option that made every battle outcome or other calculation being same even with save/load due to random number being kept in game save file. In SimCity4, because of its simulation complexity it rather wouldn't work.

You just made me very curious.

Advantages and disadvantages of rail
AcronShinra replied to wuudy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Rail is dirt cheap to place and maintain, have cheap stations, have no problems with crossing any network diagonally or perpendicularly, either over/under/through, is a bit faster than cars on roads and avenues, makes great intercity connections. I almost always create 1-2 or more (depends on tile size) main rail lines that go through city working as support for main highway network.- 2 Replies

Mostly anything that enhances game without breaking it completely (so no cheat lots or demand mods) and eye candies: NAM, RTMT, SPAM, various fixes, water/terrain mods, Day'n'Nite, LRM v5.0, Stoplight Replacement, UI mod, Less Abandonment mod, Job Doublers, seasonal lots, avenues, new sidewalks, automata skins, various custom civic buildings and growables, tons of fillers, parks, MMP and such. Have I just posted my whole plugin folder?
