  1. Colossus Addon Mod - CAM Controller

It seems I'm having an issue with the installation, or rather confused. The directory says C:\CAMTemp\Simcity4. Is that the correct path because on the readme when it pops up, when you install CAM, it says to put the directory to SimCity_1 only? Any help?
  2. Ebola can be beaten.

It's good to hear they found a cure. But to be honest, I feel like a cure was already made long ago and it wasnt released to the people in Guinea.
  3. When is there too much information?

The amount of people that have power and money, but no smarts. It's ridiculous how people with all that power and money waste it on stupid/ignorant stuff that's not making the world a better place, or doing something that can just benefit people all across for the good and better. Ik it's talking about satellites, but still...

What I would love to do in CS is to build a city like Tokyo, or London, or Melbourne, or a super green clean city .

  12. Cities: Skylines vs SimCity 2013

Yes a lot of people are expecting great things form Cities Skylines. Just hope those PCs/Laptops are able to cope! Yea I hope so too. It looks so good, my pc betta take all of it.....in the processor >.>....no pun intended.
  13. Cities: Skylines vs SimCity 2013

When I first viewed CS from videos, gameplays, and dev diaries, it reminded me some much of sc4. It's like CS is another version of sc4 when it was being made. Can't really explain it, but CS is reminding me how sc4 use to be before I started using mods, but more advance (because you couldn't make curve roads in sc4 without the NAM mod or mods). In other words, CS is my only hope for another awesome city builder .... Simcity3102? Ooo what's that ?.....
  14. I do have two questions. 1. Will you be able to build sunken highways, roads, and railways in CS, like in SC4? Well I think you had to use mods to make sunken highways, roads, and railways in SC4, but still I just want to know if it's possible through no mods or mods in CS. 2. Will there be different road textures in CS? From all the dev videos and pictures I saw, it seemed as the road textures are euro style. Will there be like North American road textures or East Asian road textures (like Japanese roads) etc?
  15. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

Is Simcity 4, 2013, XL, or what ever other city building game is boring to you or isn't your cup of tea when equating to architecture or real time city simulation? I'm very curious to know. Not trying to criticize or anything, but ever sense Simcity 2013 was released, mostly all of these recent city simulation/planning games, to me, gotten really boring. And I wanted to know what you guys on the forum think about these city building games, and upcoming city building games. Simcity 4 was fun when I first played it and Cities XL was kind of interesting too, but realizing what would be necessary to build or simulate a real time city, these games gotting boring to me. The upcoming city games I know, Cities Skyline, Avalon, and City Bound, I just want to know what do you guys think about them. I'm not sure if there is another topic about this, but I'm just curious to know what you guys think about Simcity 4/2013/XL (or any other city game I don't know about) and upcoming city building games, rather if it's fun or boring etc. Also learning how I and alot of people is interested in architecture and/or city planning, these recent city games doesn't really equate what I would want to build in these games. So please do tell what your thoughts are now on these city simulation games. (Again, I don't know if there's already a topic about this >.>)
  16. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

If I understand what you are trying to say, is that you want a game like Cities XL with very little simulation but with big, beautiful cities. Cities XL and Dwarf Fortress are extreme opposites. Dwarf Fortress isn't even a city builder but it has some aspects of it. Within the City Building/Simulating genre Cities XL is the opposite of SimCity Societies when it comes to size, graphics, and detail (SCS had a small scale with each sim simulated in similar detail as a Tropican, while having cartoon-like graphics). SimCity 2013 and SimCity 4 both lie in middling areas. SimCity 2013 has the 4th most detailed simulation (behind Banished, Tropico, and SimCity Societies), zones tied to roads, and a pretty small scale (but larger scale than Banished, Tropico, and SimCity Societies). It is completely unfeasible to have a game with the detail of Banished, Tropico, or Dwarf Fortress, the graphics of Cities XL or Enodo, and the scale of Cities XL, Cities: Skylines, or SimCity 4. Cities: Skylines has my ideal combination of features and balancing as far as I know. --Ocram I had recently seen videos and updates on cities skyline, and I think it's what I'm looking for. Maybe the scenery is a little meh, but I got to say it does look really fun! I'm putting my hopes in cities skyline
  17. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

