So, I have a EUR copy of the SC4 DLX but I am and wish to build Amercian style cities. The first thing I did after installing the game on my new PC build (I had it on my old one for over 6 years) is go into regedit and change language to 01. When I did this years ago I had no issue. This time the language pack does not display correctly for in game tooltips, advice columns and even querries. I attempted to reinstall and that did not solve the problem. Any help would be immensely appreciated folks.

Well, I don't have a link but you can turn UDI off without mods: click on the "Sims" tab, then on the vehicle icon on the left, then the icon that looks like magnifying glass - poof, no more UDI icons! Hope this helps, all the best to retrieve your plugins You know in ten dang years i never knew that! Plus one from me when i get home to my pc lol

Let's take a break in Simopolis

Great job it looks fantastic! -
Your work makes me feel ashamed to post anything here lol. Your attention to detail and perfection in your designs is astounding. I only wish I had half the talent you do. When designing cities and especially the transportation system there are 3 people I usually look to for ideas - You, Marten and AIX. I guess by the time SC6 comes out I'll be close to your level Great job as always mate!

Oh yes has anyone noticed that the arrows on any of the TLA networks are mirrored the wrong way? For instance in RHD if you are heading eastbound and get into the turn lane the arrow for your side points to the right. Glad my sims are smarter than these Houstonians or there would be wrecks and gridlock EVERYWHERE lol.

Thats nuts Haljackey. The interior freeways you have in the first pic, what is there primary function? Is that more intended for hov or is that the main lanes? It seems to me that you have main lanes in the middle and a collector system at the exterior. If that is indeed the case how is that with decreasing conjestion? Ive been trying for months now to get some type of feeder system but getting inside entrances to work is impossible unless you use 4s and in that case you can't get businesses to face the feeder because obviously it isnt transit enabled. Harder for me because i want to use owr-4 so that limits my options even further. Hmmmmmmmm

Congrats! You just taught a professional driver who should know all of the driving laws (federal - DOT and State) by heart something new. I knew there couldn't be two of them but I thought that was at the federal level. Good going Well, I am off for the weekend so I am really going to knuckle down and figure this HOV thing out. If you got any ideas as to what may work let me know and I'll crunch down and see what we can miniaturize it to. I think it is more possible now with NAM31 than it ever was. Let put that to a test.

Sorry for dp i dont have an edit feature on my phone. If i am not mistaken AIX 405 is the main inner loop around downtown LA and the busiest freeway in the country. Im a little rusty on my freeways and havent driven a semi in a year but i dont think there are 2 405. Remember any freeway with a even number is a loop usually with the last number(s) corresponding to the freeway it loops around and odds are spur routes (think 610 off i10 here in houston and i195 which is a spur in miami if jm not mistaken)

Can't wait to see how you do that. Your work is pretty impressive with the larger setups.

That is very true and I have actually seen that. I was an I-5 corridor truck driver for 3 years from Medford OR I do like their system up there but I am not sure how I would be able to place that inside my region. I came up with the HOV-merge to main lanes - exit just based off of what we have here in Houston. If you look at google earth or my fav, mapper.acme.com You can see on the west side of Houston west of I610 the Katy freeway. This is the freeway I live off of and travel everyday for work. The inner HOV lanes would be the equivalent to our 4S and the main lanes from HWY6 east to I45 are 8S, 10S in places where major surface streets merge with the freeway. This is what I am accustomed to and really the only way I know how to build the dern thing. I can tell you that merging from the HOV lanes to the exit in a short distance across 5-6 lanes is retarded from personal experience but that the only way I can figure this thing out lol.

Also note from that screen that L1 6S is converting to l1 MIS when I try to run L0 MIS under it. I know a form of that one has been reported but I didn't see it reported for L1 network. Maybe I just missed it?

I posted a series of collector/distributor lanes many pages back in this thread. Two separate carriageways for each direction. The inner lanes could have been HOV, but there weren't appropriate HOV lane markings available at the time. I am going to re-visit it once NAM 31 is a little more polished. Edit: I dug up the old picture. Nicely done AIX. I love the look of it unfortunately it is too large for my application with the collectors. I am attempting to do it with a DD system. Right now I have 10S running on both sides on DD in the center. The problems is is that when that DD comes up to a massive interchange I have to drop it down to L2 and pray to god I can get L3 and L1 to get through there, then raise it back to DD. Another issue is that I need to account for entrance and exit ramps. To do this I have made use of the 8S split ramp. I run it down to 2 4S and then use the 4 inside exit and entrances to facilitate flow from the HOV lanes to the main freeway. The ultimate vision will be for commuters wanting off onto the intermediate surface streets to get off the HOV, on to the freeway, then off to those roads. At major highways, spurs, and other freeways there will be full incorporation of HOV access to those without the need to merge onto the freeway. Of course that is the ultimate plan. Implementing that is a COMPLETELY different story. As you can see from my earliest work - taken about 3 hours before this post - it's off to a rough start. This is the first major interchange to start construction in a fresh region. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
