  1. I have spent a good few hours scowering the internet trying to find BATs that are or look similar to buildings found in cities such as Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town but have had no luck. I got bored and fed up so I came here for help. Does any one know of any buildings or just lots in general?
  2. nam Network Addon Mod: Version 33 released for SC4

Sounds great! Thanks for this great mod, I've recently been getting used to The RHW, as I didn't really use it much before. I can really apreciate the effort and work that goes into this, it's amazing. Pity about those SA/Irish textures tho, I really loved them Edit: about those textures, I used the Irish ones in the past, if I update will my motorways that I built before change to the euro ones or will they stay as they are?
  3. Back Story; I had SC4 running on my PC with a disk copy for about 3 years and accumulated around 2-3gb of mods for it and lots of knowledge on the game in general, and even for some of that time SC4 was running on my old Vista machine before I got a new one with Win7 and everything was working great (well, great as in it worked). The SC4 disk broke in half and I ended up getting SC4 on Steam, as it was something like €5. I hadn't yet gotten the chance to install it on my desktop before we moved so I'm not sure if it works on that, but while we're waiting for all that stuff to arrive, which will be 2 months or so, I tried it on the laptop, which is low spec and runs on Vista. But whenever I try to start it up, whether it's with a game launcher, in compatibility mode (all the available OS') or through the Steam client it doesn't start, it loads for 5 seconds, nothing on the screen and then nothing happens. I have spent a good while searching for a resolution but nothing seems to work. My game is up to date and is the Delux version, and here's the game launcher I use (Which I used with the disk version as well) I have no other mods My PC specs: Dell Inspiron 1525 Win Vista, 32 Bit Intel Core2 Duo T5800 @ 2.00GHz 3GB RAM Mobile Intel 965 Chipset I read somewhere space might be an issue so in case, I have 80GBs free of 220 total, but I do have an external which has a total of 500GB, about half is full
  4. Steam Copy Won't Launch

Ahh, see I have a backup of my old SC4 game, and it does have that file. I think this doesn't because it hasn't actually loaded...
  5. Steam Copy Won't Launch

Thanks! I tried all of this, it turns out I had a LOT of malware, but it still didn't work! I used Malwarebyte and Panda for the scanning and deleting, they seem to be pretty reliable. Attached is what I think is the config log you mentioned. Maybe that'll show the issue? Thanks! I tried all this but sadly it didn't work, I'm completely baffled I tried it using both the launcher and the method through Steam, still nothing.
  6. Would I be able to run the game? My Specs: Dell Dimension C521 AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core 4400+ @ 2.3GHz RAM: 3GB ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit
  7. Hartford

Wow! This town really reminds me of Dublin's north side, the Howth and Malahide areas.
  8. Sim City-like renders

This is really interesting because with simcity we have to make the environment fit in with the buildings while with this you can balance the environment and the buildings to make them them work together... and it looks awesome great work!!

  13. Port of Mayumba Tour

No problem! After some intense internet scowering I managed to find those sets and more! SOMYs port sets -> http://roe99.weebly.com/somy-collection1.html There's the one set with those orange ships a little down the page, that has both the cranes and the ships, that's the one you want.     On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Elton Kayin Otieno; Directed to The Government of the Republic of San Theodoros; President Makanzu would like to gladly accept a meeting between General Ramón Alcazar and Nyangan Delegates. Here we can discuss possible trade opportunities to expand our foreign relations even further. Our foreign minister also asks if an embassy be built in your nations capital, along with one being built in Nyanga for your citizens. We believe this will further strengthen our ties and look forward to more oportunities in the future.   ____________________________________________________________     Thank you very, very much! I have tried my best to keep as many details as possible simlar to those of cities in Africa so that should include the historical backgrounds of colonisation and the oil rush in the 1980-90s which would have made the money to build much of the infrastructure and buildings for Mayumba and Nyanga in general.   On the large avenues, I did try that for the main central avenue, but found that it could not fit in with the city's small size (around a pop. of 400-600,000) and traffic will be an issue in my city because everything is plopped, sadly I don't have the time for LE to make streets such as in your CJ! I have fallen in love LBTs BATs, they work perfectly for so many scenes, and are more often than not lotted very well! Which is nice.   Mayumba actually has two ports, this is the older one which does not have the oil terminal. The newer one is located 2.5km away from the one shown and contains most container traffic, has the oil refinery and oil terminal, so look out for that in future updates!   Thank you very much, it means a lot coming from a skilled City Builder such as yourself! :D
  14. Port of Mayumba Tour