. Your statement is rather ambiguous. Do you mean like how in Cities XL, there's an existing Paris city with the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame already there? Or are you alluding to something more like Google Earth in which you simply look around the city? Or perhaps a game like Sim City Societies where you plop several buildings on their own? Yeaa, I'm not really smart at city building stuff. I don't remember what I was trying to convey, but all I was thinking about was a city building game that had realism graphics (like sc4 modded) and is 3d that you can make a city with roads, rails, highways, and any other transportation going in any direction. (like nyc or tokyo) Not that it would be complex in its programming for it to use up the cpu, but be able to build and simulate a real time city. (Yeaa I still don't know if I make sense ) But all I'm saying is that I want to build a city like London, Tokyo, or LA, and construct my own types of architectural buildings/designs. And sense mods like bsc floras and other trees/nature mods, was another reason why I liked sc4 because I really like nature. Can't have a city with unrealistic/no scenery imo.
  18. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

I only had one day of programming class (don't judges meh e.e). But I wasn't saying about simulating life in a city, just simulate a city. Not sure how to put it, but like lets say to simulate a city that makes it eyecandy. Like it's simulating a city based on how a city would function or operate, but wouldn't have that much complexity to it.
  19. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

Oooh. I have been questioning why these gaming companies with these advanced engines don't make something that can simulate a real time city. But throughout my days of learning how simple and complex city planning is, lets say cities like nyc, tokyo, london, hong kong, or melbourne, I would want to build and simulate a city like those in one of these games, but it seems like I can't because of alot of flaws that I come across.
  20. The Existence of God

Why look in a book or look light years away, when the answer to life and/or the existence of a Creator could be right in front of us (aka Earth/Nature). Nature is waaaaay to feminine for there to be a masculine God, like trees. The way they look and curves and form, it's to feminine for me. (Feminine as in free or open, not Masculine or straight forward/lined). The trees, the universe, our blood vessels, looks like fractals. The spiral or Golden ratio (you can see it if you make a fist, and look at the side of your fist), can be seen in nature too. Basically I'm saying nature could be or is the answer to if God does or doesn't exists.

  23. Would Sim City (2013) be worth my time?

In my opinion on SC2013, it's really boring. The reason I say that is because I feel like they could had done more with this game. In this day and age, we have the technology (or game engines) to make great games. I also feel like they rushed it too, that they didn't took enough time to make it possible to build a life-like city simulation with rhw/highways, railways (through and around the city), huge map sizes, trams, subways, etc. I know that they said it's because of their engine that they couldn't do all of that or something, but I just feel like they could had done way better. But if you want to try it you can, and I would recommend mods for it too.
  24. I'm very curious if NAM will have a next update. The reason is that I came across a page on the RealRailway Development page on SC4Devotion, about the new rrw mod having wires that connects the caternaries having an electricfied railway. Another reason is that I feel like rhw would need more puzzle pieces to build easier bridges and ramps, because I tried to use rhw in my city that I'm building, but it's very hard to make exist ramps (that looks nice) and interchanges (that's not messy or all over the place). Another reason is that I think I remember coming across a page on Simtropolis about the rhw textures having a grey or grey asphalt look, and that it would be nice to have grey asphalt textures for rhw and the roads, especially for NWM. Sooo, I was just wonder if NAM will have any updates in the future. If so, do anyone know when?
  25. Curious about Future Updates for NAM?

NAM developer here. First of all, your best source of NAM development news is actually SC4Devotion.com, since that's developmental HQ for the NAM Team. Second, there's been a lot of development that tackles the very thing that you've been asking for: ramp interfaces. Third of all, and I'm spoiling a little bit here, almost none of them are puzzle pieces, so if you think it's gonna be less convenient, it's actually the other way around since the alternative is having to sift through (literally) hundreds of different pieces. Plus the patterns aren't that hard to remember. Third and a half, yes, some of these things are elevated ramps. Wow I didn't knew you could do that from the video with rhw. But thx for the info Ganaram.
