  1. Update 30- Santa Rio

[Click banner for full size] Santa Rio is a relatively dense city located along the Zeus River, a deep and very windy tributary of the Kellan River. Santa Rio has seen accelerating growth due to its participation in the statewide Skyline Race, the name given to for the skyscraper construction boom all across English Vancouver. While Santa Rio may not have as many skyscrapers as nearby Kellan or the charm of Oceanside, it still has a special feel to it that makes it's residents proud to call it home. Also, sorry about the six month break (I think it was six months). I haven't been a busy man or anything, other than getting a huge promotion, but I'm back now so hopefully the CJ can live on. A political map of the Santa Rio Metropolitan Area, sometimes referred to as the Zeus River Valley A zoning map that reveals some areas such as the Clarkson Retail Corridor (Downtown Clarkson) and one of Santa Rio's only industrial areas. A transport map showing freeways, state routes, significant streets, and railways, including Skywind Central Station.
  2. Update 29- Riverdale

[Click banner for full size] Riverdale is a prominent, relatively sprawly city with a denser core that is situated along the Riverdale Avenue Corridor. Downtown, Midtown, and Lower Riverdale are all located along this business corridor and each are only about 2 miles apart. The entire metro area follows the geography of the Oceanside River Valley, which is where it is located, and is also also known for being very hilly with the exception of the RA Corridor. Replies are at the bottom... Downtown Riverdale. At 715 feet (218 meters), the KMPG News Tower is the tallest building in the Riverdale Metropolitan Area. It is also the fifth tallest building in Henderson that was designed by an architect outside North America. One honorable mention is the Chase Tower at 483 feet (147 meters) that was built after the old Sears Tower collapsed due to a 8.5 earthquake that occurred in 1991. Midtown Riverdale isn't that interesting however, and although it is still home to some hi-rises most people on travelling on Riverdale Avenue just keep driving by. However, some people do stop at Western Gallery, Riverdale's very own modern art gallery that opened in 2014. More buildings in Midtown. Lower Riverdale, the Northern anchor of the Riverdale Avenue Corridor (it's not the end of it, however). In this picture you can see the Jenkins Building (white tower), Riverdale City Hall (brownish tower), the Nafmis Department Store (blue-yellow building), a Target, and modern apartments (bottom-left) that have rents as high as $2,800 in some units. The world headquarters for Ouellette Electronics, a premium electronics corporation that has gained popularity in the computer market after its affordable yet premium Smackbook Pro was released in 2009. Some single family homes near Lower Riverdale. More homes near LR. Further down Riverdale Avenue, the street decreases to four lanes and we happen run into the Vu Medical Research Center (orange/red building) and the Eicosakis Biology Center (greyish-blue building), both are research centers that attract college graduates from premium Bay Area colleges as well as East Coast Ivy Leagues back in the United States. We are about to go down into Riverdale Plains, a small geographic feature that only has three residential buildings that aren't single-family homes. All major buildings are also situated on or near Flatline Avenue. In this picture, you can see the Riverview Tower, a small distribution center, Plainsview Elementary School, and a police station across from the elementary school. A close up of Plainsview Elementary and the police station. As we continue down Flatline Avenue, we reach a curve that helps us see the shore of the Oceanside River better. Tyler L. Henderson High School. With 2,105 students (2,238 including 8th graders taking freshman classes), THHS serves all of Riverdale Plains and the northern part of the Riverdale Avenue Corridor. Replies michae95l -Those are the original JS Seawalls. Major from Bajor - Thanks! Hope you have fun returning to SC4! Mymyjp - Thanks! slickbg56 - Thanks! And yes, Oceanside is very dense. Kim Sunwoo - Thanks! I knew trams and malls always convince people.
  3. Show Us Your Suburbs

Riverdale, a new city of mine with a new update being typed up right now. Although these pictures are suburban they are fairly close to Downtown. To be honest, the only reason they aren't part of the downtown grid is because of a geographical feature that will be explained in the update.
  4. Hudsonia

This looks just awesome! Since I just lost all my SC4 files I'll probably use this for a new region!
  5. Wow, I'm hearing so much hate about Hillary Clinton from people, but maybe its just because I live in Arizona

  7. Update 28- Oceanside Intro

Note: Greater Xylo is still active. 120 miles north of the Kellan Valley lies Oceanside, another thriving city in the Pacific Northwest. Despite its name, Oceanside is situated on the coast of the Columbia Sound. Oceanside is known for the very large amount of rain it gets every year. Since it is located farther north on the Pacific coast, Oceanside receives over 100 inches (2,540 millimeters) of rain from January to December. The city is also prone to earthquakes and volcanoes, like the rest of the Pacific Northwest, and is even home to a volcano of its own, one that some say is more dangerous than Mt. Rainier will ever be... Replies are at the bottom. WARNING! THIS UPDATE CONTAINS A LOT OF PICTURES! The sun rises in Downtown Oceanside, which is a big deal since clear skies in the wet season of the Pacific Northwest. Rush hour traffic starts to pour into Downtown Oceanside on the I-5, after all, the people of the West Coast do love their freeways. More rush hour traffic. Regional HQ of XyloCorp, an architectural firm based in Xylo. Downtown Oceanside is basically a cluster of skyscrapers and hi-rises. Medium-density residential development along the I-5. Light rail runs through downtown. Low elevation areas like this are been prone to tsunamis and river flooding, especially here since its on the mouth of the Chumash river. The shy Bank of America Building tries to hide behind the Chumash Inc. Tower. The main exit into the Pitch district, home of most major sports teams in Oceanside, as well as concert halls, arenas, stadiums, and shopping plazas. The Pitch is also home to the Sandy Springs Plaza. Now we are in Historic Downtown Oceanside, which is located across the bridge on Rocket Island. Historic Downtown Oceanside is known for its large, McMansion style houses. It is also known to be home to the first Ikea in all of Henderson. Oceanside High School serves more than 2,100 students a day, and has been serving the spoiled students of Rocket Island since 1898, which makes it the third oldest high school on the Henderson West Coast. Panorama of Historic Downtown Oceanside. Oceanside gets a lot of rain, which is what the Pacific Northwest is known for. Replies from "Update 28- First Nigh Shots In 2+ Years" jmsepe- Thanks! 13. That last picture is everything! So much life for such a small city. And I read the last update too, and you could just use two lane one-way roads like I do, since highway ramps don't make intersections with roads. And when the expressway intersects with a road just convert it into a highway...