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dCkWDcrq7s Port of Mayumba Tour Hello, hello, Welcome to Nyanga! I hope you enjoy your stay here and make sure to visit all the wonderful sites to experience what Nyanga has to offer! Today we will be looking at the old port of Mayumba. At this location the original European Settlers came and met with the tribesmen of Nyanga, and so began the arduous journey which makes what Mayumba is today. The port is a thriving hub of markets, industry and crime, so lock the car doors and put up the windows... Fruit and vegetables are being unloaded and sorted, to be ready for shipping, some of it ends up on the street markets or in local shops. Trucks also stop here for rest stops or a tire change. Some factories are located here as well, such as D'acton's chemical production facility (the factory lot in the centre) and Patriot Protective's workshop (on the left). Some of buildings here have been around since colonial times, where sugar was processed from the plantations. There are also some warehouse depots throughout the port, where storage facilities and smaller factories are located One of the busiest freight terminals is the bulk freight dock, everything from food, to chemicals and clothes is shipped out from here. The boats though are small and mostly head north to neighbouring Gabon, some go to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea. Here are the grain processing docks. Wheat, maize and hops and brought here by truck for processing and then shipped all over the world. These mills are owned and operated by the government, but have been infamously known for the poor conditions and terrible quality housing provided for the workers. The coal docks take up the majority of large shipping traffic in Mayumba. They also take up the most space in the port, by having a massive coal storage yard. In some effort to provide housing for the workers employed at the port the government built council houses and flats. Sadly they were poorly constructed and not properly mainitained, today they are riddled with crime and are in very bad need of re-development, but many workers have no other choice and have to live here to keep their families alive. Our last visit for the day is to one of the many very busy street markets at the Portside Townships. These usually occur all through the week and many stalls and shops continue selling right through the night. You can get everything you could ever think of at these markets, much of the stuff like food and some clothes are not terribly bad quality, but stay away from any electronics or branded clothing, these are almost always fakes and a waste of money! You also have to watch you pockets, pick pocketing is a frequent occurance in any city around here. We're back at the hotel, I hope you enjoyed your day out! Thanks guys for the comments on my last post! They are much appreciated!!
  15. Stone Creek

That's a very nice downtown you have there and the bridges are nicely placed, maybe where you have labelled as suburbs you could do a midtown, something similar to bronx would be awesome! Great work, can't wait to see the finished city!

  17. Port of Mayumba Tour

Thank you everyone for the nice comments and ratings, they are greatly appreciated!   There is a number of different lots that I used to make the houses here, I didn't LE any of them neither did I grow this, It's too difficult trying to grow all of the specific houses for the different areas!! 20. Bombardiere's London/ English Bats

Oooo, these are very nice, They could also look good in red brick or like in the post above, that beige colour. Good detail on the lot, although the roof texture looks a little repetitive, maybe? It would also be nice to add some of that detail aorund the windows that so many of them have, but its not necessary, as you set out to design non-descript filler lots.

Same Gunna have to go with Juliok, like Militant Radical said, Haljacky's it lacks cohesion, because of that massive motorway running right through downtown... Juliok92012 - 8 Haljacky - 4
  22. Bombardiere's London/ English Bats

I have only just seen this thread now! I love it! Great work on the props and building models and being from Ireland I love the irish themed pieces! Definitely more plain Irish and UK stuff needed for the game. What I have noticed as a difference between Irish and UK buildings is that Irish ones seem to be a lot simpler in design compared to British buildings, if that's of any help! There are some great Irish georgian townhouse examples from the town which I live in, Limerick in the south of Ireland, you should check it out!

The Bambuti were linked to Pygmy tribes whose Stone Age culture was slowly replaced by Bantu tribes coming from regions north of present-day Republic of Congo about 1,700 years ago. Bantu tribes living in the Nyanganese Region, established kingdoms along the coast and along the Nyanga River. The capital of these Kingdoms was Tchibanga. French, Histalian and Dutch traders were some of the first European colonists’ to arrive in Nyanga. They traded mainly with silver and glass for various types of, plant and animal products. Histalpol first colonised Nyanga in 1846, following the French in their colonising of the area. Many Histalians immigrated to Nyanga to start new industries and businesses after the 1885 Berlin Conference. After the fall of the Histalian Empire in the 1900s France claimed Nyanga and merged it with Gabon forming one of Gabons’ nine provinces. After Gabon's independence in 1960 and M'Ba's bloodless coup in 1964, Nyanga's population wanted a way out. When Omar Bongo's one party state came into rule desire for political liberalization provoked violent demonstrations. Strikes by students and workers occured in early 1990. Tensions worsened after Several PDG politcians were murdered in Maybumba, ILN leader, Alabode Johnathon, urged his followers to end the violence and continue peacefully. In June 1991 Alabode and his coleagues' housing complex in Mayumba was raided during the night and he was taken to Libreville for questioning. He was released a week later but was under surrveillance. Alabode spoke at ILN rally in Tchibanga, requesting a referendum for Nyanga's inpedendence be made following a poll in Nyanga. Bongo responed to the referendum on a positive note, making it a requirment of a 65% in favour for the bill to pass. Voting began in July through to August, the results were 83% in favour. The Independence League of Nyanga, with Alabode Johnathon as president won with 56% of vote in the first democratic elections in Nyanga. During Alabode’s second term as president (1997-2001) Nyanga experienced an economic downturn following the many civil wars taking place on the continent. In 2001 elections took for the third time during the whole month of March. The Democratic Alliance won with 37% of the vote. Since then the Democratic Alliance has won the 2004, 2008 and 2013 being the current political party in state. In August 2014 Nyanga became a member of the Alliance of Independent Nations.
