  1. adfly and download manager

I have been lately downloading (or trying to!!) without being logged in. I'll have to try to remember to always log in first if I want to download a file. I'll see if that helps. Thanks . . .
  2. I can't find the topic I originally started on this problem, but I don't think I explained my situation properly, so I'm gonna try again. I already have my download folder organized as to originator\author\etc. My problem is when I try to download a new file. I click on all the "agree & download" buttons, and the last thing I get is a new tab by something called "adfly." it says my download will start in 5 . . . 4 . . .3 . . . etc. and when it does start, it is always to install\run a set-up file. If I run the setup it is for some kind of download manager. I installed it the first time it came up, but now every time I try to download a file it wants to install this download manager again. I can't find anything in my control panel to delete\remove adfly. I just want to get back to the point where I could right-click on the download button and so a save as. Any ideas?? Thanks . . .
  3. I couldn't find a thread on this topic so I'm starting one. Is there any way to download a file WITHOUT going thru that silly download manager. Every time I try to download it wants to install the manager first (I did that the first time I used it). And now my Norton is telling me it is a suspect file and deletes it. I have more faith in Norton than in this dl manager. Any suggestions?? Thanks
  4. St. Basil's Cathedral V2 (Snow) Maxis

Wow! Terrific! And I love that there are no dependencies. I will use this in my cities (I have an 8 large by 8 large region so I will be using it a lot.) 5 of 5
  5. CBBP Offical Upload

Cool!! I like it and I will use it. I give it a 4 out of 5!! I absolutely HATE dependencies!! Even 1 or 2 is too much for me. I have seen some very beautiful lots that I would dearly love to have in my cities, but have not dl'd them because they have 10 or 12 or more dependecies. I have seen 3 different people use the same dependency and call it 3 different names.
  6. Improved Gateway Arch

I use it in every city I build!! Looks good - I've been there several times and this looks lot better than the Maxis original. 4/ 5
  7. plugin pack missing

    Sam: I'll give it a try . . . thanks
  8. plugin pack missing

I don't recall seeing any brown boxes but I'll look again. thanks
  9. I am getting an error message that says something like: plugin pack 309819133 is missing on your system . . . I had not played SC4 in about a week. At that time everything was fine (no error message). In the interveneing week I DID NOT add or delete any SC files. What gives? How can I locate this particular file as a search on the number returns nothing? thanks
  10. Transit Enabled 3 pack

Good idea!! I think that ALL lots that have parking spaces and\or driveways or street access should be transit enabled. After all, it makes the game more "realistic."
  11. Money Office

Looks OK to me. I don't use money lots, but if I did this is one of the better looking ones I've seen.
  12. HKSAS Primary School

Have NOT been able to locate HKSAS Prop Pack . . . I spent 30 minutes searching 2 sites and can't find it. I HATE DEPENDENCIES!!!!! I would like to use this file but will not even attempt to until I can locate all the dependency files. I would rather download a single 10 meg file than a 2 meg file that has even 1 dependency.
  13. XCenter Legaly House

I like it. It is nice and neat and clean. Not everybody likes to have a yard\property that looks like a junk yard or a perpetual garage sale. I have down-loaded all 3 of this guy's work. But then I'm a guy who has been playing SC since the DOS version in the late 80's, and recommends newbies get the Prima books and read them!
  14. ?? did dl - winzip says it does not appear to be a valid archive file!! what gives???
  15. At the risk of being flamed as a neanderthal . . . I HIGHLY recommend the Prima guides. If you have Rush Hour, get the version for it. I have both and have actually READ both from cover to cover. I tend to think that MOST people do not spend time 24/7 on this site asking questions or spend hours and hours and hours browsing trying to find answers. If you are actually playing the game and need a quick answer to a question about the basic, stock Maxis game elements, the Prima guides are INDISENSABLE. Sure there a some typos. But if you look hard enough you can find typos in the Encyclopedia Britannica or the Bible. That doesn't mean those books are trash. There are those on this site who make a profession out of disseminating advice, and they will tell you that the Prima guides are only good for toilet paper. They are wrong. Get the Prima guide. You can find them on eBay or at amazon dot com. Or maybe some trixie winner has one he would be glad to get rid of. I bet you could make good use of it.
