Have CO lost touch with what players want?

My hope is that C:SL showed that there is a market for this type of game. Considering the succes of C:SL we can only hope that the game is followed by better C:SL 2. It's most likely that the developer will build upon the good features in C:SL and improve/add what is needed for a great successor. My biggest issue with the game at this level, is that game updates breakes mods compatability. So the risk is that the game will "deteriate" gradually when modders leave for other games. -

Hi I would like to contribute with pictures from my current city. Lakedale is build on one of the vanilla maps, presently with a population of circa 81K. First the overview map and then some pictures from various parts of the city. More will follow in the future.

I would like to have something like the web server mod integrated. I would really like to have some way of connecting Excel to the game and use the BI features to compile/display data from the simulation. -

Hi. I have created some assets locally based on workshop items. Somehow these "new" assets keeps their link to the original workshop asset. Are anyone else experiencing this?Do anyone know how to break this link?This does not always happen, but it does sometimes. -

I didn't use the same name. By the way, using "new" is not a posible solution for intersections and parks. Since these can not be based on an existing asset. -

Not exactly. The original and the new asset seems to share the connection to the workshop. My "new" local asset can't be deleted via the asset manager in-game. The delete button is the "unsub" button similar to a workshop item. Pressing this button means I unsub the original asset and not deleting my own creation. I don't contest this is a bad thing, and in a way it is preventing "copyright violations", but I'm not sure this is intended from Collosal. Perhaps it is a way of making sure that there are no dual-assets. -

I just tried your suggestion. When i unsub'ed the original workshop assets the link was broken. But when i resub'ed the link was reinitiated. Perhaps i should try to save the new asset as a new (new) asset while the link is broken. -

When the link exists, the new asset can't be uploaded to the workshop and the "improved asset icon" mod gets confused. Also the steam icon is shown at the load screen in the asset editor. I would be nice to have a way of breaking the link, also I don't undestand why the link is carried over when saving as a new asset. I guess there might be a deeper mening to that, perhaps it's relevant for updating existing workshop assets.. -
Hi. For all you modders, and Colossal, It would be awesome if there could be created an overlay showing where the unemployed lives. I have businesses needing employees and I have unemployed people. So it must be the distance between these, and perhaps an education mismatch, since this happens. So an overlay helping me plan new businesses and living space will be great.

Not a great solution, but. I use a laptop, besides my gamer pc, with a seperate CS installation where assets and mods are disabled. Since the vanilla game is not so taxing for a modern computer this works fine. Also i use the lunch parameters mentioned above. It would be nice though if there was a parameter for disabling assets but not mods. -
